I am Matthew Ervin, the President of Plum Group. A post on this site claims that I am responsible for calls from these numbers. Nope.

In addition to publishing my personal info and that of my family (how's that for annoying), the post is also motivated by an unfounded premise. Plum did not initiate these calls, nor did Plum create any of the content, polls, whatever. Plum is not the mother company of “Pollrsrch13”, whoever that may be.

Plum is a software-as-a-service company that provides technology to enable customer service applications. It appears that some rogue entity has abused this technology to spoof and make unwanted calls. This is strictly against our terms of service with our enterprise clients. We are attempting to identify the rogue party responsible, and in the meantime are offering advice to any consumers who may have been called.

If the calls continue, contact your carrier and have them block calls from these numbers.

I just got a call from this number with a voice mail.   'This is a political survey'  We might call back later'   Oh joy!

I know there's a lot of info here but if you call THEM at home (even better...call their neighbors), they MAY just get what it's like for us.I spent 2 hrs. gathering this so do with it as you wish.

Political call.  Election is tomorrow for state primaries.  

Third call today from this number. Did't answer any of them. I check this website to find out which scam Ii may be.  Looks as if this number is used for many.  We pay exorbitant prices for phone services and deserve better than this. May 27 & 28 received fourteen unwanted or scam/spoof calls so far ( but it's only 6:30). There needs to be a solution for this ridiculous situation. As consumers we are preyed upon from all angles and our service providers are complicit in this. They could certainly do something about it if they began losing more customers.  My provider told me if I cancelled, my cost would not be much lower as they would still need to service the phone lines. I believe this to be bogus and thoroughly dishonest. Who do we complain to after reporting these issues and no one wants to do anything about it? I can only surmise that money is being made all round and we,poor devils, have to "grimace and bear it".

Not all of these political survey calls are random or Robo calls.  I live in Orange County Florida and am a registered voter.  Little did I know that Orange County Elections Commission actually sells or gives away all of my personal and voter history to basically anyone who asks for it and has some spare change.  My recent contact with OCF Elections got this response...

"The Orange County Supervisor of Elections office does not have the latitude to deny public records requests for information that falls under the purview of public records as defined by Florida Statutes. Many years ago, voter file information was exempt from disclosure to all but qualified candidates, political parties, political committees, and other entities of that nature. The Florida Legislature subsequently changed the accessibility of voter file information so that non-exempt voter file information is now available to any requestor."

There is an option to opt out and STOP the Elections Commission from sharing your personal information and perhaps cease or at least reduce political calls and surveys such as these.  You have to check your own county opting out options.  This, in my case, is for Orange County Florida.

Oh, I I love to give them completely wrong opinions on everything them ask.  I will answer correctly for 100 bucks an answer.

202-769-0477 (Caller ID: POLLRSRCH13).  From reading the caller ID name, one would think this is Political Research for Channel 13.  I really don't give a rats a** who the Hell you are.  Blanket robo calls to the Orlando, Florida area.  I'm never going to answer and I haven't had an answering machine in years, so you're just pissing in the wind with your worthless calls.  Eat s*** and die...that's my vote.

"Pollrsrch13" played a negative recording about a Texas candidate running in today's election.

and I want an app that not only lets me block individual numbers but ENTIRE AREA CODES.

Definitely political and definitely ANNOYING!!!!!!!!

GOP related and almost enough to make me want to vote for the other side just to register my discontent.

I dunno. If they're spoofing numbers, then they're doing it wrong- by my understanding of spoofing, at least.

These guys keep using the same number, and it's labelled PollResearch13 on the CID. It's a professional polling company. Well, not 'professional' professional - they unprofessionally harass the public on behalf of their clients.

But if they were spoofing they'd be using the number of a different unsuspecting telephone customer each time to trick people about where the call was coming from & not CIDing themselves as a polling outfit.

Got call from this but they did not leave a message.

I've been receiving several calls from this number for the past month, from David Dewhurst campaign in Texas to vote for him even though I live in Louisiana and this is a Louisiana number.

Oh B* SH* ...... do you think you're lecturing a bunch of looney toons?  If what was stated in the "news item" were true then the WG&L wouldn't be making these calls all over the country.  It OBVIOUSLY is a scam operation which may or may not have spoofed the number 1-202-769-0477.  The simple recourse is to just BLOCK the number. And you ignorant slimeball weasels that jump in to defend these perps go take a flying..........

I AM A DEMOCRAT!!    why are these people asking me to help his campaign.  they called 2 times within 1/2 hour to give annoying poll.   I AM TIRED OF THEM HARASSING.

I just got a call from this number concerning whether or not I believed in for profit schools, and should they be subjected to government regulations-- a supposed political survey.  However, the survey only wanted yes or no answered on an issue which certainly cannot be reduced to a handful of trite questions.  I do not know what idiots design such.  Proprietary schools, colleges and universities involve broader issues than can be reduced to five or six simplistic questions.  However, whomever is designing these surveys has a very limited understanding of these things, anyway-- or so I can surmise.  Also, apparently, this number does float around, and may be spoofed or used by any number of fools for some nefarious purpose.  However, such surveys really are a waste of time.

+1 202-769-0477 on caller ID. Automated asking if I was registered to vote. Then said they may call back later. Getting calls one or two times the last 4 days.
