I don't know why anyone here would fall for this loan thing because it's obvious any loan you take . They'll let you have it without any hassle like this. They called me over 10 times a day saying the same crap. And eventually end up talking about the moneypak. It's all bull.

Us capitol advance. Real or fake? 214 716 7059!!

Told me I can get a $3500 loan all I have to do it show them a $175 voucher. He brought up my credit score, saying your below average and that only reason I ja e to show the the voucher is because of my credit being low. N that if my credit was better then they wouldn't need to see a voucher. I just dont want to get ripped off. Im in desperate need for a loan though.

So advice, n he said his name is sean richard n he definitely sounded hindu or something.

Everything aside, you DO know that deputy sheriffs do not give out government grants, don't you?   Deputy sheriffs are law enforcement officers.   Giving out grants isn't in their job description--ever.  How could anyone not see the scam immediately?

Political Call
My fianc receive a call from a Deputy Sherriff named Kevin Williams and was advised that she was selected along with 999 others to receiv a 9,410.00 government grant for paying her taxes on time an for not having a criminal record.  We could no doubt use this money because we struggle horribly paycheck to paycheck and we also have a child on the way.  So she was advised to get a green dot money card from walgreens and then deposit $210 on the card and then go to the nearest cashland and she will  recieve that money back plus 9,200.00 the same day!  The number is (202) 738-1686 ext114 and his name is deputy Kevin Williams from Washington D.C.

No - your caller is a scammer!  Advance fee loans - paying money upfront to get money - are illegal, period!

http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0078-advance-fee-loans

Some red flags can tip you off to scam artists? tricks. For example:

A lender who isn?t interested in your credit history. A lender may offer loans or credit cards for many purposes ? for example, so you can start a business or consolidate your bills. But one who doesn?t care about your credit record should worry you. Ads that say ?Bad credit? No problem? or ?We don?t care about your past. You deserve a loan? or ?Get money fast? or even ?No hassle ? guaranteed? often indicate a scam.

Banks and other legitimate lenders generally evaluate creditworthiness and confirm the information in an application before they grant firm offers of credit to anyone.

Fees that aren't disclosed clearly or prominently. Scam lenders may say you?ve been approved for a loan, then call or email demanding a fee before you can get the money. Any up-front fee that the lender wants to collect before granting the loan is a cue to walk away, especially if you?re told it?s for ?insurance,? ?processing,? or just ?paperwork.?

Legitimate lenders often charge application, appraisal, or credit report fees. The differences? They disclose their fees clearly and prominently; they take their fees from the amount you borrow; and the fees usually are paid to the lender or broker after the loan is approved.

And if a lender says they won?t check your credit history, but wants your personal information, like your Social Security number or bank account number? Go somewhere else. They may use your information to debit your bank account to pay a fee they?re hiding.

A loan that is offered by phone. It is illegal for companies doing business by phone in the U.S. to promise you a loan or credit card and ask you to pay for it before they deliver.

A lender who uses a copy-cat or wanna-be name. Crooks give their companies names that sound like well-known or respected organizations and create websites that look professional. Some scam artists have pretended to be the Better Business Bureau, a major bank, or another reputable organization; some even produce forged paperwork or pay people to pretend to be references. Always get a company?s phone number from the phone book or directory assistance, and call to check they are who they say they are. Get a physical address, too: a company that advertises a PO Box as its address is one to check out with the appropriate authorities.

A lender who is not registered in your state. Lenders and loan brokers are required to register in the states where they do business. To check registration, call your state Attorney General?s office or your state?s Department of Banking or Financial Regulation. Checking registration does not guarantee that you will be happy with a lender, but it helps weed out the crooks.

A lender who asks you to wire money or pay an individual. Don?t make a payment for a loan or credit card directly to an individual; legitimate lenders don?t ask anyone to do that. In addition, don?t use a wire transfer service or send money orders for a loan. You have little recourse if there?s a problem with a wire transaction, and legitimate lenders don?t pressure their customers to wire money.

Finally, just because you?ve received a slick promotion, seen an ad for a loan or credit card in a prominent place in your neighborhood or in your newspaper, on television or on the Internet, or heard one on the radio, don?t assume it?s a good deal ? or even legitimate. Scam artists work hard to make you think they're legitimate, so it?s really important to do your homework.

Dealing with Debt
If you have debt problems, try to solve them with your creditors as soon as you realize you won?t be able to make your payments. If you can?t resolve the problems yourself or you need help to do it, you may want tocontact a credit counseling service. Nonprofit organizations in every state counsel and educate people and families on debt problems, budgeting, and using credit wisely. Often, these services are free or low-cost. Universities, military bases, credit unions, and housing authorities also may offer low- or no-cost credit counseling programs.

The poster you have asked clearly states he knew it was a scam. Of course he didn't pay them, and no he didn't get the loan. Its a Scam!

Advance fee loans are illegal period. That is why they want green dot cards, they are untraceable and the only money gained is by the scammers when they take your funds.

The number that called me was (954) 990-0115 and showed up Flordia and like all the rest I was asked to load money onto a Money Voucher from CVS or Walmart. I did not do it of course, but when I called them back and started asking them difficult questions like their Company Name, phone numbers, boss name, address the man got very rude with me and said he wasn't giving me my answers unless I tell him I'm going to buy the voucher lol! Who does that? No LEGIT loan place would EVER act so rude! And their accents made it very hard to understand most of what they were even saying. I made him aware I knew it was a scam and was going to report it and he said do that and hung up on me. They are very cocky and rude! Why not just work hard for your money like everyone else does! Wonder how they would feel if someone tried scamming them!!!! Yet we aren't supposed to be pissed!

Hey I wanna thank everyone on the info on the green dot card and Cash Advance. They offered me $2000, easy. I'm in a bind right now. Just get the green dot card and put money on the card. I thought give money to borrow. It just bothered me. It didn't sound right. Too easy. Will I read about all those scammers from India with American names who can hardly speak english. They keep calling me. I told them if I decided I would call them back. This manager got upset with me so I hung up on him. I'm glad I came across all this information. I think I'll keep what little money I have. No green dot card. This sounds like a nightmare with all this scamming.

I got hit by the same Middle Eastern criminal SCUM, for $280, on top of $32 in so called "processing fees".
I was told that I had been approved for a Government Grant for Education expenses, and went out and got the Green Dot card with $280 on it to procure the grant money....
The guy who kept badgering me on the phone, said his name was "Eric Dawson", but obviously was Middle Eastern, or Indian from the accent. I should have know that it was a rip off when they asked for a Money Pak card, the scam artist's go to means of stealing, but I was stupid, and just lost all my money. Do NOT fall for the same scam as me....
WHY do foreigners ALWAYS spend their lives searching for new and improved ways of stealing from people??
Then they have the nerve to complain about prejudice!!

For the record, the number that called me was 1-919-439-9999, and not the number listed on this page.
Still, they got me....

All they needed me to do was pay $150 on a green.money card because of taxes so they could make sure I was the correct person....although they called off of a number - (509) 207-4102 from Washington....this. Seriously saved me

I also called both numbers back..one of which said it was a non working number and the other had an automated British voicemail...hmmmm..yeah nice try scammers!! I couldn't understand any of them well due to the thick foreign accents. There are 2 #'s 937-763-3343 (the "non working" ) and 212-203-0428!! Don't fall for this. Thank God I didn't :)
