Honestly ....ever since I put all my numbers on the DNC I have received more calls thn ever before ! I'm starting to think the DNC is a scam .I signed up years ago then I kinda just never signed up after tht  because i really wasnt getting many calls from anyone .then I kept getting a call for a "lower your interest rate"so I again signed up with the DNC because the caller kept making me run for the phone only because I had a family member ill in hospital,but then soon after signing up , I have gotten more crazy calls on my landline phone and the two cell phones I listed on the DNC ! Just an observation I have noticed ever since my sign - up ! Never again .....

Good point Paul.  I have our number on the Do Not Call List, yet our phone rings all day with these bogus numbers.  So, what good is the Do Not Call List for??      

Just got a call from 203-538-0995 and it said "Assistance" on the caller ID.  Didn't pick it up and they didn't leave a message.  I'm sure they put "Assistance" on the caller ID to have people wonder if it is something to do with money....

I get calls several times a week from this number, or similar 203-538-09xx numbers.  Some try to change my electrical rates (asking me to get my electric bill handy), others have a real-sounding person who talks to you selling alert systems for old people, but after trying to talk to him, you realize it's a recording.  I called back on of these 203-538-09xx numbers, asked the person to be put on DNC, they hung up on me.  I then called *67 and the automated system asked if I wanted to be put on DNC.  I pressed 1 or whatever the number was, and it said thank you, you are on our DNC.  I called *67!  How the frack would they have my number?  Ugh!

received a call from 860.538.0916 - asked some questions - Live Voice wanted me to provide my rate to them so they could give me a cheaper rate - hung up when I wouldn't give them info

I have blocked 23 numbers from this caller.  This is the most recent.  I don't know how they get away with it.  I'll just keep on blocking and reporting and hope someone does something about this scamfest.

I am so glad that I have caller ID as this Alert Srvc is calling 3 or 4 times a day and than it goes to 2 and up again and they never leave a message.  The phone # is 203-538-0998

phone call coming in as Alert Sevc but they do not leave a message but my caller ID gets the name of who is calling.  Phone # used is 2035380998.  They call sometimes 3 or 4 times a day and than it goes to two and picks up again.

Came up as "Alert Services". Didn't answer and didn't leave a message.

this is getting ridiculous They call so many time but I do not answer. It is annoying because you got to stop what you are doing and check if is a family member calling, a friend, etc.

This number calls repeatedly and hangs up or taped voice starts a call about an FBI warning - I have reported them before - we are on DNC Registry (CT & Federal). Annoying!

We have been receiving calls from Tel:  203-538-0998 on a daily basis.  When we answer, they simply hang up -- very annoying to say the least.  Please put us on your "Do Not Call" list.

This number 204 538 0998 keeps calling and no one is there when you answer they hang up.I'd like to find the b*****d and break their f****n neck.They don't know me so why harass me

These may be the people local news and CT government are now warning residents of CT about.  Just pretending to be a power company broker, in order to steal personal information for other fraud.  I hope as many people as possible learn not to bother answering these calls or calls from numbers you don't know, if you have caller id.  Nothing seems to stop them from calling and doing so repeatedly within short time frames (under a minute).  It's obnoxious and I hope they get in some kind of trouble some day for this stuff.

They are selling "cheaper electrical rates." Their recording asks for you to have your electrical bill handy.
Spoke with a guy who said his company is called "Live Voice" He identified it s a "clearing house" and obviously an illegal call center that pays no attention to federal Do Not Call laws. I asked directly if "Live Voice" is an electrical supplier. No. So they're obviously a scam operator trying to get personal and private information from unsuspecting people while promising a service they do not provide.

They call; hang up, or call and leave no message.  Annoying.  So much for the "Do Not Call" list.

If you live in CT you have to call and ask CL&P not to share your phone info AND also contact the utility commission, whatever they are now called, and ask them not to share your number.  But chances are if you already get these calls, they won't stop no matter what do not call list you sign up for.  Legitimate companies honor the do not call list but the scammers do not care and don't stop calling no matter what you do.

From your electric delivery company.  Apparently they are required to share your name and phone number with alternative electricity suppliers under the various deregulation laws.  Go to your delivery company's website and look under the alternative suppliers program information.

Got two calls today, July 26.  Didn't answer but machine was on and no message was left.  What right do these people have to call me anyway. How do they get the phone numbers of home owners.

Didn't recognize number - so I didn't answer.  No message.  Now that I know it's one of those electric company scams, I'll just pick up the receiver and slam it down like I usually do for scam calls.

I have doubts about how legit a company like this is, when they call 3 times in under 60 seconds and hang up before you can answer.  

It would be nice if they stopped making these calls but apparently the people who work at these places don't care that they work for what seems like a scam kind of operation that harass God knows how many people all day every day.

These is very likely the same callers who use 203-538-0995, and who want to try to sell you lower electric rates in Connecticut.  If they were legitimate, they would use only one number, instead of several spoofed numbers -- trying to play games by tricking any call-blocking initiatives people have taken.  If they were legitimate, they would not be making sales calls in the first place, to people on the national Do Not Call list.
