Called twice to my land line. When answering the phone no one talks on their end. Stopped answering the phone when I see the number.

I have tried to call back, and I get a message that the number is no longer in service.
The area code appears to be the Washington, DC area, so I suspect this might be
a political call, or fund raising call. Its very suspicious that they don't leave a message
or have a number that can be called back or identified. Whoever they represent, their
credibility is zero with me.

as far as i am concerned everytime one of thses phone numbers call me i have been reporting them to my phone company. when they call twice the company sends out letters to them to stop or legal action will be started. so far it has worked

I received a call from this number to (Sunday, March 18, 2012) at 7:00 PM. It came up on my caller ID as "wireless caller". I didn't answer and they left no message. The area code "202" is from the Washington D.C area.

Recieved 2 calls today (Sunday March 18, 2012) from this number. The first one I didn't answer personally, but my answering machine did. The caller appeared to still be on the line, but didn't leave a message. Recieved another call from this number about an hour later and this time I answered it. Still no one spoke as I said hello and waited several times. I don't understand the purpose of calls like this, other than to be an occasional irritation.

I also received a call from this number. It came up with number ID only and no message. Fortunately, I have the ability to block the number.
BTW - political parties AND opinion polls are EXEMPT from the National Do Not Call registry. Found that out recently when I asked an "opinion" poll company to remove my number and informed them my number was on the list. They say they will remove it but cannot guarantee it will not be re-added...it's called a loophole in the law, my friends. "Opinion" polls are simply to gather information about you that CAN be sold to marketing companies - they aren't technically trying to sell you anything.
THEN the marketing companies can make calls until you notify them you are on the Do Not Call list by pleading "ignorance" to you being on the list. The law only kicks in when they make multiple calls AFTER you've notified them you are on the list. It's ONLY when you say the words "Remove me from you call list" that they have to remove you. If you say, "Don't call me" they don't have to remove you. My son worked for a phone marketing company for a short time and that's how I learned that trick.

03/16/2012 @ 7:50 PM ~ This phone number called my home line. Came up on my Caller ID as: WIRELESS CALLER (only) and the phone number. I'm in a suburb of Denver. Whether coincidence
or irony, not 5 minutes before they called ... I had just received another phone call from a Denver number (caller identity not shown on my caller id) and I attempted to answer that call ... it was just
dead silence on the other end of the line when I said "Hello? Hello?". Neither caller left a message. I have a gut feeling the last call was politically affiliated, but not positive. In November, I changed my party affiliation to "Independent" ... sadly enough, because during last elections the Republican Party rang/texted my cell phone OFF THE HOOK at all hours & day after day (even if I answered the call & politely asked them to only mail correspondence in the future).

Just kept calling. Only number was shown on caller ID. No message.

It irritates me that people keep dialing my number then there is no one there to answer. I suspect this is the person who is calling me 4-5 times a day.
