I have been receiving calls from these 'card services' telemarketers for over a year now. I have been blocking each number they have called with (over 35 at this point). And I have been filing complaints with the FTC Do Not Call Registry and the FCC complaint site, to no avail. I do suggest you all do the same, and do not talk to them or call them back.

But to really get some attention, I created a petition on the White House We The People site. Please go there and sign it, we have to get the word out any way we can:

Call 267-798-7013  this is the supervisor who sets up the installation for the security systems that they are trying to push down our throats by calling every day.    When I answered the strange number one day they offered a free home security system. This women called me to set up the installion and said she is the supervisor for peerless network the installation company for the free GE home security system.   Call and tell her you want the system installed and she will think she has a sale   Try to get more info to post so they will stop this robo calling

Why would someone call and play a recording (I hope) of the sounds of people (man and women?) moaning and groaning and yelping and a rhythmic squeaking sound like they are fornicating?  This must be some pervert's idea of a fun thing to do while pleasuring himself or herself.

Hang up when you see this number 203-538-0538 --- unless you want to hear the sound track or whatever is being played into the phone.

Awww. . .
None of the belly-crawling cowards will take us up on it.  Lead the ?live operator? on for a while, then invite them, and their criminal employers to join in the conversation on FTC and FCC Facebook pages. Also, search FB- ?card services? to find more blogs fighting back.
Post any call info such as the ?card service reps? name, company, and caller ID #s.
Also, judging by the ?thumbs down?, they hate being recorded and put on you tube!

Some more recent robo-scummers sued Nov 2012 by the FTC operating in Arizona.

Oh, how they squirm, and deny everything when the crap hits the fan.

Hope I have this correct- the FTC has jurisdiction over the Telemarketing Sales Rules (TSR), and the FCC has jurisdiction over the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA). I believe the FBI has jurisdiction over the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO), and the U.S. Secret Service has jurisdiction over the ?foreign for profit business entities? that siphon the ill-gotten money out of U.S. jurisdiction. If the Feds would ALL get together on this problem, maybe it would actually stop for good!

Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act U.S.C. Title 18, Chapter 96 § 1962:

Sections 891-894 (relating to extortionate credit transactions), section 1028 (relating to fraud and related activity in connection with identification documents), section 1029 (relating to fraud and related activity in connection with access devices),?
Section 1 of Pub. L. 91-452 provided in part that: "The Congress finds that (1) organized crime in the United States is a highly sophisticated, diversified, and widespread activity that annually drains billions of dollars from America's economy by unlawful conduct and the illegal use of force, fraud, and corruption;

I get calls from these people all the time and do not answer.  Sometimes the automatied system does leave a voice mail.  I too was hung up on when I called and have hit 1 to be removed and it seems when you do that they send your number to 10 other people.  This is a nightmare.  Then I call my cell phone comapny and I can pay $6 a month to block this number.  Can't they just pull the plug on this number if there are so many complaints??

Listen, people.  All the gripeing in the world doesn't matter.  Being in the "National Do Not Call List" doesn't matter!  These a-holes will continue calling no matter what.  Do you really think that the Do Not Call registry works?  If you do, then you are dumber than a box of rocks.  Wake up and realize that the government doesn't give a s*** about if some scammer is calling you or not.  The best thing to do is DO NOT ANSWER WHEN THEY CALL!!!  If you are in a business meeting, put the phone on vibrate, or better yet, TURN IT OFF!!  Quite being so dam stupid.

I receive this recorded message about 3 times per week. And, since my number is on the do not call registry, I filed a complaint. Hopefully, this will stop it. It is intrusive, invasive and not wnated

That's exactly what happened to me. I got a call from this number, hit 1 to speak to the representative and as soon as I asked what company they were, I got hung up on. Then I called back and was given the option to be put on their do not call list. Very annoying. It seems like it shouldn't be that hard to catch these people.

This is the most lucid and intelligent communication I've ever seen on 800notes. Also accurate - the Registry has always been a complete joke. You're better off writing down specific "problem number" yourself and having your service provider block them from calling you.

While "messing with them" may only get more calls, I have found ignoring them does not decrease the harassment. I have done all manner of things to them over the phone, including stating what will happen if they call back. These are criminals and should be dealt with like you deal with any (repeat) criminals.
You eliminate them.
Consider it a public service.

If you answer your phone they will just keep calling. Removing your number from a robo call list is too much work for them to do. The head crooks have to keep overhead low by employing people like themselves - ethically challenged morons. I still report calls to the DNC registry but I do not know how much good it does. I have made my life more peacefull by setting my default ring to no ring and assigning regular rings to people on my contact list. If the call is important the caller will leave a voice mail.

Half of the time they call with the same numbers. Your number is on their computers that rotates spoofed numbers. They add in new numbers when they realize that nobody is falling for their robocall. Nobody should fall for any of their tricks.

These are irritating calls. when I return the call it asks to press 1 to be placed on their DO NOT CALL LIST, but you can't talk to a real person to read them the riot act and ask them to not call again.  The FEDS need to get involved with this Company....UNWANTED calls and they're 4-5-6 times per day.  UGHHHH!

I had a missed call on my cell phone. I'm sure this is another one of those "if you want to reduce your interest rates press 1" calls. I get them from phone numbers all over the U.S.  Why can't these folks be stopped?  How do they get away with calling all of my home/cell phone numbers when I'm on the do not call list?

You're are nuts, and so very wrong!

The National Do Not Call Registry list was always pretty much a joke from the day it was invented. Same goes for the ones run by the individual states. FYI, it was invented during Pres. GW Bush's term in office. It has nothing to do with the Democrats or the Republicans really.

From Wikipedia:
"On June 27, 2003, the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) opened the National Do Not Call Registry in order to comply with the Do-Not-Call Implementation Act of 2003 (Public Law No. 108-10, was H.R. 395 of the 108th Congress, and codified at 15 U.S.C. § 6101 et. seq.), sponsored by Representatives Billy Tauzin and John Dingell and signed into law by President George W. Bush on March 11, 2003. The law established the FTC's National Do Not Call Registry in order to facilitate compliance with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act of 1991."

The FTC, who implemented and runs The National Do Not Call Registry, has been hobbled by a lack of money in their budget to effectively do anything about 98% of the calls that are reported. So, if anyone is to blame for that, it's not the Democrats, but the Republicans, who are screaming about shrinking the federal government, killing off many programs and agencies, to save money and lower taxes.

Many of the CID phone numbers used to make these spam/scam/phishing calls can't be traced as they are often coming from outside of the USA, or they are internet routed from hundreds of VoIP numbers bought and used randomly used by an auto dialer or a computer to make the calls, or they are stolen or spoofed numbers.

Most often, if you call back the number listed on your CID you get a recorded message saying the number is not in service, or you get a busy signal, or nothing happens, or you get some other message such as instructions to follow a prompt to speak to a live person. If one is lucky enough to get a live person on the line and dare to ask for ANY identifying information - what is the name of the company, full address of the company HQ, etc., you're hung up on 99.99% of the time, because they don't want to be caught.

This is a scam.  They want your "account" balance and information for credit cards they are "supposedly" going to lower your interest rates.  When I asked to be removed, I was told I could not be removed.  When I asked to speak to the supervisor, the supervisor "walked out."  Report! Report! Report!
