they have called me at least 25 times. Does not make a difference what l told them they keep calling.The easier way to handle this problem is to hang up but l feel impotent l can not get privacy. Those peoples that call get paid for every new contract they make.  There is something else l can not say on line.

Caller ID says "Shervington Mia".  First thing the caller did was to order me to get my electric bill (to get  my account number) because I did not opt lower my rate last month for some promotion & he was there to make sure I did.  He talked like a thug as if I owed him something.  When I asked him to send me the info via postal mail he hung up.

Valerie, tell your company (you keep defending them, you probably work there) to stop being rude on the phone. You guys do telemarketing, if you can't deal with people getting pissed off about your company, then you need to find a new company. Stop coming to the web to try to defend your company.

They called me at 9:09AM on a Saturday morning. I let the call go to my machine and there was no message.

Got a call from this number on Sept 3, 2010 at 6:45 pm. Left message. When called back from an electric company saying something about reducing rates. This is in Conn. We DO NOT live there. We are on the DO NOT CALL list!

Verde Energy is not an electric company. They are an independent electric supply company.  They help reduce rates for CT, NJ and PA.  The electric companies we help are CL&P, UI, PPL, PSE&G, and JCP&L.

Wow! Maybe you should work for them! If they are a legitimate company they should have the ability to send you information. When asked to mail me info because I DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH STRANGERS OVER THE PHONE I was told "to get savings you have to do business over the phone".

What a scam for the naive and gullable!!!  These telemarketers should be run out of town just like any other thug. And yes, the DNC list applies to them as well.

    Mapper,   Please know what your are talking about before you MISinform people. For four years I have been calling people to let them know about this FREE program (they usually print info right onto your bill!) It is overseen by the Public Utility Commission to help customers save money and yes, get a $50 rebate.  Not only have I helped to save residents hundreds of dollars a year on their utility bills, I have also enrolled many, many businesses ( including 250 accounts for Walgreen's Stores ). The decision to enroll was made by the Energy Manager of the Company.. a man that is paid a lot of money to make these important money saving decisions for this HUGE Corporation ! This number called and started asking for my wife to give the electric bill(account number, bill quantity) over the phone. I wouldn't let them save me 50% of my bill (even if they could) because if they are this incompetent and negligent with regards to the law, common sense, and true customer service, then they would likely screw up something along the way. No thank you.

I agree to be leery of such calls.  I took the call last spring and listened out of curiosity because I happen to be in sales.  I also hate C, L & P and my ridiculously high bills in CT.  I took their number and did the online research.  The company was Verde, the number went to Norwalk CT.  They did not offer me a rebate but I noticed others were getting it online. I called back and took a chance as it seemed legit and signed up as long as they gave me the same $50 rebate deal.  I got my $50 rebate and about 15% off my monthly bill, really!  BUT, I had to call twice to remind them to send the application for the rebate which did not come in the mail as they had promised.  Also, I had to remind them to send the rebate check after 8 weeks which I truly believe is a gimmick unless you follow up.  Otherwise, I'm very happy I signed up.  I'll add a friend signed up without my difficulties in getting the rebate.  I do not work for them and get nothing for this plug.  I'm happy to take business away from C. L & P which claims to not be hurt by this competition.  That tells me they are too big and smug for the good of their customers.

Just received call and it was from Verdin (voicemail was crackly) Energy USA, supplying electrical power to residents of Connecticut.  I live in NJ.  They need a geography lesson.

Be very careful as these people are very deceptive. make sure you are comparing apples to apples as some quotes do not include taxes. here in NJ taxes are included in the rate on your bill. read the fine print as I got screwed but was lucky to get out of a 2yr contract with Liberty Power based on the amount of complaints on the salesman for being deceptive.

I got a call from them, something about saving money. After talking to them I signed up at a rate of.1075 vs my current rate from Atlantic City plus they offered me $50 for signing up with them. They promised me a guaranteed savings. Will keep you posted.

You are a complete idiot!!!  They are violating the do not call list!!!!  They are selling electricity you moron!!!  Unless they are a political entity, charity or someone you do business with they are NOT allowed to call you regardless!!!

Signed up with Verde in September for my small business in New Jersey.  Has worked out great, saving over $100/month versus my PSE&G rate.

I received a call from Verde Energy and I signed up with them.  After they were added to my Jersey Central Power and Light Co. bill, I sent in their rebate form and a copy of the JCP&L bill and received a $50 rebate check.  Also my monthly electric bill was lowered by $21 a month based on budget billing.  Verde is a very green participating company.
