I also received a phone call this morning but mine was from 202 800 9388

I received the same call. It was a poor attempt at an electronic "robo" call.
These people are scum of the earth. Obama and his cronies need to spend their time on problems like this. That is what they are supposed to do!

This number called yesterday 2/28 and left a message. Not going to call back. Thanks for the heads up.

I got the same call this morning on my answering machine. These people are a mess.

I received the same call and then I called thirs myself to see what was going on.  They asked me for $200 dollars to send western union r go to a CVS or 7-11 and get a green dot card and send them the money.

I received this call this morning 2/26/13. I told them I was going to contact my lawyer and get back with them!!! SCAM from hell!!!

I received a call from this number and I didnt answer it. So they left me a message about calling them to verify my creditials then they will load my money to my account. I called the number from my work phone and the man on the other end is telling me I owed the IRS because they reveiwed my last 5 years of tax returns. I told him that I have not gotten any letters or anything so no I don't owe them.

I also got the same message on my cell phone,  I use HR block.  I totally think it is a scam  BEWARE

I got the same call a few minutes ago only when I asked who I was speaking to he said my 11yr old sons name as his own. Then he gave me my entire ss#. Just wondering who to call I know the irs but can't find a number.

I just got the same message.  I know that I have not made any errors in over 15 years, but the amount was 2173 just the rest of yours.  I smell scam.  I use Turbo tax, maybe this is the connection?

Big time scam. I was told the very same amount $2173. When I called the number back the "IRS" representative told me that I had made errors on my past returns over the last 5 years and so I would be receiving this $2173 refund within 2 days. He tried to get me to give him a bank routing and account number to deposit the money to. When I refused he said he could mail the check BUT first I had to pay a penalty of $190 for making errors. He asked me to load the $190 fee on a Greendot Moneypak and then he could release the funds. I told him I don't know how to do that and he told me to go to Kmart or CVS and they would help me figure it out and call him back tomorrow. I said OK and he just hung up. LOL. SCAM - they also called from 3018873758. The scary part is he did have the last 4 digits of my SSN and my complete home address. Beware!

I just got the same call but wanted 200.00 back to them.....good thing I work at a bank and I know a scam when I see one!

I got the same call today at work they left a voice message and said that they were from the IRS and I needed to contact them regarding an additional $2,173 that would be added to my refund.  I called them back and spoke with Alex Matthew and Mike Wagner because I kept getting disconnected.  They wanted to confirm my name and my date of birth.  I told them that I wanted to speak to a supervisor because I kept getting disconnected and they said one was not available, but gave me a disconnected 800-420-3911 number for the IRS to call to inquire, if I didn't believe them.  I called the number and got a foreign recorded message saying that the number was disconnected.  I went online to do a reverse look up of this number and got all these complaints.  Thank God I did.  Peace.

I got the same message as everyone here, i thought it to be crazy since i habnt evn filed yet how could i be getting a refund? And i owe frm last year. These people are scamers!J6V3

I just received an automated message stating that it is the IRS and that I am getting an additional $2073 refund.  However, I need to call the number back so they can verify my identity.  I called the number back and a gentelman with an Asian accent (I believe) answered "IRS".  I asked if you give me his credentials and he answered "no Maam" and hung up the phone.

I got the call and the message so I called back to mess with them a bit.  The guy said he was IRS I asked where he was located and he said Sri Lanka?!  So I pushed him more and he tried to say he was with the IRS OF srilanka haha.  I said okay then call people in Sri Lanka with some more colorful language.  I feel bad that these people actually fool some people.  Report them.

I just got the same exact call with all of the exact amounts. after verifying my infor i was wondering how they have my last 4 of my social and home address. So I asked Where did you say you were calling from again? They hung up on me smh I can't stand bs!

I got the same call at 5 am in the m orning they left a message saying it was the IRS and I laughed because this year taxes were already recieved and this year I had an offset to my taxes and if I owe the IRS they take it out of my refund and send me the balance and If I got to send anybody any money they better take it out of where they can get it from except me

I got exactly the same call saying they were the IRS and was due the same exact additional refund amount of $2173. I knew something was not right with it. It is so sad that people get paid to scam others.

My fiance got a call today about 1hr ago from someone claiming to be from the IRS looking for me stating I had additional money to be refunded.

got the same call at 0600 hours.  pretty sure the irs wouldn't be calling before legally able to. made me want to check.  thank you all for the information.

i recieved same call from the same guy. i know the irs number, it comes up as toll free 800 number. i informed john hudson that i will be reporting him to the fcc, fbi, doj,and any other acronymns i could think of.

I got the same call today... And its a for sure scam... I hung up on him, and he called me back 8 times in a roll..... Its so crazy...

I recieved a call today, 02/19/13 from this number, They left this automated message:

We wanted to inform you of an additional refund of $2173.00 to be paid to you. As a measure of security we require you to call our department of verification @ 202-800-7738. Your refund will be credited to your account once we verify your credentials.  I called it back and it said my call was unable to be dialed at this time. I tried twice...same answer so I decided to look this number up and I glad I did. How do we report this to the IRS?

I got a call from this # stating we had a refund coming to us due to an error our tax person had made! Well I called our tax lady this is a SCAM because the IRS will not call you. They will contact you by mail. I thought it was funny they were calling because anything we've ever gotten from them as far as communication has been by mail only. WTF useless lazy people trying to scam the hardworking!!!
