I think it's from windows live messenger I just recently got an email from there gave them my phone # just incase I "lost my information" and I think that's how they know my name and my number. Just a guess.? But it's getting really annoying.

like the other commenter, i just receive text messages saying hey and my name, like they want me to think it's a friend. the area code is from alabama--no friends there. isn't this illegal for companies to send unwanted text messages since not everyone has unlimited texting??

this phone number is associated with textplus.com. i've recieved several text messages just saying hello and my name. My kids babysitter has recieved several messages as well and my husband also. all from random numbers associated with textplus.com
