No one answers, but when I call the number back, a recording says, majic jack customer that you have called is unavailable and the mail box is full. The number is found to be in Birmingham, Alabama...

It was a professional telemarketer soliciting funds for the State Trooper Association.
Advice: If you wish to give to the State Trooper Association, do it directly rather than through the professional scammer - er telemarketer. When you donate through them, the Association get between 15% - 30% o9f your donation. The rest goes to the telemarketer and his associates who live much better than I do, a medically retired officer.

They are doing it again in 2014.  This is a scam.

It was probably a telemarketer contracted by the State Trooper Association for a fund-raising telethon. The telemarketers usually get at least 60% of all proceeds, so if you want to donate to the Trooper Association, I would recommend that you look up their address and send your donation directly to them. That way they would get the entire amount instead of less than half of what is donated.
A group like this approached our organization and made the pitch to our F.O.P. Lodge before I retired.

Ms Donna I got the same message also but they ask for me by my last name when they called.

We do not want this caller company (telemarketer) to call our home again.

Did not answer. FYI, if they say it is representing the AL troopers, they may well be. Different associations use this type of fundraising. A company will offer to do the fundraising for free and keep a certain percentage of the funds (normally a good amount). The associations look at it as extra income for free. (I know this because I was in one of this type association (police union) and when one of the members complained about the telemarketing "representing" us, this was the explanation given.

I got a call from them asking for a $15 dollar donation for breast cancer awareness, they called back twice didnt answer, didnt leave a message then when I call it back it says "the magic jack subscriber you have called in unavailable" GREAT

I do not and do not want to participate in their efforts..Believe it to be a scam, since most police officers know nothing about this

I WOULD LIKE FOR WHOEVER THIS IS TO sTOP CALLING ME PLEASE. I just dont feel like answer my phone then you hang up. I will cancel my phone...and just use my cellphone.

Add these guys to your "call forwarding" list and then set that list to "forward" to your congressman's local office.
Congress added the loopholes that allow these people to do this, only congress can force the telcom companies to crack down on these folks.

If your congressman ever complains about getting your telemarketing calls, tell him you totally sympathize with him and will support any legislation he/she will pass to make them stop calling.

I just called the number and a recording said "The Magic Jack customer you have called is not available"

called, and asked to speak to the manager. as i am the manager, they hung up. i called back (thinking this was a client) and got a magic jack voice mail, and said the message was full.

Called saying they were apart of the breast cancer society. Asked my name, date of birth, and a contribution commitment to the society. I played it nicely till the end when she wanted to know my exact date of birth. Bunch of scammers.

Caller hung up after I answered.Called back and message said magic jack customer not avaible.

Got a call asking for donations for Breast Caner research. Won't take "no" for answer. I just let her spill her script and then asked if she was finished and then hung up.

Lady asked for me by name. Said she was collecting donations for some National Breast Cancer organization. I told her I gave to local chapter. She thanked me and hung up.

Received call today from this number. Recording about winning something, whatever. Wanted name and address. said I would have to send small amount of money to claim prize.

Now they are saying they are collecting for breast cancer & asked for me by name, the woman of the house. Already gotten several calls from them & I have asked to be removed. I am on Do Not Call list, but apparently that doesn't help.

I received a call from this number (and other numbers as well).  The called identified himself as collecting money for Alabama State Troopers.  I personally know someone who started the collection business for public safety people and he bragged about how much money he and the telemarketers made so I'd NEVER donated to any organization that calls me on the phone.  My favorite response, I don't have any money.  

Just received a call from 1-205-264-1204 They hung up after 3 calls so I called it back and a recording said that it was the Million Dollar Sweepstakes and to claim my prize ECT.......

Found the number on Caller ID and it went to voicemail claiming it was Mega Millions International.  It said if I won over 10 million dollars you had to leave your name and number and they would surely get back to you.  It then goes to a mail box that can't accept anymore messages.  Of course it is a foreign speaker.  

Just got a call from this #, hung up after 3 rings.  Don't know who or what this call was about.

Caller said he is Chris calling about public awareness....I hung up!!!

If the State Troopers want money then why does there number come up UNKNOWN NUMBER, will not be getting any money from me and then  I received a call from this number 1-205-264-1204 and called it back and a recording came on and it was some man that you couldn't understand a word he was saying, said leave a message and they would get back with you, REALLY !!!!!!! .
