I've gotten several hangup call in the last few month from thin number.

I also get calls from 1-203-551-6229. When I call it back a voice says "you have reached audovox after hours messaging. please leave a message. Are you kidding me? I am not going to leave my name and number on a machine. I do not even know who this is! I assume it is probably RBS also since the numbers are so close. Can someone please tell me if they have ever received calls from this number 203-551-6229? RBS has alot of balls! Didn't they basically shut down in London?

This "May" be a legitimate collection agency (using illegitimate tactics) - they called trying to find one of my tenants (I needed to find this page to jog my memory)  The number is now listed in my cell directory as "Scam - RBS" so I won't answer their calls again.

A word of adice.  Do NOT put your number on the Do-Not-Call Registry.  The program has no teeth and telemarketers and scam artists have learned they can get the list and USE IT AS A DATA BASE TO CALL!  It's an old door-to-door sales psychology- a "No Solicitors" sign on the door means low sales resistance - by projection, the same applies to the do not call list.  Because of government apathy / incompetence / corruption very few violators are EVER prosecuted  The law has no TEETH, so the criminal element ignores it.  The only folks who honor the list are the honest folk you WOULD want to do busines with!

I just started getting calls from this #1-203-551-2552 today. they have called 3 times in the last 2 hours. I have read the other statements and it seems this is a scam. Or a fake cretitor.  I know that if you do owe someone money and a cretetor tried to contact you it is NEVER over the phone. They always send a certified letter from the company and they tell you who you owe. DO NOT GIVE ANY INFO!!!

.. This number (in Bridgeport, CT) is a bank of at least FIVE lines from 2550 thru 2555 - It is "Credit Card Services" - a collection agency.
They call anytime, day or night & week-ends and Holidays.

Report them to the Connecticut State Attorney General, and put them on your DO NOT CALL list !!

This number keeps calling several times a day but leaves no messages.  From reading everyone's comments it seems like a scam caller.  Reverse lookup says Hartford Ct. Landline.

Just got a call on my cell from this number myself...I never answer if it's a number I don't know, I just wait for a voicemail and return the call later. Of course, no voicemail this time. And now I know why! Would love to know why they're calling...I have impeccable credit and definitely do not have an account with this company. Infuriating! This is precisely why I have a cell phone and NOT a land line!!

ditto-203-551-2552 calls several times a day for the past week, no one responds when answered; however when calling the number you can reach a customer service rep from some collection agency (I have absolutely no debts).  This is a SCAM the automated service asks for credit card number and SSN#.  We call them and leave the rep hanging on the line.  Post if you know how to stop these annoying calls thanks.

I've been receiving numerous (5-10) calls from this number daily.  I answered the call once and it was a collection agent through once of my credit cards.  I'm in the process of filing bankruptcy and have not made a payment on the credit card for 2 months. I explained this to them.  They continue to call me daily though and will until the bankruptcy is final. I just ignore their calls as it's on my cell.  So it is a bank related call.

Call 5- 10 Times a day

Caller hung on for a few minuits then hung up. Never answered.

Today alone I hace received 5 phone calls from 203-551-2552, the last one I actually answered, a male said "Hell0" twice and when I responded he hung up.  My calls start as early as 8:30 a.m.

I am going to take the advice of "na dated July 28 and start reporting it to Do Not Cal

I find is annoying and rude!

They have called each day for the last three days. No message, just a hang up.

They have called at least 3 times a day, never leave a message, and they call at like 7am in the morning

I too get about 3 calls a day from this number.  It is automatically flagged as a blocked number but it still leaves a message on my voice mail which sounds like a heavy breather wtih a highway full of rush hour traffic in the background. I've heard it might be from Direct TV when you cancel your subscription and they keep calling in to download your tivo - but it seems really crazy.

We're getting calls from this # (203)551-2552 & said we have an account with them, but we don't have. What you do is try to register your phone # with the DO NOT CALL LIST (pls. Google to find the #) & tell this @*#s that they are in violation of the DO NOT CALL LIST. Log your calls from them, the date & time they called & file a complaint at the DO NOT CALL LIST. Every single log that we've got a call, we filed a complaint. We've filed complaint as much as 10 or more & you can do these too. Stop this nonsense from them!!!!!

I keep getting calls from this number on my cell phone. I have not answered it because I figured it was a wrong number or a telemarketer.

I just called the number back to see if anyone would answer and I could tell them to shove it, but it said it was a non-working number of a credit card service or something.

I'm pissed! I am sick of getting umteen calls from this number everyday!

As of 7-10-07 get at least 10 hang up calls a day for past month & not one message left. All caller ID registers is "Unavailable" & "203-551-2552" which is in the Bridgeport, CT area. It belongs to RBS which stands for Royal Bank of Scotland. They own several banking chains including Charter One Banks. We had all of our accounts at Charter One & moved them due to their incompetence. By the way, after all of their hang up calls, today we received a letter asking if we wanted to buy their insurance. This is the only letter we've gotten from them. Avoid Charter One accounts at all costs.
