Keep on getting calls from this number, periodically, no one every says anything on the other line then just hangs up.

i just got a phone call about.. 2 minutes ago.. asked for the homeowner (my parents) and i said they werent available. caller said the call was no longer important and hung up.

Calls repeatedly.  Asked to be on the do not call list...repeatedly.  It is a company that calls on behalf of at least 15 different charities, such as the Firefighter's Burn Fund (or something like that), Childhood Leukemia Research etc.  They are legit charities but I have hear (unverified) that the call center takes a percentage of the donations.  I worked for this company and the supervisors are relentless in walking around and looking at your "tally" sheet; you get hassled if it's low, you get special rewards if you can gain donations past a certain level. I worked one shift and never went back.  Donate to one of these charities, and every campaign they have going will be on their call list and you'll be hounded repeatedly.

I've had nine calls in three days including one at 9:30 in the evening.  No one talks when I answer as they say to please hold because all their lines are busy. They continue to call in spite of reporting them.

These people phone repeatedly, and usually the line is dead quiet because they have an auto-dialer which calls even when they don't have a telemarketing agent available to talk. If you wait long enough, you sometimes hear a recorded voice saying something like: 'Due to unexpected volume, all agents are already on the phone..." We've repeatedly told the live agent that eventually comes on the line: "Do not call this number again." They keep calling anyway. This week they want to talk to the person in charge of advertising and charity support. Next week it'll probably be catheter cleansing services or chimney mural mosaics.
