got a call today from this number. no message.

Called here at 5:06am, 6:37am and then at 8:07am.  This is a scam, they are trying to tell you that your computer is in danger, and they can help you immediately.  They have been calling our area, remote access your pc.  They are NOT a legit company, report the calls to your local Better Business Bureau so they can work together to shut them down.

claimed to be Microsoft to help fix computer problems. wanted to remotely log onto computer.

Got same call about if I had a computer or internet problem.

I said no and he said thanks and hung up.

I called my cell phone provider to report the number and notify them of the situation in case they try to pull something.

Watch out for these people. It is a sure phishing. DO NOT GIVE ANY INFORMATION.

I got a call on my cell from this number and didn't answer as I didn't recognize it. They left no message. So I tried to google the number and I didn't get any information on the number. I guess it wasn't important.

Got a call from this number and did not answer.  No message left so I got curious and called it from my work line and it was not in service.

Same thing.  Guy called.  He had an accent - possibly Indian, and asked if I had a computer problem.  He said he got my number from his database.  

It sounds like a phishing attempt.  Please make sure not to give any information to someone from this number.

Got a call from some guy with an "indian" accent.  Claimed to be working for microsoft and asked if I had problems with my computer.  I told him I had a problem with WMP, but resolved the matter.  He asked how much money I spent on repairing the problem.  I told him I did not spend no money to repair my computer problems.  Then he proceeds to tell me that I can get my computer fixed by talking to a technician that works with his company in the near future.  The prices he gave me follows as, $49.99 per month, or $79.99 for 2 months and $129.99 for 3 months.  I knew it was some scam.  I told him that I was not interested and I could fix my computer problems myself and hung up.  Don't trust these people.

I never answer phone calls from numbers I don't recognize--I have told my husband the same, and he's finally on the bandwagon with me.  No message left--therefore, the call must not have been all that important.

Just got a call.  No message left.

Mac user, just got the call here on my cell, didn't answer and they left no message.  Checked on here and I really appreciate all the info.

I do use paypal and ebay rarely, about 3 months ago was the most recent.

I have not owned or registered a microsoft product for over 10 years.

I got the same call, from Indian accent, saying it was "microsoft" calling about my computer problem.  I hung up.  FreePhone Trace came up with this much information.

Just got the same call indian accent asking if I had any problems with my internet connection or my computer told him no and he said goodbye

Thank you for your tip, I'm going to start trying it to see if I can get the calls I've been getting lately to stop.  I get numerous unrecognizable caller ID calls to my cell phone, and I just received one for this "supposit" number and googled it.

I am in Canada and got the call as well. This is how it went.

ME: Hello..... (Stayed quited).... Hello..............................Stayed quite
Caller: Hello
LINE DISCONNECTS (The last think I hear is "Oh Sh*t" from the Caller)
Phone rings again and I answered the phone with a hello
CALLER: Is this "My name".
ME: Yes
CALLER: Sorry i dropped the call before (Indian accent)
ME: What can i do for you?
CALLER: Sir We are associates of Microsoft, Are you having any computer or internet problem?
ME: I don't use windows, I use UNIX operating system? Can you fix that?
CALLER: Oh sorry
LINE DISCONNECTS..

I was thinking about it. Is it possible that someone who knows some Microsoft OS and is trying to cold call people to generate some business by helping them with computer problems and then probably asking for money via pay-pal etc?

If I get the call again, I will pretend that I HAVE A COMPUTER PROBLEM and I will play along to see what they say next.

I don't get it.  What does politics have to do with harassing phone calls? I don't keep up like I should, but are the laws about telemarketing something that republicans and democrats fight over a lot?

Received the call, they had a lot of background noise. Guy with a thick Middle East accent saying something about being with a company affiliated with Microsoft. Wanted to know if I had been witnessing any problems with the internet.  I hung up on him.

Indian guy asking if I had good internet connection and mentioning Microsoft....I hung up I have a do not call on my phone and he still called.

Called my cell - I didn't answer since I was driving - no message. I think I'll have fun with them if I'm able to answer sometime since I have plenty of minutes. ;-)

Same deal got me name right ? said that they were affilated with Microsoft and my latop was slow and then ask so gen type quistions then he pass me on to HIS Manager so he fix my PC!!! at that point I told him we have our own IT dept and they would call him !!! phone when dead.

Same thing, but when I said no problem with the computer they hung up on me.  Reported to Missouri no call list, and was told they are computer hackers trying to get minor info.  If this happen to you, report to the proper authorities.

I got the call too..... some patel who was informed of my name....insisted for me to turn on my computer...claiming to be a rep for microsoft and my computer was running slow according to my internet provider...I asked so.... who is my internet provider?..... no response.... Hopefully someday an agency can be formed to scrub this scum of the the walls of the internet....

8 p.m. April 16 -- A male with an Indian accent called my husband's cell phone from this number, and said he was with Microsoft and was calling about our computer.  My husband asked how he got the number, and the man said "from our database."  My husband said "I don't believe you are calling from Microsoft.  Put me on your Do Not Call list, and do not call again."

I just received the same call as all of you but I'm turning the number into my Attorney General 's Office. They will investigate and prosecute these scumbags!!!

Just got a call from this number saying he was from microsoft and asking me how many computers I have in my house...I told him I don't have any I only use computers at work.
