As I read all these comments, I become quite frustrated to see that Americans have such little knowledge about computers in general although they've been around since the middle 1970s. Particularly, people post comments on this web site thinking they will get someone to remove them from receiving these calls. That is ludicrous. This website doesn't manage calls your homes. It is just an avenue for reporting calls your receive. Period. Nothing else. For those demanding to be taken off the call list, you are sadly misinformed or clueless about the purpose of these phone call reporting websites. Get yourself training.
Now on to those who comprehend. These calls are from criminal hackers. Most of them spoof telephone numbers so tracking them is difficult. Some of them come from VOIP services and are re-routed. Getting off their call list will be fruitless - unless you disconnect your telephone lines. Don't engage them. Just hang up on them. If you have a call blocking service - use it. Don't give them information. Not a bit of it! Just tell them you don't use computers. Hang up at that point.
They intend to access your Windows -based PCs apparently and install malware or other malicious software or code. They will use this for various reasons including keyboard logging to steal the text of everything you type on your computer so they can hack your bank accounts or financial data, personal username and passwords to websites so they can hack into them and do the same or use your accounts to send spam emails, denial of service or distributed denial of service (DoS or DDoS) attacks and other malicious activities. They can't commit a crime if you aren't a willing victim! Don't be their next victim! You may be able to report them to the Federal Communications Commission or the Federal Trade Commission. Check those respective websites! But if you can't prove who they are, doubt that any closure will take place.
There you have it. These calls you have been receiving are from criminal hackers. No body that writes comments on this website have any authority to make them stop. There you have it. My two cents worth.

get these calls all the time, its a scam it you get this call just either say u have no computer and that u will call the police on them or just tell them you have a mac and they will hang up. there is no calling list so u wont be taking off, they have a auto dilar that will just call random numbers. Windows or Microsoft never makes calls to tell you that you have viruses, get thsi call just hang up they just wantr to get into your computre get all your personal informantion and your banking acounts and take your money and put viruses in your computer. dont do anythign they say

Just received a call from this number 0203 025 9569 from a Indian lady claiming to be from Microsoft Network Support saying that my computer was sending lots of error reports to them. Suspecting this was a scam call I challenged her to validate her credentials and stated that Microsoft would not call me direct. I then informed her I was reporting the number to the Metropolitan Police E-Crimes division at which point she hung up very quickly.

I had this call on thurs night. Man with an accent told me they were from Windows and that a malicious virus had been downloaded onto my computer and that I needed to fix it before my computer crashed. I told him that Microsoft would never, ever call anyone and that I had already taken down his phone number. I told him that if he called again, I would contact the police and Microsoft and have them charged. he hung up

I get this call - but tell them that I don't have a computer. They seem to not call for a while after I say this. I hope it helps other people too.
Please keep in mind, corporations have to pay Windows for the privilege of calling them. Windows does not call people for free personal assistance.

Another scam artist from India claiming to be from Windows. Calls daily despite being rude to them and calling them out on their scams. Exactly like the Log Me In scams last year. Really annoying.

Scam artists from India yet again. Had a problem similar to this last year with the LogMeIn123 scam. It doesn't matter how many times I hang up on them and tell them to leave me alone they keep calling twice a day.

I just received a call from this number, caller seemed like he had smoked a couple of joints. he asked me how I'm doing. I told him "I think I'm doing better than you are" and hung up on him. I have a call reject feature on my phone, and that's where I put them. Sounded like telemarketing.
| Darleen 2013-01-17 20:37:42 Unknown |
Just received the exact same call. I have receive this call more than once a week. I have told them that I do not want them to call me back and to take me off of the list. How do we get them to take our numbers off of their list? This is so frustrating. And today when I told him that I know that I do not have any problems with my Windows, he told me that I did and that he knew it and I would be in trouble if I didn't listen to him. I hung up.

yes...I just got a call from the same person....foreign voice and wanted to access my computer....saying someone was trying to falsely access my computer and he would help me reset it. Once he realized I wasn't going to give him access he hung up on me.
| Bob 2013-01-05 22:43:36 Unknown |
Foreign person calling from *Windows* saying that your PC is sending out false signals and they will help you reset it. Another different phone number and just another scam. Beware as they will hack your PC if you give them access.
