Got several of theses messages along with others telling me to call them back and if I didn't they were filing a lawsuit against me and wished me good luck.

Yep. Got that same call from"Joe" today.  I seem to get a lot of these.  I can only assume that the payday loan company I used at one time sold my info to them.  Anyone else use a payday loan company?  Dang Bastar**!  And the most irritating thing.....No one can do anything about it.  Because there'll always be that 1 sucker that freaks out and believes these a**holes and hands over their bank information or makes a"payment".  Oh and btw...I just called this number back.  It's a Verizon number and says "This Verizon Customer is not available at this time." I wonder if Verizon can do anything about it?  I have verizon....I think I'll check it out.  Final note....These guys are messin with the wrong M**** F****'n Lady.  Peace!

Never fax these shady operators with any info. or give them any info over the phone. Read up on your rights, and also file reports with the FTC,FCC,FBI and state attorney general!  There are numerous threads here with same scenario - extortion - these outfits are breaking so many laws.  

Accordingly, they have like 30 day's to send you proof in writing via snail mail, not fax, not email or phone.

just got a call from a Sean Davis who said he works for a law firm and how I owed money from a "cash advance" and I had to pay today or else charges would be filed tomorrow for 'grand theft' and 'worthless checks',or I would go to jail. As soon as I handed the phone to my husband,it became clear it was a scam. He insisted I pay with a pre-paid card. When we asked for his address,he became beligerent. Please protect yourself at all times.

got a call same as others dating his name is Sean I was going to go 2 jailwhen who is this he hung up on me.call back again I asked who it was him againhe hung up on me now when I call back all I get is a busy signal I will refer this to my attorney

Got a call from the same number and he said he was "Shawn" from some law firm about a law suit they have for some cash advance place for a loan I didn't even have.  I told him that this was a scam and I did not borrow the money.  Then he hung up.  When I called the number back, I asked him to tell me where they were located and spell the name of the law firm.  He hung up again.

Got a call from this number saying he was from this law firm regarding a lawsuit they received about a loan from some cash advance place that I did not pay back.  When I told him this was a scam and I did not take out a loan they hung up.  I called the number back and this guy "Shawn" said he was with "convention and barley, llc" and it was a law firm.  When I questioned where they were located and how do you spell the name he hung up.  When I called back again the number was busy.

i got a call from this number and they are talking about they are from some law firm, saying that im about to go to jail for some money that i didnt even borrow from them please keep in mind that we dont go to jail for debt only when permitting a real crime.
