Thye had very thick accents and one had trouble reading their fake script.  I contacted IRS and gave fake nuimber everone has  already reported today-- I hope they go to jail-

I just had the same guy call me & he was rather rude when I told him that a certified letter not issued by the P.O. would incur a notice to pick it up at the post office. He had broken speech & was hard to understand.

This call was said I was in trouble, a foreighner sounding person.  Stating I need to get ahold of them right away.  They needed my social security number.  I hung up.

I got a call today just recently from 202-751-2562 saying they are calling in regards to tax fraud and that I need to call that same number. The scary thing is they knew my name and asked "Is this (my name)?" That means my (along with other scam victims') info is out there on the black market.

Man called strong accent (Indian I believe) said he was calling from IRS legal dept because a document had been filed with their office for tax fraud, and before things get really bad for me i need to call him. Name he left was Mark Johnson. When I called today, the call went to a voicemail no identification

My husband just got the same message on our home answering machine the caller said he was Ken Gaston (very thick middle eastern accent) said he was from the IRS legal dept and that a legal application for fraud under his name and ss # were going to be filed so before he gets into any more trouble he needed to call 202-751-2562, I called it just said leave a message?.Lying, cheating low life scum who have nothing better to do but try to rip people off!!

He called me as well and left 2 voicemails saying the same thing from the same number and I called back and told him I was recording the phone call and have contacted my lawyer and he said that i have a warrant out for my arrest and so I called my local police and they came to my house and called him and asked for his federal ID number # and he hung up on him. The police said for everyone to turn him in.

Received the same caller Mark Johnson he left a message on my answering machine for my son, stating that he was from the IRS Legal Dept. and that a fraud case had been filed against my son's SS number and that he is to call back the 202 751 2562 number.

This is a scam. The irs will never call you. Pls report to above number

My mother received a call from this number today. The man leaving a message had a very thick Middle Eastern or Indian accent and claimed that fraudulent tax forms had been filed in her name and she should call back immediately. Obviously, the IRS would be contacting someone from a legitimate 1-800 or 800 number that could be traced to the federal government. The IRS, however, very rarely contacts you by phone. Be aware of this scam everyone!

Just received the same call with the same story. Trying to report them

I also received two messages from this number stating they were from the IRS legal dept and a fraud claim had been filed against my SS number. I needed to call them immediately . Stated his name was Armond or something like this. Very hard to understand.

Received the same call--i called  the tv station to report it and they said they would check it out.  then it was mentioned in the news that night

What bothers me the most is they ad my work email address and my home address.

Is there anywhere to call and report them.  When I called back they answered the phone  The next guy was named John Wilson.  Same number and same pitch.  There has to be something that can be done.

What you do is ignore the pathetic scammers. Or block their numbers. They're beneath contempt. The lice that infest their bodies are far more intelligent than they are and are of far better moral character.

got a call, they told me nearest sheriff is on their way to arrest me..dont know what to do asking for $2200

I just received the same call, same name.  I told him to send me a letter, he said they did in September but nobody was home so it was returned.  I told him that most certified letters leave a notice and you go pick it up at the post office to sign.  I asked him to resend.  He said he would resend to my local sheriffs office via fax and when I was arrested it  would be delivered to me.  Unreal!  I wish I knew where to report this.

Caller: said he was from an agency for Dept. of Revenue and IRS has filled a case against me. He also ask me that if I have a lawyer.
I said: I know your a fraud and it IRS has something to tell me about me then they will send me a letter.
Caller: We did sent you a letter
I said: I never got an letter from you. and i know your an fraud so, stop calling me and stop making up everything
Caller: Hangs up the phone :)

caller said he was from Dept of Revenue and I must call back because Im defrauding the government.
