they say they collect for purple heart vets i think they're lying

We get this number calling all of the time, even on weekends. They always ask for my husband and hang up when I say he isn't home. Won't give me any information about who they are and what they want either. Does anyone know who they are?

I just got some more info on that number. It seems it is a scam of sorts. Report this to the Do Not Call list compliant dept.......

I got this call at 9:50 am Sunday May 22, 2011. I didn't say anything when I picked up the phone, I have been getting calls from this number all week. Anyway, after a minute or so I heard someone pick up their end and asked for me. I asked who this was and told them I was on the do not call list and how did they get my number. I then asked to speak to a manger, which someone with a deep powerful voice came on. I asked him for his name, he said Robert Pasternack or something like that. He said they were calling from the Purple heart foundation and work with disabled veterans. I again asked him how they got my number, and he said it was computer generated. Yeah right, computer generated all week long? I told him I was going to report them and that I didn't believe it was a legitimate company, that's when he hung up the phone. If it was a legitimate company their number wouldn't be masked as "a local call". The name of the business would be available on caller ID. I've also heard of unscrupulous people who try to solicit money for a good cause, but they have nothing to do with it, but to part you with your money.

they are actually not solicaters, they are scammers using a solicitation that people would fall for.

Getting calls which I don't answer, but they leave no messages.

I've been getting calls from this number for the past couple of days, too.  It says Local Call on caller ID.  They don't leave a message.

I have been getting calls from this number, the white pages says that it comes from the town of fairfield and it might be the purple heart foundation looking for donations for vets.

Got a call from this number.  Said "Hello" 4 times with no anwer.  Said "Local Call" on C.I.D.

Nancy called today and said it was for a "local" issue or matter. She would not give any more information. She wanted to talk to a particular person.

Received this call and they were soliciting on behalf of the "order of the Military Medical Benefits"....don't fall for it...if it was legitimate they wouldn't block their caller id

"The Purple Heart People?" What does that even mean? If you believe these people are soliciting for some sort of war veterans organization, I can assure you there is no such organization! The Legit veterans groups are the Vietnam Veterans of America and the Vietnam Veterans Agent Orange Victims who are dealing with diseases they pased on to their children as well as themselves. Not too many vets who were exposed to large quantities of Dioxin which is the main carcinogenic in the de-foliant "Agent-Orange", are still alive. But many of their decendents were born with birth defects. Both are legitimate 501c3 charities.

I have been getting calls from 203-307-1003 and nobody there. Today 11-16-09 at 8:12am I get a call from this number looking for money for the purple heart people. Now we know what this number is all about. It is people not registered to solisit.

this number calls daily at 8 am  totally uibsurd  no answer when call back  wont say who is calling when answer

COMPUTER CALLING....JUST HANG-UP CAUSE NO CALL LIST AINT GONNA STOP AUTO CALLS...

I am also getting daily calls from this number and no one answers if I pick up or leaves a message if I don't.

Getting calls from this number also.  I stayed on the line for a few minutes and heard background noise but no one spoke.  I tried to *69 but it didn't work.  Does anyone know who has this phone #?

I am also getting this call and getting no response when I say hello.  I also tried calling it back to get a business name and got no answer or machine.  What did you do about it?

i get this call 2x or more a day w/no response when i say hello,and i,m on a no call list.
