These people are calling my mother and asking for my deceased father which really truly upsets her.  I can't find the owner of the number so I can't contact them to get my mom's number off their call list.

i got the same call as well but they said my name then hung up. i googled the number found the adress and the exact location. its most likely some sort of scam if they call me again i will just mention their location hopefully that should put a little scare into them

The person called and hung up without speaking a word, it was at 11:32 am on Dec 4th 2010, and I dialed *57 to mark it for trace.

Sent an email to the actual Canadian Association of Fire Chiefs I will see what they have to say.

My sympathies. I'm in PEI and a guy called asking for my mom by her first and last name. He did'nt seem to be very egar to tell me the purpose for the call either......There's got to be a way to at least figure out where they are calling from.

this number is associated with 1900-382-3702 and says it is the Canadian Fire Chiefs but no one answers the phone.  It is an automated voice mail asking you to press certain numbers for donations, and information but your number cannot be blocked to do this.  
They seem to have a list of deceased persons they are calling and actually ask for the deceased person and pretend shock when confronted.
I believe this is a telemarketer not a legimate caller.

i just got this and i live in Alberta, they knew my name and said it was for Canadian fire chiefs or something and wanted a donation. It was super creepy.

I'm trying to find out too as they've called my mother and asked for my father who has been deceased for 11 years.  It really upsets her when they do this.
