I got a call from some Indian-sounding guy who said "your computer has malware on it" and I told him he had the wrong number.  Then he yelled that he had the right number and I just hung up on him.

Pathetic scum... looking for people to con and steal their identities probably.  I'm on the Do Not Call list like most everyone else here is.

For those who run into serious issues (calls at midnight, repeated calls) I'd recommend googling call filtering services.. some phones can skip ringing for numbers not in the phone book.  Or try Google Voice.

Same thing.  May 8th, received a call at 10:30 at night.  Caller ID District of Columbia.  Why can't these people be stopped????

Our phone rang at 11:35 pm - awoken from sleep - picked it up and someone hung up.

called at 10:10 pm message about health insurance and press 1 to qualify.  I guess do not call list means nothing.

This number 202-783-6639 District of Columbia, DC, called at 11:30pm. I jump up to answer thinking it was an emergency and it was a recorded message for medical insurance. Push # 1 for sign up or # 9 to stop receiving calls from them. I did nothing till it disconnected. I was furious for a call close to midnight.  I tried to call the number back and AT&T says out of service

We are recieving repeated calls from this number, late at night 11:00 pm etc.

We got a call at 11:45 pm last night. How frightening to gave the phone ring at that time. When I try to call 2027836639, it does not even ring. How do we get this blocked?

My call for medicaid came at 11:50 tonight. I'm not even elligible.

A call just came in at 11:50pm ESTfrom this number!!  Midnight calls from these people?  They are out of control........................

I got a call from this number at 10:23 PM this evening !!! I answered out of pure curiousity ( who the he!! calls at 10:23 at night ?
A recording told me about new health benefits available for qualifying families, free medicine, blahblahblah (sounded like an Obamascam). Told me to press 1 for more info, 9 to decline.
Hung up.

Got this call 11:30PM on a Friday night!  Prerecorded mssg about eligibility for Medicaid.  Junk.

These a***oles called my house after 10:15 pm what nerve of these sales maggots!

I'm doing what my grandma told me many, many years ago.  I bought a fog horn!  She told me to have one by the phone, in case someone calls and harasses me.  Everybody get one and let's see if we can make them all scream!

Unfortunately, you can't get them to stop.  They call from hundreds of different numbers, states, and names.  I just don't answer them anymore.  Sometimes, they leave a recorded message, "blah, blah, blah.....this is your last chance to reduce the interest rate.....blah, blah, blah"  Well, if it's the LAST CHANCE, why do they continue to call me?!  lol

They don't leave a message and call late at night.  STOP THESE MOTH******ERS!!!!
Why is there a do not call list if you people can't shield us from harassing , unwanted phone calls???!

Guess what?!  I did too received this call and many times before... I don't answer but now I know who the hell it's from.

(  calls  originate  form offshore   locations  and   countries  known  for  these actions ).

NEVER   EVER  call back  any  number...........by  doing  so  you  do  nothing  but  verify  YOUR  number  is  valid...and  th e problems  will only  get  worse................just  ignore  etc  etc....

They called did not answer when i called back it said the number was not in service. How can this be i called it right back?

Received a call from 202-783-6639 on 5/1/12 at 3 pm. Caller ID said "Wasington, DC". They did not leave a message. When I called them back, I received an not-in-service message.

offer to reduce my rates.  told them when i got the card that they were taking a chance.  after all, they pulled my credit report, saw my payment history, and gave me a card anyway.  now they act surprised and upset when i do not pay the bill.
one company called and told me it was the last time they would be calling about my past due bill.  told them good, because i was getting tired of their calls, and they should have realized by now i was not going to pay.  better luck with the next guy they give a card to.

I hit the 1 button to talk to a human to remove me from their list and she said, "Mam, please!!" and hung up ON ME...I was FURIOUS!  It was the 202-783-6639 number...THE NERVE of her!

We just received a call from this number, and I did not answer it. We have been receiving so many this year, and we are on the Do Not Call List (landlines as well as both cell phones). The last call I received from one of these places, I yelled at the guy twice & told him to remove us from their list & we were on the Do not call list. So far, he has not called back, but I'm sure it won't be long,& they will start up again. I have to ask this question, what good does it do to list your phone numbers on the Do Not Call List then these people continue to call you? If this person (202-783-6639) calls back tonight from Washington DC, they are going to get an earful of remove us from your list. This is so frustrating!

some  are landlines...many  are  cell phones...some  are  spoofed  and  linked  to  offshore foreign  countries !!!!

here's a  few  other  numbers  posted  from  the   same  area  code  offering a  wide  variety  of  scams  /  free  money / scam  giveaways / humane  society  etc  etc.....stories  change  out  all the  time......and  the  usual  nonsense!!!


we've  traced back  several  numbers  to  OFFSHORE  fraud  scammers  in  INDIA /  THAILAND  etc.....

**   mysteriously  call to  claim  they  have  several  thousand  of  dollars  to  send  you....just  provide  you  bank  account and  credit  card   right  away   etc etc.........scam scam

I have received these calls from this number repeatedly over the past year.
How can I get the calls to stop?

I just recieved a call from them for what seems tlike the 100th time.  I hit 1 to speak with an operator in order to stop these calls as nothing else seems to work.  He had the nerve to tell me what I did wasl illegal & would be fined $500!!
