This company must be getting desperate to even attract employees now because I see all kinds of 'special incentives' as I drive past. Things like signing bonuses and guaranteed hourly incomes. When you see this too much you do start to wonder what really is wrong in the faceless little building by the main thoroughfare.

It may also explain the many, many calls I get that simply end up dead on my answer-phone. I don't bother tracing them, why spend the money to do so?

Ask for caller's FULL name and employee number (3 digits & 1 letter). They MUST give you this info if you want off the list. Generally they tell you that you will be deleted, but that is not the case. You are on over a dozen files. Ask to speak with a supervisor (Kendra, Donna, Rosie, Mark, Josh, Dustin are a few). They MUST call one over for you. Write down EVERYTHING. First and foremost though, please be polite to the caller, as they are just trying to pay their bills. Could be breaking into your house instead!! Also, please keep in mind that a place like that doesn't exactly hire the "creme-de-la-creme". Mostly morons, but good people who try.

They keep calling every day around 5 pm (pacific time). I said hello and they hang up. What a ...... I've marked it "DON'T PICK UP EVER"!!!!

I am really REALLY tired of getting bothered! I am disabled and on the waste of time DO NOT CALL REGISTRY and still I get these f***** calls. GET  A REAL JOB AND STOP BOTHERING ME!

We receive a call from 204-927-2271 exactly twice a day.  Once in the afternoon and again at 9PM (EST).  Every single f***ing day.

If you answer, there is only dead air / silence.  If you dial that number, it only rings with no answer.

Does anyone know WTF is up with these people ?

strange people, they called me at 8:30am on a Sunday morning, I kept saying hello hello, nobody on the other end so I hung up.  2 minutes later they called back and it was the same silence, after that the calls stopped

I work at this place basstel in Winnipeg. Newspapers and media are exempt from the national do no call list. Not everybody is professional at the workplace ( just like any other call center).. We are a legit company and if you don't believe me, contact any Canwest newspaper circulation or Globe and Mail.. And btw alot of these Childs that are posting comments here are so immature, grow up and take the paper.. Also if you get a call and no one talks.. This is beyond annoying.  Because they are a "Newspaper" they are allowed an exemption to the "Do Not Call Registry".   I think this should not allowed.  If I answer my cell phone I get stung with the Long Distance!  Bah!

The same thing has been happening to me but it's not at a specific time, as they call like TEN TIMES EVERY COUPLE HOURS! I was thinking it was one of my friends in Manitoba, but the number doesn't f**** match

Have been receiving phone calls from this number for more than 2 years! Was finally able to speak to someone with the help of the post here. Now I'm supposely off the list. The people there sound professional and did not have an issue with removing me from the list.

I believe the frustration mostly came from the fact that
1) no answer when do pick up
2) not a valid number for call back
3) timing of the calls: lunch & dinner time
4) frequency of the calls: adds more frustration due to issue 1 & 2

I don't think I would've ever been taken off the list if not for this website and "Ex-Bassteller2010".

Having been harrassed with phone calls like this has deterred me from ever subscribing to that newspaper again.

All I am saying is, just ask to be taken off our list, and we legally have to. But other than that charaties and newspapers are excluded from the do not call list.
