I been getting a call for the past week n half from 202, area code each time I answered it noone answered, but today luckly a man answer with a strong accent I believe Max was the name, he said I was chosen. To receive $8,400, I told him if its free to send the check I also started asking questions like y am I reciv ing this n where is this money comin from, he replied for paying ur bills on time n being taxes on tme n its government grant for me to care for bills n household things, to give him my account # or a walmart pre-pid # n I will have it 15to 45 min. So I told him hold on say that again so everyone here can hear u! And all of a sudden the phone hung up! Lol... I knew it was a scam who the hell did he think I was! I'm smarter than that  so people please be careful n safe cause scanners r out to get u!!!

This number has been calling me for a week now, when I answered it was a man telling me that I had been selected to receive a free government grant of 8400.00 he said it was to help with paying bills and things like that while I was in school. He told me in order to receive the money he needed the information from a prepaid debit card, I have a old one so I gave it to him, he then gave me a number and told me to call and verify my approval number with a lady named sophie Lopez. When I called her she told me that I ha to give a donation of 210.00 to help feed the needy! This is so a scam do not fall for it!

I just received a call from them and this time it sounded like a french woman. She told me all the same bs that you all were told but when i went to give her my new address my phone dropped the call, thank god..

Scams? A few days ago a FB friend alerted me to a post that looked odd to him. He said it had my name on it but did not look like my normal post. Yes my FB account could have been hacked. I changed passwords right away in all my online accounts. I used a backup computer that I only use for paying bills online. It is seldom on and all my bills online are paid on that computer. This computer is just for writing my novel, FB and e-mail. Last night about 10:10 PM I got a call from a lady with An Indian accent (India) called from a 227 area code MD, claiming to be from Microsoft wanting me to allow her into my computer. I did not call Tech Support and did not give her any information. This morning just about 12 hours a man with an Indian (India) accent called from a 202 DC area code. He claimed to be from the government and wanted to give me $5,000. I just had to give my bank account number or debit/credit card number.. Both these calls seemed strange to me. I had done nothing to apply for help from Microsoft or applied for a government grant. The lady became offended when I would not allow her access to my computer. The man became irate when I would not give him the bank/card information he wanted.
The phone they called is a pre paid cell. The number is not public knowledge. It is however the number on the FB account. Be forewarned.

I have received a phone call from this number for the last 2 weeks. Every time that I would answer no one would answer on the other end and all of a sudden it would show that the call was ended. Today however, someone was on the other line. It was a lady (She was definately from India) She said she was calling from the US Government and had grant money for me in the amount of $8,400. She stated that they would need my checking account information, or my savings account information, or my credit card information. I asked her to verify my personal information and she gave my full name and address and city and state with zip code.She had stated that the money would show up in my account within 50 minutes to an hour. She asked me to call the number: (202) 905-0699 and give them the confirmation code: LE102. The man that answered was also from India and he also stated that I would be getting $8,400 and it would show up on my account in 48-56 hours. I asked the man if he had an address that I could write to, to verify if this was not a scam. He gave me this address: Jason Jackson 4325 or 4326 (I can't read the last number that I wrote.) Southern Avenue South East Washington, D.C. 20019. I asked why it would be addressed to Jason Jackson if it was the US Government. The man stated that Jason Jackson is the name of his Supervisor. I have called my state's Attorney General's Office and reported this and I was told to call the Public Utilities Commission and report this because in my state we have a Do Not Call Registry. So I reported all of this to them as well. I was told by them that these people change there number all of the time and they are calling from another country, but they have a router that would show that they are calling from the United States or Washington, D.C. 20019. THIS IS A SCAM!!! I CONFIRMED IT WITH THE COLLEGE THAT I AM ATTENDING AND ALSO CONFIRMED IT BY LOOKING ONLINE. DO NOT EVER GIVE OUT ANY OF YOUR BANKING ACCOUNT INFORMATION OR YOUR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION OVER THE PHONE TO A 3RD PARTY!!!!!

I just received a call from them and they told me that I was selected by the US government to receive $8,000.00 grant from the US treasury. But in order for me to receive it I needed to supply my bank information. I told them that I was not going to give them my account info but I would be more than happy to receive a check in the mail from them. She told me that they do not use the US post office to send money and that if I wanted the money I needed to give them my account info. When I told them that I was not going to give it to them she hung up.

They jus called me gave me my name and dob and told me I was granted money for good behavior something like that said I was getting bout 8000 dollars or more and asked for my account number I told her give me a min n she hung she had an accent like african

I just received the phone call as well. A lot of background noise and she had a very heavy accent like she's from India. She preceded to tell me I was receiving a govt grant for $1000.. When I asked her the name of the company she got quiet and then I hung up... What I would like to know is how do we as consumer get this to stop?

Telemarketer claimed I would be recieveing a 1 time free grant of $8,000.00 for my good recorded....when I asked what gov agency she worked for she hung up.

i had the same call today on my lunch break.... i kept telling them to just send me a check to the address they read to me and they refused... later they gave me the option to have it posted on a pre paid visa card? as soon as i told them that i would have one of my friends in the government check it out for me, the lady told me to have a nice day and hung up...

They said that I had received a Federal Grant from the US government in the amount of $8400.00. Replied back that I believe this is a scam and they HU.

I just got a call from this number and they left a random message all I can hear is a man and woman talking and a lot of noise in the background.this call really creeped me out!

Keeps asking for someone else by name but thats not me. Repeatedly have told them to stop calling me. They have the wrong number.

I received a call regarding a free grant from the federal goverment. I know that the government do not call anyone offering free money. You have to apply for grants present a good reason and wait to be approved. When I said no thank you the caller who has a heavy accent said: "F*#@ You!" and hung up. Really? From the federal government. Of course the number could not be reached when I tried to call back.
