've been getting the same message from these people about a credit card account. Normally I miss the call so I just hear the message and don't think about it, though I was worried because I don't have a credit card, right now I'm going through an identity theft process. And these people called today. I waited and pressed one. The man said, "Hello." I responded, "You have a credit card listed under my name and I did not sign up for a card." He chuckled then said, "You mean you didn't just purchase that 250,000 Maserati!" and hung up. I was confused and pissed! I came online to see if a business would pop up when I googled this number. No, it's a scam they want you're information DO NOT GIVE THEM ANYTHING!
Just wish I could block this number(and any alternates that they use) so I wouldn't have to deal with these calls.

I've gotten several calls from this bogus operation.  Why don't they get a real job, like selling drugs?  At least drug dealers are honest.

I received 2 calls from 1-202-870-5282 on 9/28/2009 and 9/29/2009. I listened to 2nd one, a recorded "Hello, This is Rachel". "This is about your credit cards" or something like that. "There is no problem with your credit accounts now. Call the following number to protect your . . . ". Of course, I did not follow any further.

CHECKING MY CALLER ID AND NOTICED THAT THIS PHONE NUMBER  202 870-5282 CAME UP AND HAD 'FRAUD'WAS THE CALLER.

This is probably a number from a debt collector or telemarketer.  Theses industries buy numbers like this and use them as ANI numbers (numbers that appear on caller ID) but are not normally real numbers (unless they program them to reach an agent).  They are designed to confuse the debtor or prospect into answering the phone, as opposed to ignoring 800 #'s and or unknown callers.  I have ben in the industry nearly two decades, so believe it.

mine is a work cell and i dont own any credit cards.  wether i press 1 to speak with someone or 3 to be off this list, the current call ends but the calls dont stop coming.

I am glad for people like you who post this kind of information. I keep getting phone calls too and when I told them I have no credit card nor applied for one, they hung up on me too. I tried to call them back just to see what kind of credit card company it is and to have them stop calling but I can't get to a live person.

Unwanted call from this number about lowering my credit card interest rate.  I did not press "1" as instructed.

People called stating lower rates on credit cards and when the person got on the line I asked them to please stop calling me and the person started calling me an a***ole and a p**sy. The person then laughed and hung up. Something has to be done about calls like these

If you have a cell phone, go to that number and then click on options and there should be a text in there that says block unwanted number, then of course you say yes. :0)

Got a call from this number, (dad did aswell 3days before so i already read these posts about the number) pressed 1, guy said comething about being with my credit card company, told him "I'm with the F.B.I. and we know this number is involved with fraud attempts and are tracing it as we speak" he  whispered something like "oh s***" and hung up.  I laughed my a** off too

This is priceless. Got a live person when I pressed "1" and I immediately started telling him I was on state and fed. no call lists. He swore at me
and hung up. The called ID reads "FRAUD"!

I got a call on this number..it came op with a caller ID of  "FRAUD" I checked with Google first and saw these posts so I did not call it back..

I got a call to day from this number. When I called back, there is a very weird noise.

I have sent messages to one our senator critizing his votes on issues and stating when he comes up for election we will get rid of him and others, that won't listen to them. This is a number checking out those that disagree with the congress and senate. I believe that they are trying to keep a check on us that they don't believe are true americans

Same problem everyone's having. I got the call, pressed 1, said, "Yeah, are you guys a credit card company." Then they hung up on me.

They called today. Automated voice stated they could lower my interest rate on credit cards. Press 1 to speak with rep. I pressed 1. Some guy answers the phone and said. "Hi credit card services how can I help you". I said to him, "You called me" he aksed if I would like to lower my interest rate on a credit card. So I asked him which one. The he hung up.

I just received a call from this number and after a similar one a few days ago I stayed online after the message played to talk to an individual. They asked if I wanted to lower my monthly credit card interest rates then proceeded to ask how much credit card debit I had. After replying that I had none they hung up on me. When I tried to call back to ask to be taken off their calling list there was no answer.

Also have got these calls and am not answering them. From 202-870-5282 Now I am also not going to call back... Sees like like it is a scam.

I too received a call from 202-870-5282 on December 16.  I didn't answer it nor call it back.  Sounds like it covered a wide area.  Very frustrating getting unwanted calls.

I received a call from this number on my cell.  I returned only to be told that the number "000-000-0000 had been changed to......"  Never gave a new number.  It is  a D.C. area code.

DO NOT ANSWER any questions from these people! I pressed 1 as the recording stated to tell a person to put me on their do not call list. When I spoke to a person, instead of saying she would put my number on  their list, she asked me "Who was the president after FDR?". I did not answer, but if I had, they would have a recording of me saying "Truman", which they could use as me saying "true" as a positive response agreeing to buy something or place charge on my phone bill.

Received a call on my cell and did not recognize the number; ergo, did not answer it.  How do they get the cell numbers to make these unwanted calls?

I just recieved the same call and didn't answer no voicemail was left and when i  called it back i herd the repeating zeros... has anyone talked to an actual person over the phone when ansered..... Whats the point of their call??

i just got the same call from 202-870-5282, i didn't answer and when i called back it was the same answer, zero, zero, zero, zero, something very weird and it's not the first time it happens, yesterday i got a call from 917-793-5628 and over the weekend the same thing happen, as always when you try to reach them back and find out what's going on you always get the same answer, either zero, zero, zero or it says right away that the line is busy or the line is not reachable, i hope this stop or at least help others to not answer
