Got a call today at 9:50 am. Didn't answer. No voicemail, But I did call back with a google voice number.  When I called, I got a message saying Thank you for calling WN Positions and they called because "While I was online, I indicated that I was interested in career opportunities". Funny thing is, they even allow you to press 9 and enter your phone number if you no longer want to receive calls from them. HAHA!!
Total Scam. I feel sorry for people who actually are looking for jobs and fall for this crap.

This is a SCAM (PHISHING) meant to trick people into giving their personal contact information. The caller tries every 203 area code number until someone answers and then he probes for personally identifiable information to associate with the phone number. The caller called my cell phone and then my wife's number which differs by 1 digit.

J*** off couldn't decide what he was selling.  Said I completed a survey to win an ipad (didn't).  New cell phone and I don't even have the number memorized yet.  Then said I was trying to get a WalMart gift card.  I said no I wasn't.  Then he said I was unemployed and trying to find a job..again no and no.  I hung up and added the number to my call filter.

Non sprint service. Called me 2day. Didn't answer. No voicemail. I never give my number out for anything but accounts/services I use regularly. My best guess is that they are probably phishing for information to open credit cards in your name

It was identified as CT, USA at 10:01am 1/17/13.  I usually don't answer calls from numbers I don't recognize, but I was expecting an important call.  The caller said he was calling because I applied for a job on-line.  I was not somewhere that I could talk freely, it was a bad connection and I just wasn't feeling well. I've been getting numerous emails suggesting that various people from a number of "employment agencies" have awesome opportunities looking for someone with my unique skills. Actually, it is exactly the same email but the company name and agent name change each day.  Call me a skeptic, but in this economy, there are more applicants than jobs and I don't believe any company has to reach out and call people who haven''t applied for the job they are trying to fill.   When I asked if he was with an employment agency, he dodged the question.   I said I couldn't talk now, the caller rudely said "you don't have 15 minutes to find a job".  I repeated not right now and he hung up on me.

I am wondering how many people here who are posting, are using Sprint as their carrier... Chances are more than 80% ... Better check your carrier as they are likely the ones selling your information.

When I answered I heard a strange electronic blip sound, then silence for a full second or two.  I didn't wait, just hung up.  I am suspicious of any electronic blips or bleeps on the line.  That usually means that a computer dialed my number, which is never a good sign.

They called and said I did an online survey - maybe for a Walmart gift card? or t win an iPad? Sounded very fishy and they said I was interested in getting a job.  No thanks.  Have a job.  Told them I wasn't interested and hung up.

This is not so random.  I would be very cautious about telling these people anything.  This is why: I have 2 wireless accounts with 10 phone numbers in total on them.  2 are actively used for voice, 3 are for internet and 5 are inactive voice.  This company has called every voice line on both of my plans, 1 with AT&T and 1 with Verizon.  They are up to something and time will tell as more people come on here and tell us what is going on but it is not random and I doubt it is an innocuous survey either.  I would exercise caution in even taking the call/talking to them at all.  If they are legitimate they can get your stuff from the DOE.

Usually don't answer calls from numbers I don't know but I have been giving out my cell phone number to more people recently and thought it might be someone I know but hadn't officially added to my contact list. Caller mentioned online survey. I just hung up.

It is illegal to use RDD (random-digit-dialing) with cell phones, however your number is basically available from anywhere you may have input it. Also, "do not call" lists do NOT apply to marketing research so if you're being called for a "survey" then they are unfortunately well within their rights to contact you. Just ignore or tell them you will not participate.

I added this # (and any other unsolicited calls) to my phone book under the name, "Unsolicited B***s***," for two reasons.  1) It sends them directly to voicemail.  2) I know I didn't really miss a call.

I might just pick up next time and play the noise of an old dial-up modem (from a downloaded soundboard) in their ears.  This does work eventually from certain repeat callers.

just got a call, didnt answer. they have software that identifies you if you pick up. they then have your contact info and most likely use it for marketing. i have hundreds of contacts stored in my cell phone so I know who is calling most of the time. if a caller isnt in my contact list, i dont answer.
