So I just received a call from this number saying that my brother hit the son of his boss with the car. I asked what's my brothers name and he said that he didn't gave him that information (but he gave my number, which TOTALLY makes sense). I then asked where was it and he said that he is at the "Cacerio", which is the popular name of the public housing complex in Puerto Rico (the whole conversation was in Spanish). Wait... the accident was in PR but the call is coming from a CT number!? Doesn't make sense! I told him, which was the truth, that I didnt have any brother living in PR and he just hang up. The funny part is that I have a family member (not my brother) living in CT, so if he said it was in CT it would be more believable. Either way, you could smell the scam through the phone.

Same story about her father...who she hasn't had a relationship with in years, and lives in TX.  She reported it to the Stamford police dept.  For fun I called the number back and said I had his money and where I should send it.  He said, you don't call me, I call you, and hung up the phone.  I don't understand how the police cant track the number.  

Same deal here. Told him I didn't have a brother, he said he meant father. Then said "are you going to tell me you don't have one of those".  I should have just said yes, but i got the whole spiel having a gun to my father's head. I hung up.

Yep same call to me tonight.  My brother was in a car accident can I give them his name to make sure I am the right person.  I asked him where he was and he refused to tell me.  Said he wouldn't tell me until he knew my "oldest" brother's name.  I told him to tell me what state he was in so I can make sure it was my brother.  He then told me fine he'll just leave him on the floor to die.  I hung up ...

got the same scam call about an hour ago - just getting around to lookup the number. What the heck!!! This is a lan line number in westport,ct.

Same story.  Same accent.  Said my brother was in an accident in front of his house.    I don't have a brother.  

i got a text, not a call, but it said there was a family emergency and his name was robert. i blocked his number.

Happened to my family today. Same phone number. Same accent.  Same story. We didn't fall for it but it certainly catches you off guard.  CT POST and Bridgeport news has released articles on these very scams.

The call went something like this:
Caller: Your brother is hurt.
Me: I don't have a brother.
Caller: I said your father is hurt. Don't you have a father?
Me: What's his name?
Caller: Fine, you don't want to help him? I'm just going to leave him on the floor. *click*

Seems to be the same scam as above, but we didn't get to the scam part.

This guy basically did the same scam I me 5 mins ago with the same script to the tee.  I told him I didn't have a brother... he didn't get me, but With this number come up numerous time you would think the Cops would be able to get this guy...,Its listed as a Westport number

same call as above, but I did believe him. wired $2000.00 to puerto rico. cops can't do anything. SMH I'm the @$$hole here

This Guy called with a thick Accent and said that My brother had been in an accident and that he was hurt, He then said that he wants to make sure I am family and asked me what my brothers name was, I told him, If you have him, you tell me what's his name, He told me to cooperate or they would kill him. THIS IS THE 2nd Time I have gotten a call like this one, I told him you already called me a few weeks ago, He said I'm not playing with you, and then told me that what ever happens to my brother is on me. SCAM! I hung up on him!
