I found how to get rid of this caller - American Institute for Cancer Research. The calls are placed by InfoCision. Contact the Better Business Bureau, Wise Gift Alliance Department, in Washington, D.C. (area code 202) and file a complaint. Explain in detail what is going on, including asking to be taken off the calling list and all telephone numbers used (I know of six). The BBB will then contact AICR and in a week or so you will receive an e-mail telling you that your number has been removed from their calling list. You might also want to read an article about them at http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2012-09-12/char ... lemarketer.html.

3-4 calls per day american institute for cancer research, on going for weeks all hours, been forced to unplug phone, fruitless efforts, going to try another avenue. They never talk just continue to call.
No Kidding! That must be BIG SHOTSagain!
Why don't you tell Jehaad Musab and Musad Jehaad to go out on a date with MAMA ElSA ,so they could cover her face with a black sheet and leave out the hole for the eyes, but she won't be able to get on the IKEA
catalog that for sure!!
The national pandemic of telephone terrorism perpetrated by desperate criminal collection agencies and scam artists of every despicable sort is because they are trying to terrorize people who are naive enough to answer and submit to unsolicited telephone calls or written "collection" letters that have no legitimate legal debt associated with them or any of the companies, universities, or whomever else they claim to represent. Because most "little guys" were bankrupted by the criminal Wall St / Congress / Big Oil / Big Bankers / Big Business / Military / Robber Barons, so the desperate collection agencies are attempting to collect unpaid debts from innocent people by terrorizing them into submission. News reports claim that some of these nefarious rogue calls are originating from overseas, where the caller claims to be a relative down on his or her luck who needs hundreds or thousands of dollars to get out of trouble, a policeman or government agent threatening their unwitting victims with lawsuits, fines, garnishments, seizures of property and imprisonment, and any other unconscionable tactic they can use to terrify and swindle the unwary out of their life savings.
Word of advice. NEVER answer any calls you don't recognize or are not expecting. Use selective call rejection service if available, or switch to an Internet-based telephone service which provides comprehensive call rejection options. If rogue calls become chronic, turn off all the ringers on all of your phones except one, and set its volume to the minimum setting. Digital hardware call blockers, the popular "DIGITONE Call Blocker 10" for example, could help or do harm depending on how high-tech and aggressive the rogue callers are against your phone number. The more technology you use against them, the more likely they will use technology more aggressively against you to the point where your phone could ring more frequently from rogue calls and in middle of the night hours. So staying lower-tech could actually help to keep your phone a bit more under their unrelenting predatory radar. If you don't answer the call and the caller is legitimate, they will usually leave a voicemail after the first or second try. Rogue callers almost never leave voicemail messages because that could be used as evidence against them if it came to a lawsuit, albeit spoofed calls are backed by governments and corporations, so there is nothing the little guy can do against such illegitimate activities but to block and ignore them. If you receive a rogue letter in the mail warning you of some "collection" action against you, if you don't actually owe it, reply with a short letter stating that you don't owe it. Or if you do owe all or part of it, reply with something like "You claim I owe you a debt. Under §809 FDCPA, I request validation of this debt."
Only give them your name as THEY have written it to you (e.g. ?John Doe? not ?Jonathon Q. Doe? or however you normally sign your own name), address, and the account number they report. But if you do not owe the debt (zombie debt, aged debt, mistaken or stolen identity, forgery, etc.) state that you have never done any business with them or with the (alleged) original creditor of any kind and you expect the collection agency to close the matter, stop harassing you and take any bad credit marks they've caused off of your credit rating, and furthermore, that any further contact from them must be in writing on their official business correspondence letterhead. Send your letter to them a.s.a.p., always within thirty days, first class certified mail return receipt requested. If they refuse it and you get the letter back unopened, leave it unopened and save it in your files as evidence against them should they pursue legal action against you. If they did receive it and continue to pursue action against you, let them. The judge will throw it out of court. If the rogue collection agency sells your account to another rogue collection agency just tell them the claim has been proven invalid and offer to send them a copy of your letter to the previous rogue collection agency.
Warn all your friends about this rash of desperate collection agency terrorism, and how to combat it. Knowledge is power. The more you learn how to combat rogue collection agencies, back-taxes scammers, phishing scammers, "faith and family" scammers, political action committees and other low-life flimflammers, the more you will learn how easy it is to do.
Above all, keep a record of everything, of every rogue call w/ caller ID information displayed including time and date of each call. Maintain a complete file on any snail-mailed intimidation from rogue collection agencies, including copies of all correspondences and postal receipts. Reporting rogue calls on sites like 800notes.com, whocallsme.com, phoneowner.info is a great idea too, because many people find these sites by googling for the rogue number(s) after receiving calls from them.

Mad and Upset over D.C. for this RoboCal
Did you know that this robocalls call every morning at 8:30 AM. Did you know that this robocalls woke up my
91 years old mother.Did you know that my mother fall off the bed over that DAMN ROBO CALLS! Did you know that she broke her arm for the first time from this fall. Did you know that she fall again because she didn't got enough sleep.I going to sue this " Do Not Call" registry service and the "202"phone numbers from D.C.I am getting the feeling that they do this against all the elderly people to get them sick and try to stop their Social Security and Medicard service because of this economy reason.I am just guessing. My mom died of an aspiration pneumonia from this DAMN ROBOCALLS and I did applied for this "Do Not Call" registry,it didn't work! Did you know I am unemployed over this mess!
