got a spoofed call from cc sherrifs office....another indian dude who said his name was gavin mcphearson   badge # 941201... guess what.  no indians on the sherrifs force here in carroll co.... so bunch of bunk - talked to a real officer about this - he said dont pay and call me again if either "attorney mike jones"  or "officer gavin mcphearson  badge number 941201" call again.... what these idiots dont know is i shoot first and ask questions later  so let em show up here

Was called by this guy claiming to be attorney mike jones... an indian - very heavy accent - stating that i was to pay US Legal Services a sum of 1500.00 or face 90 days in jail.... i was going to be arrested at my house and my employment was going to be terminated. He would not provide me an address or the name of the firm he worked for or the name of his supervisor. all he did was tell me the above information that either i pay up or face jail time of which there was going to be no bail allowed. and that i would be arrested today by my local court system. i called him back after seeing these posts... i did online complaints with both alabama states attorney website and md states attorney website....in addition to contacting my lawyer and local police

I have received numerous calls from this "Leo Fernandez" of US Legal Services - was on the phone with him for about 10-15 minutes trying to get information from him....I asked if this was Leo and he responded yes - he proceeded to ask me for my phone number and I was very adamant about giving him that information - so I went on to say that he was the one that contacted me just seconds ago that he should have that information on hand - so we argued about that why was he leaving threatening phone messages and he clearly denied it and I went on to say I have your VM. I continued to get information from him and even asked for a supervisor and he said there were about 7k people working in cases there are no supervisors.... I jotted the date and time I spoke to this (India) accent with a name Leo Fernandez didn't match up. I did a search...Low and behold this is what I found.  SCAM - Contact 911 to report

This Michael Jones has been calling my mother who is 73 telling her she is being sued and her ss# was also being sued. He was screaming at her telling her she did not understand and etc. etc.I was here when it happened I called him back and cussed him out and told him to never call her back I was going too the local police.

he just called me with the same thing but I knew he couldn't get a warrant to have me arrested that fast.  I gave him a mouth full after looking up his number his a** needs to be arrested!!!!!!

I received a voicemail from this number -I didn't answer. I spoke to local police who said if I were named in a lawsuit my local county courthouse would have sent me a notification. Even if the company were in Alaska they'd have to file with my county. Also, Reddit allows people from outside the US to sign up for domestic U.S. numbers so that they can't be traced back to their home country. In the end they hope to scare you by saying that if you pay this debt over the phone with a debit or credit card then you won't be arrested. People that don't know any better (and you would have received something in writing if  you were really being sued) will hear them say the last 4 digits of your social sec. # (which is easy to get for anyone who has ever used the internet for shopping or banking) and think they know all of your information. They don't have your whole # -something else they try to trick people into telling them- they just have the final 4 digits so don't share. Report them.

Well i got a call today cant remember his name but the number was 205-258-1808 . He said he was with the FTC and i had a warrant out for my arrest and would spend 90 days in jail and go in front of a judge and jury lol a jury . Give me a break . Well he said i owed student loans and cash advance of america , and other stuff . I had to pay it in full 1200.00 or i could pay 350.00 in 2 hrs and make payment arrangements . And if i didnt take his call when he called me back i would be arrested . So i called cash of america told them what just happened and they said it was a scam and i reported it to . Well he called back and i didnt answer .

They just did the same thing to me.I cant work at my job if i have anything in my background.I told them i am one step ahead of them and I am tracing their calls.They havnt called back.

got a call today from this number.  Said that I was being sued by my social.  Loved the fact he used the name Leo Fernandez with a heavy Middle Eastern Accent.  I told him never to call me, to p****off and that I was calling the cops.  Enough already.

This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information from unscrupulous websites like the one you may have filled out an application with, and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.

I received the same call. I'm a responsible consumer so I monitor my credit report regularly. When I told him it sounded like a scam, he hung up on me. I called the local police department, just to let them know when I would be home for them to pick me up. The nice officer laughed and said its a scam, but since its out of state he couldn't do anything. I noticed from the previous posts that the area code is from Clanton, AL. I called the sheriff's office there to report it. Poor woman had obviously heard this stuff before. She said they can't find the guy because its a tracfone and he could be anywhere. A shame this jerk has put a bad name to Clanton county, but everyone is looking for him and I feel that he will spend more time in jail than he has threatened us all with.

Same thing has happened to me today but not only from this number but several others and they call me every single day all day and it worries me that they have my husbands SSN, address and my phone number!!!! What can be done about this?

I also received a call from this #stating the same thing.that my address and my social security number are under investigation and I'd I do not call him back he will send the cops to my home to arrest me.  And also, could barely understand him. What a crock!

