I am tired of getting calls from this number.  They do not say anything when I answer.  I am on the do not call list.  What do I have to do so I can stay updated so no one will call me from numbers like this any more?

Got a call from them last night at 6:59.  Husband answered the phone and was asked if we wanted to donate to families of deceased police and firefighters.  Husband forgot to tell them we are on the national do not call list.  He just said no thanks and they hung up.

This nut is calling every two or three days. Never leaves a message on the answering machine.

Received two calls on July 7, 2008. They did not leave a message on the answering machine either time. Very annoying.

Received the call at 2:00 p.m. on June 6, 2008.
The caller asked for me by nameand then hung up when I asked who he was.

I answered this call and the caller was soliciting money for the Alabama Sheriff's Fund. I hung up on him.P2E8

Stupid bastard cop gave me a ticket for speeding 5 mph over.  When I complained , he added another 10 mph.  First ticket in 15 years.  Now they call and harass and want me to donate.

Sure, I'll give.  Bend over.

I am not home when they call. But I called the number back and it gave me a sound like you get from a fax machnine.

Just received a phone call (1:30 in the afternoon Saturday) and a guy started to speak and then the phone went dead.  I've been on the Do Not Call registry for over 6 months now, so I should not be receiving any calls at all....

This person keeps calling my number and when I answer, they hang up.  Extremely annoying.

Just got a call.  Picked up on the first ring.  The caller hung up in my face.  I wonder if my wife had picked up if the caller would have made the sales pitch.  :shrug:

Called the GA Peace Officer Network and told them what their telemarketing contractor was doing. They took my information and said that they will have my name removed. I asked for the telemarketers number, and they would not provide it. I hope everyone calls this number and tells them what is going on.

In one of the comments posted by an anonymous person it says that the company uses a T-1 phone line so that they cant be reached buy harrasing phone calls. This will be a blatant overstatement of the obvious irony. But isn't that exactly what several calls throughout the day with repeated hang-ups are. You people need to provide the same courtesy that you deny us. STOP THE HARRASING PHONE CALLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also got a call from this same number. Party hungup when I answered the phone.

I get this number on my caller ID often.  When I pick up, there is nobody there and no message is ever left on my answering maching.  VERY ANNOYING.

This man just called my home from 1 205-313-0897 and asked to speak to my wife, I told him that she wasn't available and if I could take a message, but the man hung up. I called back using my cell phone, but a recording said "we are sorry but the number you have dialed can not be reached from your specila phone"

received a call from this number tonight at 6:01 PM.  We answered it but nobody was there.

We get calls from this number at least once daily, and they always hang up.  When we try to call the number back, we only get something stating that we can not make the call on our phone.  It is really annoying because we are constantly interupted during supper and our infant son is often awakened by the call.

Just got a call from this number (7:20 pm), answered it and nobody responded.

Just got this call about 10 minutes ago, and I live in Georgia for Pete's sake! Also got the same message when I called back.

What everyone should do is just keep calling that number back and see what happens!!!

I work for the company...it is pretty awesome i think. The main 3 organizations we call for are Peace officer's Association of Georgia, the Georgia association of Emergency medical services, and the Texas Association of emergency medical services. We are located in hoover alabama and we call statewide GA and TX. We represent non-profit civic charities and have to feed our families just as you people do. All of these allegations people make about legitimacy are crazy as we are clearly within the realm that the various state attorney generals allow for us. We call from a T-1 phone line and for the most part we hide our true location due to threatening/harassing phone calls. That is all the info I can provide at this time. If you have more questions, ask don't assume. This message has been sent via 2 proxies and any attempt to trace/hack will be fruitless...

Rick Taylor was the man's name.  He was polite and I said, ,politely, that if he has my record in front of him he must realize I only respond to mail not telephone.   He started to thank me for past donations forcing me to say, "No more talking."  That's not my nature and it's stressful to have to do that.  10 years ago, before I was hip to how little actually goes to the police.  I no longer contribute except for my local policemen.

These call can't possible generate the money they expect and it's at the cost of perpetual interruptions night and day to telephone customers.

Mr. Callan informed the Committee how the telemarketing aspect of the project would operate.  He noted that the Company fully recognized that it was essential that all contacts to prospective supporters be courteous and forthright at all times and handled in a manner that will reflect well on both the Association and the membership.  He also outlined the many procedures that had been implemented to assure that the solicitation process would be handled in the most professional manner possible.  He explained that telephone contacts to prospective sponsors would be made from an office location either in Georgia or another state from the southeast region.  All callers would be employees trained and monitored to assure strict adherence to a telephone script approved in advance by the Association.

           Each sponsor who agrees to make a pledge would receive by mail a packet including the following:  A confirmation form noting the date and amount of the contribution including an 800 number to call for any questions, a decal with the POAG emblem, a “thank you” letter describing the Association’s activities and objectives and a reply envelope for sending back payment.  The format of all of the foregoing materials would be approved in advance by the Association and display the POAG logo.  This packet would only be sent after the initial commitment of a donation was verified by a second caller.  If a promised response was not forthcoming within 25 to 30 days thereafter, a follow up confirmation reminder would be sent by mail.  If a response still was not received, a final reminder would be sent after another 25 to 30 days.

           Any inquiries or complaints received in the Association office relating to this program would be passed along to the Company for follow up.  Mr. Callan provided assurance that all such inquiries would be thoroughly and promptly addressed.  Such follow up would include a contact from the Company to the sponsor and a report back to the Association concerning the disposition of the inquiry.

Have received calls from this number numerous times, each with a hang up.  Finally had enough and filed a complaint with the FCC, FTC, and an email inquiry to the Birmingham Police Dept.

Received a call from this number last night, when answered no one was there. I tried to call back and it said that this number does not allow calls from this special phone.

Hey these people are just trying to make a living, stop being jerks and deal with it. Or get your phones cut off.
