I never answer my phone if the callers # in unknown. If they leave a message I may call back. I do not do business with callers unless I initiate the call. I get 5 to 10 calls a day that leave no message. Many company names show up on my phone. i ignore them all..

CALLED OVER 25 TIMES LAST SEVERAL MONTHS; WAS USING -855-361-0800; NOW USING 1-202-909-2460, SAME AMERICAN CANCER INSTITUTE,THE CALLER MAY BE LOCATED IN WASHINGTON DC; A CELL PHONE NUMBER; NOTE HAVE USED SEVERAL NUMBERS AND CONTINUE TO CHANGE THEM; ANOTHER: S-C-A-M  NO SUCH BUSINESS OR CHARITY?

I have 6 numbers that these scam artists use.  They call numerous time every day, even though I've never picked up.  And they never leave a message.  Very annoying.  Caller ID identifies them as AICR, the American Institute of Cancer Research.  I doubt very seriously that a legitimate charity would act in this manner, so they'll never get a penny out of me.

I am very annoyed by this caller. Please end this!!!  

This company gets away with the calls because they are a nonprofit.

I suggest we all look into taking away their nonprofit status.

AICR is the American Institute for Cancer Research. It is their telemarketing company calling you. These jerks are annoying. They call from a variety of area code 202 numbers.

To stop the calls:  If you go to their web site, scroll down to the footer and click on "Do Not Call policy."
Click that.

They use a telemarketer to call potential donors.  I guess they scam enough people that they don't care if they annoy others.  Bloomberg Business Report wrote about them in an article titled "Charities Deceive Donors Unaware Money Goes to a Telemarketer" on September 12, 2012.  Google the article.  

They have used 17 numbers, I have blocked them all. They don't get the message, take number off your system. Do not call. I would never give money to these _______ , fill in the blank. Claim to be a Non Proffit, but look at what they pay themselves.

There have been several calls and hang-ups from this number over the past few days.  This morning (Saturday) I picked up.  Obviously call made by machine/computer.  After I said hello a live person came on and asked for my mother by name.  Stunned, I asked who was calling.  They persisted on asking to speak to Mrs._____.  I persisted in asking who was calling.  Finally she rattled off something about cancer and went into her canned talk.  

I must admit I lost control and screamed profanities at her for asking for my mother who died over 5 years ago.  After hanging up I regained control and blocked the number.  It probably won't help because they will just spoof another number later on.

This group of scammers is particularly disgusting!

I am so mad - this number rang this morning at 8:30 am while I was still sleeping - rang 4 times the stopped - caller ID says "caller name unknown."  I am on the no-call list also - please, can something be done to stop this!  

I agree with every one else that these calls are unacceptable and the Do NOT CALL list doesn't seem to help.  I don't answer phone numbers I don't recognize unless they identify themselves.

I would like AICR to stop calling my phone number.I want them to take my number off there calling List.I will take more

The DNC list does not automatically block calls.  Instead, it provides a list of  "do not call" phone numbers to legitimate telemarketers who pay a fee for the list.

The DNC list exempts political callers, survey organizations,  charities and companies with preexisting business relationships, but these organizations might have their own, internal Do Not Call list (ask them).

The DNC list  is not effective against criminals, spammers and scammers, because those people do not subscribe to the DNC list, and do not care if you are on or off that list.
Its purpose is to stop calls from legitimate telemarketers, and it does a pretty good job at that.

EARLY SUNDAY MORNING AND THE CALLS START COMING.  I GET CALLS FROM THIS NUMBER OFTEN AT DIFFERENT TIMES OF THE DAY DURING THE WEEK AND WEEKEND.  I WON'T ANSWER BUT THEY KEEP CALLING.  BEING ON A DO NOT CALL LIST IS USELESS.  AFTER DOZENS OF CALLS YOU WOULD THINK THEY WOULD GIVE UP.  I WISH THERE WAS A WAY TO STOP THEM.

Constantly getting calls from this number. It rings a 4 or 5 times then they hang up. No one answers at the other end.  The "do not call list" does not stop the calls. They call all hours of the day, even Sundays.  Very annoying!

They call constantly many times a day.  I just cleaned out my caller ID and out of 42 calls on it, 3 calls, were actually for me.  I am about ready to give up the land line, since it is never used anyway.  These people are just plain sick

Have received relentless phone calls from this company for over a year. AICR - American Institute for Cancer Research. Sounds good, but they are obnoxious. Have been on all Do Not Call Lists for many, many years. Have also instructed them to take me off their Internal Do Not Call List, but they continue to call. Need to report to FCC. Sick of these callers. They also call my elderly mother, both on her land line and her mobile phone. They have called at times when she was very sick, which was beyond annoying. Someone needs to do something about all these unwanted callers who think they can intrude in homes at any time of night or day, despite being told not to do so. I can only hope someone starts calling these people at their homes, too! Karma is great.

This number calls all hours of the day and night.  No one on the line, and when I called it back,  there was a recording saying the number was unavailable.  I am an attorney, so we are looking into this caller.  Its a form of harassment, we are on the do not call list,  but that is worthless!

Look at charity navigator about these crooks. They do nothing for cancer research. All their revenue is spent for expenses- and a nice salary for its president.

I want this number to stop calling my home, they call several time a day .   I don't plan on giving to them, so please have them stop there phone number AICR. They are getting to be a pain.  

They are requesting donations. American Cancer Research something. Don't have a good rating as far as charities
