Called at 7:55 am.  My 1 day to sleep in.  There are no words to express the degree of my annoyance.

This number has called my cell phone every 4 minutes this morning, since 11:37am I have gotten 8 calls from this number and each time there is nothing but steady beeping on the other end. This is extremely annoying.

This is an outgoing line from cancer care at HSC, my doctor works at both clinics. It was just his assistant making sure I'm ok after my surgery.

We'll I called hsc and can't help me atleast the person calling should give more information in regards to what it's for!! Idiots

I received a call from 204-775-0055 and when I called back I was told that this number does not accept incoming calls.  Is this a scam.  

It is a landline at HSC. Many different offices will appear as this number when they contact you even though this is not the number that you would call to contact them. The number does not take incoming calls.

I received 4 calls from this number. The 3rd time I chose not to answer but it rang a 4th time right after and I said nothing.  The guy on the other line said hello first.  It was Cancer Care changing my appointment date.

Just had a call from this number-- Asking for someone who does not live here.

You really are stupid aren't you?  You do realize that NIHL can be caused from a stupid stunt like that?  People have done it before and in the US a guy got jail time for it because when he did it he caused the lady to go deaf and the thing was she was not a telemarketer she was calling for personal business. While our ears are pretty good at repairing themselves she was permanently deaf in that ear.  The man was charged with assault and because of previous priors got jail time.  In Canada who knows what you could be charged with if you could at all however do you really want to be the person to completely deafen someone in 1 ear?  I have a birth hearing loss over 50% and its hard to deal with day to day things when you cannot hear people or misunderstand what they are saying and they get frustrated.

So just because you make not like the phone calls use some common sense to deal with them.  Compressed air horn is NOT a solution.  Not everyone's ear could handle the decibel level of those things and depending on which one you used could be anywhere from 120-150 decibels.

Health Science Center - Ultrasound

This number is NOT an office at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg; it is a publicly accessible landline. That is probably why some of you are getting phone calls at such odd times and/or when you have no connection with or expectation of hearing from HSC regarding a procedure, test, etc.
  I received a call traced back to this number from an erstwhile friend who is hospitalized there now.

I got a call from this number. It is apparently a public phone at the Health Science Centre.

It's just dummy number that the whole hsc uses. I got a call from there it was cancercare

Its health sciences center they just called of course not leaving a message so I don't know what dr to call back for my daughter frustrating!

This number called me and hung up when I answered.

This number called and refused to leave a message, just said that they'd call back later on in the evening.  I have no clue what they're calling in regards to either, and would love to know.

HSC calling to tell me about a follow up appointment.

My Fax line just got a call from 204-775-0055 then is no phone number associated with my fax line and only ones who have my fax number is people who I work for so that they can fax me info so I am certain whomever called my fax line made a mistake an dialed that number.  I hope they get the right number next time.

It is a generic number generated for all calls comming from the hospital. They do not want the hospital name to come up on call display to protect the privacy of each individual in the home.

Just remember, any number can be faked if using VoIP or other similar technology.  If the scammers find a number like this one, where it's possible it's an important call so people will most likely answer, yet it will never ring if called back, it makes for a great number to fake when they try to call you.

Just use common sense, if you are expecting a call, answer it.  If you aren't sure, either ignore it and save the few cents on your cell phone and risk missing something important, or answer it and find out who/what it is about and save yourself the worry of a missed call.  Then if it's a scam, talk really quietly for about 20 seconds so the scammer has to really listen closely and turn up their volume to hear you, then blow a compressed air horn in your phone before you hang up.  It may cost you a minute of airtime worth a few cents, but the satisfaction you'll get out of it is well worth it.  Puts a smile on my face every time!

Haha at first it was freaky but it turned out that my friend working in HSC tried to prank me by using that phone line in a ward.

I was waiting for a surgury appointment to be scheduled - I had been waiting for weeks now.
This number appeared and I didn't know who it was so I didn't answer. They left a message and yes, sure enought it was the HSC. I'm glad they left a message otherwise I would never guess it was the hospital calling with a number like that. They are all 943#'s.

I just had call from this number today.  Someone drunk or disturbed demanding that I return their cell phone (because apparently I just answered their phone).    Oh well.  All the best in finding your phone bud, and lay off the sauce - it makes you do stupid things.

GOT 2 CALLS TO MY HOME OFFICE NUMBER, 30MINS APART.  NO MESSAGE WAS LEFT.  SO I WILL ANSWER THE NEXT ONE TO SEE WHAT THEY WANT.

Unless you have previously answered one of these calls and know for certain it's worth blocking, WHY do you want to block it? It is,after all a call coming from a hospital. Why don't you at least answer once so you know for sure if this is a # that you want to actually block?
