Simply send a cease and desist letter. Doesn't need to be long, keep it short and to the point. State that you demand the phone calls stop immediately. If you receive anymore calls including pre-recorded messages, you will sue for violations of the FDCPA laws as well as file a police report for harassment. Be sure to mail the letter via USPS certified return receipt request. THIS PART IS CRUCIAL. The letter will cost you about $6.28 and worth every penny.

Once you receive notification (usually within 4-5 days) that the collection agency received your letter... you can sue for $1000.00 per call. I file these suits for my clients quite often. Most likely they will stop calling if they are registered with the Dept of Financial Institutions.

For more information feel free to visit my website at www.theloanfather.com. I have lots of great information there. Thanks and good luck.

Debt Collector
In a loud, imperative voice this message was left on my answering machine from this number at 8:27 p.m. local time on 6 December 2011:

"...now!  This is a personal business matter;  we wish to speak to you directly.  Thank you.

Hello, press any key on your phone now!  This is a personal business matter;  we wish to speak to you directly.  Thank you."

Such calls have in the past appear to have been from debt collectors.
