Just got a call from this number offering an alcohol addiction program

They called me twice in a row. I don't answer calls that i don't know the number to.

called it back. Seems to be for home security watch via the internet. press 1 to talk to a rep or 2 to be removed. called back on a landline when they called my cell

Got this call at 4:30pm. Didn't answer-don't know anyone from area 205.

Called me but did not leave a message. This area code is from the Birmingham AL area, I don't know anyone in AL or any adjacent state.

I just got a call from this number as well and looked it up online; it's from alabama, probably Birmingham. It fits the profile of calls I've been getting for a long time. My guess is this is related/from an illegal "floating" telemarketing "business." I got on their list when I stupidly bought a prescription I needed from one of those sites where you type in your symptoms and a doctor somewhere, in this case a doctor practicing in West Virginia, mails you the medication. I come to find out what I should have known all along, that that is not legal, them distributing Rx meds without an office visit and over state lines, no less (I got a non-narcotic muscle relaxant). For the next three years, I have received the same type of call, sometimes more than one call, every day. Often the number will be the same for awhile, then they go to a new location (or that's how it appears from what comes up on the caller id).  Unfortunately, many numbers cannot be blocked with basic call block service from the phone company, nor will Verizon give me a new number for free despite the harassing nature of the calls and their frequency. You might think, did I give my phone number to any internet site recently? Just a thought, hope this helps you get to the bottom of things . . .

Got a call from this number about 5 minutes ago, I'm at work, so I didn't answer. No message left. The Caller ID on my cell says "Birminham, AL". Reading everyone's comments assures me it is a scam, or some other sort of bullspit. If they call again, I'll be contacting the state of Alabama and requesting they open an investigation.

Got a hang up call from this number earlier and when calling it back got a recording to press any number it's another scam.

I too, have been wanting to know who this number belongs to. I'm glad to see I'm not alone on this. You are correct about the "do not call" list.

Recieved a call from 205 440 3733. Answered by saying hello paused said it twice more and only heard breathing. Stayed on the phone for about 30seconds when I didn't hear anything I hung up. Thinking it was some kids prank calling me I called back to request them to stop. Upon calling an abnormal computer voice of a woman stated to press any key to be added to the do not call list . I pressed 8 then my phone said the call was lost. I called back same occured and I pressed 1 and it end the call automatically.  Don't appreciate calls such as these especially when I just received this new phone number. I would really like to know what its about.

I do not know anybody in Alabama, how can I stop these calls?

Just a note, a do not call list is a list a company keeps (and supposedly a national list too although I am on it and still get several spam calls) of people they are legally obligated not to call again.  It is one of the safeguards on consumer privacy.  So if you push a button to be added to this list, you are saying you want them never to call you again, and legally they are obligated to respect your wishes from that point on.  It is not a call-back list.

Got a call from this number 2 minutes ago. Didn't recognize the number so I let it ring. It would appear no message was left for me. Spooky.

Received a call from this number. This number is unknown to me. Tried to answer but no response from the caller.

I got a message today around 4:22 pm. I called them back and it was a recorded message saying "press any digit to be put on the do not call list". I didn't press any digits because i don't want them to call me back.
