I have been trying to get scammed all different types of ways, my mail, claiming they want to consolidate my debt, which in the long run was going to cost me more, I have people come to my home claiming to be AT&T reps, but no business card or # to call back, I have learned my lesson, I talked to a lawyer& you are not obligated to answer the phone.  If its important they will leave a message.  Scam artists never do because that is how they get caught in court, so if I don't know the # I don't answer.  Lesson learned, the hard way. Yes, this same scam artist called me. I didnt answer.

I got a call, no message, 4 days after getting a verification code texted from google

did not answer.  left vm trying to sell vehicle warranty insurance. deleted.

Had this number call me and I just got it relatively recently. Happened after I had google text me a verification code to set up gmail. If the two are related, I'll be pissed.

Just called my land line which I only use for FAXing. No one has this number. Call came from Washington DC. They are just randomly calling phone #'s. Call came in at 12:30 PM Central time.

Call from 202-803-4978 about my "Vehicle Warranty has expired"

Got a call and canceled it. Left a vm but it was a second of slight noise then disconected

I believe these may be some kind of scam artist if they are talking about vehicle warranties expiring. I got a missed call on my cell from the same number but I let it go to voice mail. They left no message.

usual AND  never ending  fake /  fraud  / bogus /   scam  /  fraud  calls   ringing  in  with a  "  202"  area  code  !!!

more  than likely   (  99  %  )   one   of  the   several   "  202"  area  code  fraud  scams   going  around !!!

PLEASE  NOTE !!!   THESE  SCAMMERS  ARE ALSO IMPERSONATING   THE  US  GOV'T /  SEVERAL  GOV'T  OFFICES AND   PERSONS....BEWARE !!!

- also  impersonating    US  MARSHALLS /   DEA AND  DRUG  ENFORCEMENT  etc....

some  are landlines...many  are  cell phones...some  are  spoofed  and  linked  to  offshore foreign countries !!!!

we've  traced  back  most  of  these  numbers  to  offshore  foreign    call centers  in  INDIA /  THAILAND / AFRICA  /  JAMAICA  ETC....

here's a  few  other  numbers  posted  from  the   same  area  code  offering a  wide  variety  of  scams  /  fake  emails and  scams  after  posting  something  on   craigslist   (  old  scam  )  ...... collecting  for  non  existant  "  payday  loans "....free  money / scam  giveaways /  $1,000's  in  free  gov't  money /  fake   vehicle  extended  warranties  etc.............  etc  etc.....stories  change  out  all the  time......and  the  usual  nonsense!!!

**   mysteriously  call to  claim  they  have  several  thousand  of  dollars  to  send  you....just  provide  you  bank  account and  credit  card   right  away   etc etc.........scam scam

several  of  these are  the  usual   long  ongoing  scams   such  as  :  you  have  won a  free  walmart /  bestbuy  gift  card....or  you  have  won a  free  ipad  etc......all  long  ongoing  scams

Just got a call on my cell from this number at 3:15pm west coast and let it got to vm. The voicemail was about my vehicle warranty being expired. It was not a human just a pre-recorded message. Sick of telemarketers calling my cell!!!

Do not want trash calling my phone period. People have enough without these stupid calls.

automatic message that said my auto warranty was about to expire.  I hung up.  I don't have an auto warranty.

Just got a call from the same number. Was at a funeral at the time and didnt know anyone from DC! I have anew phone number and had hoped to be able to use it for awhile before it started to get scam phone calls! Need to add it to the Do Not Call List! Thanks for all those before me who have written and offered their advice and comments! Its always nice to know there are citizens who are keeping an eye on things!!

Same thing.  Phone call on 3/16/13.  No mesg left. But this is a brand new at&t work cell number.  They need to be stopped.

thank god you guys are having issues with this number as well. at least i can eliminate the stalker possibility (had bad experiences with this already...). got the call yesterday at 4pm on 3/15.

I was awoken by my cell phone ringing and said that this specific number was calling. It was an unfamiliar number to me and I didn't answer and went back to sleep. By the looks of the rest of the comments, it seems like it is a telemarketer scam saying your car's warranty has expired. I do not even own a car.

Called my cell, recorded message saying my vehicle warranty had expired. Yep - I have a 1995 mercury. Thank you.

called today also no message. believe to be calling on vehicle warranty....have had this phone number call before....SCAM... possible telemarket ....when called back automated and has options to DO NOT CALL.... etc......do be careful there is a scam out there involving vehicle warranties....also could be people who follow those who have credit problems or have filed for bankruptcy and get info from the debt credit counseling .....just be careful

If you call the number back there's an option to be put on their do not call list.
