Received a voice message from a person claiming to be officer Jack Wilson from Federal Crime Enforcement Network, stating that there was a complaint against me and need to call back at 202 864 0297 else I could be arrested.

I received this second time.. Shameless idiot called me and same bla bla.. I asked him who he is and what is designation.. From his accent, I know this guy is not an US citizen and I asked him what his badge number and he immediately said he is tranferring the call to his boss.. I hung up..They called me two minutes after but I did not pick up.. This is going on for a long and they are using fome VOIP software to call specially Indians whose their target is... Idoits  they waste theirs and ours time as well.

Got the same call as everyone else on this thread. First from "Thomas O'Brien" and then when I asked to speak to his manager it was "Michael Black".  When I asked if they were actually from India, he said, "no, Pakistan." He wouldn't get off the phone even though our conversation became ridiculous and it was probably quite clear to him that I would not be giving him a Debit Card number. What a nuisance. I reported them online to the FTC and IRS but doubtful they can do anything so I really hope noone is falling for this idiotic scam.

I received this same VM today I want to report him.  They should through him in Jail.

Received three voice mail messages and one of them came from 202-864-0297.  All three messages essentially said that the speaker is an IRS agent with the Crime Investigation Unit and that I should call back immediately or else risk arrest.  The last one said "If you do not answer this call all I can say is good luck as the situation unfolds."  

The IRS website specifically states that it will never initiate contact with taxpayers via email or telephone calls.  All IRS communication is by written mail.  As per the IRS website I confirmed that I had no legal issue with them.  

These callers come off as very uneducated and rough.  I checked the phones and all of them are cell phone numbers.

YEp Same deal.. horrible accent asking about my Hubby and asking me do you have any idea why there is a arrest warrent of your husband. I said you are calling me so you should know. Then he started saying do you want the police to come by your door in next 45 mins and arrest him. If not you should cooparate.. seriously! I said you know what why don't you send the Police officer it will be better talking to him than you.
So many complains what the heck is this .. anyone found out what we can do to stop these morons???

I got the exact message and called the number given. Went to the sheriff's office and it seems it is a scam. Do any of you got the call on Vonage line, Ooma, any other VOIP or on a direct landline?

I got a call from 408 678 9000 asking me to contact Michael Black @ the above mentioned number 202 864 0297. The guy speaking from the 408 number identified himself as a deputy Police officer from the Santa Clara county sheriffs office and told me that there was a federal complaint from a federal office Michael Black and that I should immediately contact him at the 202 area code number to avoid legal problems

got a call from 408 6789000. The caller identified himself as Deputy Connor of Santa Clara County Sheriff's office. Asked us to call 202 864 0297. Specifically mentioned my husband's name. Had received a federal complaint and would be arrested if not respond within next 1/2 hour.

Indian guy trying to fake US accent. what if this guy is actually based in India? can the warrant be issued in India and he/they get extradited to the US?

This (202) 864-0297, showed up as Washington DC on caller ID, number called asking for a physician in my office. He spoke with a thick, nasal sounding, middle eastern accient and self identified as Office Mike Sped. He claimed there was a formal compliant issued against the physician and that he needed to call him back right away. I jotted the number thinking this was unusual. Then, he asked for the number to be repeated. Very strange, will not be sharing this number with my staff.

I am getting calls from this number as well, i reported to police but nothing has happened, i believe there is no one who can control these idiots.

I just spoke to an indian man claiming his name is officer jack gates this post helped to know that this number is scamed so i went with the flow until he asked me for 1300$ for the goverment then i confornted him he told me that is a Company they've been doing this for 6 years they make 100k  a month for 6 years

First they called and said they are calling from federal allegation agency and stated that I got a complaint for identity theft then threatened to call the police to arrest me. Then I called back and they said that I owed tax money and need to pay immediately.

This is the second time we have received a call from 202 864 0297, a person with a very heavy accent and threatening messages.  He goes on and on, not professional at all.  Asked to contact Shawn Woods asap otherwise police will be sent home to get me arrested.  The called ID on my phone was 916 593 1700.  I called that number and it is an invalid number.  Do not respond to any calls from these numbers.  They are a spam!

This guy left me a message today at 12:17 p.m. Here's the message he left on voice mail. He has a heavy accent and weird Pronunciation of words.

"This message is intended for RS.  My name is officer Jack Wilson calling from Federal crime enforcement network. The reason of the call is in reference to a case and a complaint that has been filed on your name and against your identity . So the very second you receive this message. I want you to give me a call and notify  yourself on my number that is 2028460297. I repeat that's 2028460297. If you fail to return my call then situation unfolds on you and you might get arrested for this chargers. So don't disregard this message and do return the call. This is officer Jack Benson calling from federal-crimes and enforcement network . Thank you."

got two of these calls. One from this number and one from a different 202-864- number.  Same story as told above.  So stupid.  Like anyone is going to believe this clown.

I'm so sick and tired of these annoying scams, it's the same routine every time. A person with the thickest foreign accent I've ever heard in my life calls and says there's a "warrant under my identity" and if I don't call back I can be arrested. To be completely honest, I can't understand half the words this twit is saying. Sometimes I get people claiming to be the IRS, FBI, and other subdivisions of the DOJ. I'll receive 3 or 4 calls a day from these con artists and I'm absolutely fed up.

Got a call from this number and the person calls himself David / coner  started harassing

He can't speak good English but says he works in federal agency.

This guy is  shameless and bothers people.  Awful accent and so persistent and not convincing.  He may be giving one area code but actually calling from another.  Someone needs to take action and arrest this guy.  We will be reporting it to the FEDS soon so if you  are the guy whose calling  and reading this  you will hear  soon.

Anyone who is getting a call from this # on IRS I61 Form   they should report it to IRS.  IRS does know about this scam and they are asking people to report the #s,  outside of 202-864-0297, these scammers use #s with NY/NJ Area code as well.

Just received that same call. Where do I file a complaint?
