5 calls in the last 3 days hangs up after voice mail picks up.  I will contact CT Fraternel Order of Police they won't see money from me this way.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention.  I know the company has a do not call list loaded into their computers and it is suppose to block all those listed.  I am not sure what happended in your case but will be placing a call on Monday to see what the problem is.  Personally I hate even dealing with these companies and wish there was another means to raise revenue.

Why did the solicitor tell me that he was in fact a paid agency, because it would be illegal for the police themselves or retired officers to ask for donations themselves? I am still with holding any pledges I have made.

That's interesting. A year or more ago (or about that) the number belonged to the CT FOP (Fraternal Order of Police). At some point they shut down, relocated, and eventually went back to their original location. So it seems someone else has their original number now.

Call from this number almost daily, they state they are from customer service and when pressed they are the pharmacy and when further pressed they are the online pharmacy looking to sell controlled meds

they were fined by the atty general/ state of Ct., paid 40,000.00 in fines- very little goes anywhere other than this so called  police organization. I got a letter from them and it reveals the same solicitor co. that is hired to make these anoying, pushy calls- I'm not sending them a dime!- Out of $740,000 in donations, only $26,000 went anywhere!

I worked for fop. It is a scam. They pay CDG a solicitation firm as
"advisors" to run their call centers while there callers are technically
employees of the FOP. The call center manager was a 22 year old kid who had a drug problem and many of the callers were convicted felons. They claimed to do background checks but never did. We saw sex offenders on the ct sex offender website who worked for the FOP. It is a big scam. More then half of your donation finds its way to CDG out of New Jersey.

The organization is a qualified non-profit and the state and national "do not call" list do not apply.

Numerous calls from that number over at least the last week. Caller will not answer when voice mail picks up.

This number has been showing on my caller ID box daily since I first got caller ID a month or two ago.  I have spoken to the callers from the Fraternal Order in the past and always turn down the solicitation.  I am surprised they call because I am on the "do not call" list.

I get the call ones or twice a day. male individual usualy calls and is very rude and unprofessional doesnt introduce him self an hangs up with out saying anything. When you try to call the number back it doesnt work. I got tired of recieving calls from this number so I took it to the local Police Station and spoke to their investigation team. They told me that i wasnt the first one to report this problem and they are looking into this matter already. I called some local phone companies and ask for directory to find out who this number belongs to. I was unable to get the exact location but i found out that this number is located in Middletown or Meriden area since both use 203 area code and first three numbers start with 634. I would recomand that you all take this problem over to the authorities for further investigation. One other advise when this number calls dont pick up let it ring or go to the voice mail.  I hope this helps.

Calls daily or twice daily, lets it ring 3-4 times then hangs up, does not leave a message.  The number cannot be called back, as it is not in service.

I'm curious; how much of the Dollar goes to the families?
I understand there is a large demographic to which these donations go towards, perhaps you could suply tangible percentages and not just say 100% goes to the organization because thats just a fancy way of saying.

"We get all the money...what we do with it is entirely different."

The lonesome soul who wastes his/her time at 203-634-3348 must have one heck of a boring a life to spend so much time calling our number but still doesn't speak.  This performance of his/hers is extremely IRRITATING!

We have been getting calls from this number for months.  They let it ring until the machine picks up and then hang up.  And, of course, it comes up as "Unavailable" on the caller ID.

My name is Lee Tager. I am the Director of Fundraising for the Connecticut Fraternal Order of Police and I am a retired Sergeant of the Bloomfield Police Department.
    As of May 1, 2006 we are no longer using professional solicitors to make calls in our fundraising efforts. The Connecticut State Fraternal Order of Police opened our own call center in Meriden. All donations to the FOP are for the benefit of all police officers in the state, and 100% of every donation goes directly to our organization. Support is given to the families of police officers that are killed in the line of duty, and funds are used to assist in maintaining the Connecticut Police Memorial in Meriden, and the National Police Memorial in Washington, DC. Youth programs are supported, as well as donations to the Connecticut Hospice Program.
    We use computer dialers to assist us in our solicitation calls, and this causes UNKNOWN NAME to appear on caller ID systems. I do apologize for this and we are working on changing this problem. If anyone has concerns about our solicitation calls, please contact me at CTFOPDOF@comcast.net

Got another call today at 7pm, then again at 8:11pm. I tried to call but the # is not in service. The guy calling says it is a courtesy call and he will cal back later. I have been getting these calls for my girlfriend for several months now and they never say who they are.

We've had calls on caller ID for the past couple of days.

Today I answer and a gruff voice woman asked for my husband by his first name only.  When I said he wasn't home and started to ask the reason for the call, SLAM!

Then I googled # and found this site.

Yep, 10 calls in 10 days, just like everybody else.  Usually no answer when I hung up.  But I think we all know how this works, anyway:  the CT Fraternal Order of Police need to hear from you (http://www.ctstatefop.org/).  They've allowed some phone solicitation shop to ask for donations on their behalf, and the CT FoP probably gets 10 cents on the dollar. Never, ever donate this way.  The charity gets only a fraction -- and we get all these annoying calls.

They called back this morning and reached my husband - and actually spoke.  Caller claims to be with the CONNECTICUT FRATERNAL ORDER OF POLICE.  We requested to be removed from their calling list and asked why calling their # back results in the not in service message.  Caller said "we will remove you from the list" and hung up.  We are reporting this to the organization (http://www.ctstatefop.org/) they claimed to be - seems hinky.  At the very least they are rude!

Shows UNKNOWN on caller ID.  One call a day for about a week.  Hangs up after 3rd ring.  No sound on line if answered.  Today for 1st time heard alot of background voices and a female asked for my husband by his first name.  Rudely hung up when I said he was not available and asked who was calling, please.  Called # back and got "not in service" message.  WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE?

I don't answer "UNKNOWN NAME" calls on my caller ID.  I get 2-3 calls a day but they hang up after 3 rings when my voicemail picks up after 4.

Another annoying call.  Whoever it is must be ashamed of himself/herself since he/she doesn't speak.  VERY IRRITATING!!!!