When will these crack pots get that: You can not sue a social security number, there is no such thing as a jail for people who do not pay their debts in the USA, and who would believe a foreigner with an American name and false agency / business. No prize for them.

I just receive a call from Mr Paul Rogers and said I had a lawsuit file against my social security number and did I have a lawyer??!  I didn't answer his question and he ask again and I said I don't believe a word you are saying!!  He then told me to get pen and paper to take down number to call back and I could get more information.  He then gave me the number and it was the same number I had on my caller id,haha.  I told him bye.  I have call the local police dept. and it's a Scam!!!!!! But with this said he said NOT to CALL the NUMBER BACK and Not to Call Back from a CELL Phone because they call get your number and lock it in and Track and Trace all your movement!!!!  I'm so glad I didn't call it back!!!  I have also called and had them Blocked from my home number and also called and Blocked the number from my cell just incase!!! The police dept. said it sounded like they had gotten some information from a Data Base!! He also said even if they give you your last 4 digits of your S.S. number it doesn't mean they have the whole number! What a world we live in now!!

I just receive this called and reported it to the local police dept.  The officer said Not to Call Back and Not to Call them back on a CELL PHONE because they will get your number locked in and Track and Trace all your movement.  This makes it easier for them to break in your home and ect.... I could not believe what he just told me but I have a member of my family on the police dept. and he said Yes they can do.  Just want to pass the word on!!!

I also have been getting called I got scammed by them for 300.00 thank you to everyone one who has posted about this I just wish I new earlier I have a friend in the FBI who is looking into the matter

I been getting phone calls for the last week from a Shawn Johnson and Michael jones from this number saying I was being sued and the I would be arrested if I didn't pay 1,286 dollars on a money green dot card immediately. I have reported this to my local police department and they are scammers. The guy with an Indian accent couldn't even pronounce my name or get the right city I was from. Stupid scammers taking all our money or trying too. Tomorrow I will be filing a lawsuit against these idiots. So angry..

It is a scam and the phone company should be putting a clamp on the number. However I bet they get kickbacks from this stuff. Wants to arrest, social security number and lots of b***s***.

Keeps calling me saying im being investigated i do have payday. Loans out there but i feel this is a scam

today happened the same-thing, ive been doing some loan shopping, and this number called me in the very morning, indian guy with strong accent, from 2052581808, guy said he was a investigator or something like that, dont remenber well, he said i was being suing, so he gave me a phone number to call, it was an attorney phone number with the name of SHAWN WHITE, didnt realized both number actually were the same, didnt pay attention to that because i was so intimidated at the time, so i called the anothe indian guy answer but this one still had an accent, but not as much as the first one, he looked up my name in his files and said that i was being sue for not paying a loan, he said i was going to be arrested in less than an hour if payment wasnt make, i actually believed it, he was so serious when talking to me, but i wasnt gonna send him any money, he told me to buy a green card, at walmart and send the number to him, which was so weird, i told one of my friend about it and told me that same guy called him, it was a scam, after that indian guy called me again and i told them to f...; off, he said i was gonna be arrested, a minutes after that another phone call, but this time from that town i live in, and it was another indian guy saying he was a police officer, and said he was gonna arrest me, i told him i already reported this matter to my local police department, and they stop the call, don fall for this, its a DAMN SCAM,

I already listed my complaint about this same phone call in another post. I just wanted to add an update, as I did just call that number back (205) 258-1808. When they guy answered, I simply said, "YOU have been reported to the authorities in Clanton, Alabama - and stop making these scam phone calls."

I then hung up.... and I feel just fine! :)

Lately, I have been finding 50-60 hang up calls on my answering machine at home.  While going through and erasing them, I got this one that had me rolling on the floor laughing! I have no outstanding debts and there is no reason for me to be worried by this fool.  The guy has a heavy Indonesian accent - and the company name is supposedly "U.S. Legal Services".  He says I am named in a lawsuit and my social security "numbers", an if I don't respond (I guess), I will be "arrested at my mailing address" (which is a P.O. Box... so good luck), AND be in detention for 90 days! He goes on to repeat that I "will be arrested".  It is not legal - IF THIS IS A DEBT COLLECTOR - to threaten "arrest" or "criminal prosecution", etc. especially if it is not true! I'd like to have his a** arrested!  I would assume this is a scam... and the only thing I can see these freaks getting out or making this scam calls, is that some young, inexperienced and/or desperate people will believe it and they end up sending these guys money - that they probably don't even know.  Ridiculous!

By the way, the number is a CELL Phone in Clanton, Alabama!!!  Although I don't want to give them the satisfaction of a reply, I have a good mind to call that number and tell them that THEY are being investigated and I know they are in Clanton, Alabama!  They DO think we're stupid! Guess again, fool!