BIG SHOTS FROM WASHINGTON,DC
YOU ARE SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO RIGHT AND I WAS RIGHT ALL TIME !!!! YOU SEE !! I TOLD YOU FOLKS ABOUT THIS LAST NIGHT ,BUT ONLY A DIFFERENT PHONE THIS TIME THAT START WITH "202 !!!!" THESE BIG SHOTS FROM WASHINGTON,DC CAN'T GET AWAY WITH THIS,BECAUSE I AM AMERICAN WHO IS UNEMPLOYED!! THEY AWAY SAID THAT THE BIG SHOTS DON'T PAY TAXES BECAUSE THEY ARE RICH!!! WE PAY TAXES FOR THEIR SALARIES AND NOW THIS SCAM CALLS?!Can you believe that, that they keep working over 66 yrs old and we still pay taxes for their salaries? They also have health insurance from our taxes! Why do we allow the BIG SHOTS at Washington,DC to let them keep working over 66 yrs old??? I don't get it!? Are they rich enough? NO! THEY WANT MORE!!!! Can they get an entry level SMALL SHOTS at WASHINGTON,DC ,so that way we don't pay too much taxes on them?
IT TIME FOR YOUR EARLY RETIREMENT OLD BIG SHOTS FROM WASHINGTON ,DC ! FAIR IS FAIR ,THAT WAY THERE WILL BE MORE JOBS FOR THE UNEMPLOYED PEOPLE! You think that going to vote for the BIG SHOT? HA!
The only way to stop the "non-profits", most of whom are not legit charities, political calls, and robo-calls is to vote Republicans out of office. They were against the DNC list and they put in all the loop-holes. Once they are out of office, contact your Democrat in Congress, explain why you voted for them and demand the DNC list not only be expanded to all the above but that the FCC be REQUIRED to prosecute (not just investigate) ALL violations. A nice addition to the TCPA would be a provision that carriers are also responsible for robocall violations on their lines.
Came across as anonymous... they can stay that way 'cause I'm not answering it!!!
They called again, even though I blocked the first number 202-643-1991 yesterday. They leave no message. What a bunch of scammers! PS to Am Inst Cancer: I can block as many numbers as you have, will never donate anything to your "Inst" or ever answer the call. You should be investigated by the Federal Government.
Been getting these calls for the past 5 days. Never picked up and the dopes never leave a message. Next time they call, they'll be greeted with the sounds of the rock song "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap" by ACDC played at an extremely loud volume.
Correction, the area code is out of Washington. I was thinking about area Code 222. Area code 222 is not in the U. S. I still think, however, that this is a scam.
I believe this is a scam. Also, it is not even a U. S. number. Even if it was legit, charities are not covered by the do not call list. Again, however, I believe this is a scam, and, they aren't even going to care about the Do Not List.
the calls go on and on... my last was 8:24am this morning. How do I stop these annoying calls? thank you for any help you can give me...
I get calls from this number repeated. This morning it was 8am and I have out of state company.
I have spoken to the telephone company and all they say is get on the do not call list. Otherwise
no one has any recourse when you are tormented by telemarketers I assume.
There have been other numbers I dial back and I get a message that it is disconnected?
Did not answer as they have called before.Unscrupulous and mercenary...they called about fifteen minutes after GMA host and Breast Cancer survivor Robin Roberts announced her departure for MDS therapy!! Really slick and opportunistic!! Somebody needs to stop these vultures!!
Senior in AZ
I have been harassed for days from this 2028705859...One time last week they called 7 x's in a row..
Can't figure out why they would want to call...most of the time i don't answer but when i do there is no one there...sure wish something could be done....I'm tired of all the calls.
Another - calls - hangs up. Ugh!!!!!
When calls come into my phone, they always seem to come from a different number and they match the listing shown above. I just don't think these calls have anything to do with the Cancer Society and are just more SCAM from a whole lot of different numbers. I keep track of the calls that I receive and there are quite a few from this place but I am screening the calls and just don't answer them. Something needs to be done and the DO NOT CALL REGISTRY does not help.
If you search this place and get the whole story, it was created for the express purpose of getting around the DNC LIst. It's all there on the Web..the CEO's salarry, the lawyer who dreamed it up, etc.
The slimy trick is sometimes they do not ask for money. They want to hide behind your good names, and have you write letters to your neighbors, and solicit for them for free.
It's just another boiler room. A worse-than-usual Scam
These people .are vermin.
I get calls from this number and other 202 area code numbers, and I'm on a no call list. What can i do to stop these calls
Unwanted multiple daily phone calls.
This tops all the toll-free annoyance calls. I am receiving at least two calls per day and some are very late or very early in the day. How do we stop this?
Received 5 calls from this number in 2 days. This morning at 8:30 (!!!!) the phone rang and there they were again on my caller id. I picked up the phone, said "Hello" and a woman's voice came on the line and said "Hello". I then proceeded to call her every filthy name in the book and told her EXACTLY where she could shove her fake charity. I was having a great time until she hung up. That was 7 hours ago. No more calls. I have discovered my new tactic for dealing with these crooks. If they want to pay for the phone calls to listen to me curse them out, I'm more than happy to oblige.
I called the American Cancer Research Institute on their 800 number and ask why I am getting numerous calls from different numbers which identify the ACRI as the called and ask if it is a representative of the Inst calling or a scam. They said it is their system and computer generated calls. They promised to remove me from the call list
Tel: (800) 843-8114 | (202) 328-7744 in D.C. | Fax: (202) 328-7226 | Email: firstname.lastname@example.org
i get over 10 a calls a day ans starting before 8 am!
I am tired of them calling one or two times per day. I believe they also have more than one number. They try to get you to say "yes" to something and then they send materials and tasks for you to do that you did not agree to, but they have recorded you saying,'Yes."
