I have been 'roped' into one of these schemes.  The internet screams scam, my husband screams scam...but there is something legit about it all.  I have thought about calling my bank and having the charges reversed, only I think it's a real deal and I'm willing to ride it out.  Tell me more about your experiences.  :)

I got a call from these guys as well - 905-917-8989. A recorded message told me I won 250,000 Airmiles and to press 1 if I wanted to collect my prize. I was directed to an individual who instead told me I won a free trip to Cancun and Orlando. I played along for about 20 minutes until I mentioned when I googled the Hotel name, that I saw there was a lot of scams associated with this company. I let him know I was uncomfortable providing my information over the phone to him but I'm sure that he wouldn't mind me calling the hotel directly to provide my information... He said of course, no problem, and said he would personally transfer me to the hotel so I could provide my credit card info. Again, I said no, I'm sorry I would be more comfortable providing it to them directly and then *surprise* he hung up on me.

Hope no one falls for this !

Haha just got this call from 630-869-6962, sounded like a scam right away, I was folding laundry and kept the girl on the phone for a half hour by playing dumb ("Website? Ok, um, I can't find the big blue 'E', do you know how I find it?") until she got fed up, passed me to her supervisor, who got fed up much more quickly and hung up on me! As far as I am concerned, I just cost THEM money by wasting that call centre's time.

I've seen some comments here defending what they're doing as just trying to sell timeshares. But I am sorry, cold calling people and misrepresenting your business qualifies as "scam" to me.

Got a similar call as described throughout this site.  The initial message was winning a prize through Walmart and Zellers.  After some time, I spoke to someone, asked them questions what this was about and started my google search while on the phone with her.  I ended up finding this site and skimmed through the messages.  This is a telemarketing process to sell time shares.  I've been on a trip like this before.  Cheap getaway and enticing offers to mortgage a timeshare condo.  I googled the Ocean Spa Hotel for reviews as that's where they were going to send me.  Pretty awful reviews.  I even told the woman on the phone that there are a lot of web concerns posted regarding "scamming".  She replied that people would say that if they choose to reject the offer.  That explanation doesn't make sense.  I ended up choosing to decline prior to being asked for any personal information.  That decision was based on some of the pretty bad reviews of the hotel in question.  The phone number was 626 521 5538.

Missed a call from the Number- called back from a different phone and the number isn't in use. scam for sure. Calgary, AB with Rogers.

I received a call from this number on my cell around the noon time first. I did not answer it no msg left. After a few hours I saw this same # calling my wife's cell phone. This time I was convinced its probably some friend who knows our both numbers, so I answered it but they hang up right away. Although me and my wife use the same cellphone company, our numbers are completely different. It is a bit of my concern how they can possible know our both numbers, as the chance of randomly hitting our both numbers from a number pool in a few hours is like winning 649 jackpot.

I received a call from this number a few minutes ago and couldn't get to my cell phone in time.  If it is similar to other calls I have received in the past, I am NOT impressed.  I will be contacting Rogers about these call

Got that call 30 seconds ago, said I was a loyal customer and had won 3000 travel dollars, press 1.  I just hung up.  I hate that crap.  In Vancouver with Rogers.

Just got the call on my cell.  Recorded msg along the lines of "You've just received 3000 points for Canadian Tire.  Press 1 to accept..." Hung up immediately.  Hope everyone does the same.

I got the same call from that # on my cell. I never answer a # I don't recognize & if it's anything important or anyone I know they will leave a message, that's when I listen to my voice messages to see how important it was. That way I don't get scammed.

Just got a call on my Rogers cell in BC. Guess the government sold off our private cell numbers for a profit....again

I just had this # call my cell phone!  I did not answer as only a few select people have my number and this is not one!  I live in BC and my carrier is Telus.
