I suspect that michael horst and tw (and perhaps a couple of others posting above) are involved with/initiating this scam and trying to do "damage control" when people start to figure out what's going on. Regions' Customer Service Center number is 1-800-REGIONS.

I keep getting calls from this number on my cell phone.  I don't even have an account with this bank and never have.  I have always had an account with my local credit union since I was just a child and one was started by family years ago.  I have repeatedly e-mailed them and told them to please stop calling my number.  They keep saying it will take about 10 days but this is crazy.  I am thinking about changing my cell number.

The problem with what you just said is that I do my banking through a credit union and have never used Regions bank in my life.  They are calling my cell phone which I have had this number for about 6 months now so if it belonged to someone else previously who banked with them then I'm being bothered repeatedly for no reason.  I am going to have to change my cell number for this problem now.

It may or may not be regions bank. Recently I received a call from something like that and an hour later had to vlose my bank account, hot wire my debit card and almost change my number. Regions will always leave a voicemail and if not its most likely the identity scam going on right now..so please be careful!

its regions and for all you people who are saying they are harrasing people and everything...you wouldnt get harrasing phone calls if you would just pay your bills and take care of overdue accounts.i just got a phone call from regions and im sure glad i answered it...they told me i have an enourmous over draft on my account and they helped me figure out that my identity had been stolen.so just answer the phone next time...it could help you out tremendously

I got a call from the same number and they claimed to be Regions Bank Corporate office. Because of the above comments, I questioned who they really were, and the female said they really are Regions Bank. I then asked why they were calling me when I have absolutley nothing to do with Regions Bank. She wanted my phone number and address.  I don't think so. Don't you love it when companies (as they claim to be) call you and then ask for your number and want your life history of information.

Hey Michael, it may very well be Regions, but explain this. I have never had an account with Regions bank in my life. I am the best when it comes to paying my bills as soon as I get them. So, your comment on "if you would pay your bill on time, you would not be getting the call" is crap! Yea, it is harrasment in its lightest form, but still I don't like them calling and wanting my information. Hum, can I have your account number?????

Guys, this is REGIONS BANK, not an affiliate of Regions, not a 3rd party collection agency. This is REGIONS BANK collections department. That particular number handles car loans, unsecure installment loans and CD's. If they are calling a number, they either had it for you as a contact number or they found it skip tracing. Simply call 205-560-7228 or 8186 and they can assist you with why they are calling. In order for them to verify you, they will rightfully ask for the last 4 of your SSN (inbound call only), name, address, phone number and P.O.E. This is needed for collection purposes.

If you have an account with Regions. PAY YOUR BILL......If you do not, I reccommend calling that number and having them remove your number.
I do love it

because how else could they verify who you were? Would you want them to call another number and start giving your personal information to someone else? Get real, pay your freaking bill, and if you don't have an account, call them back and have them remove it

Federal law states that a voicemail can only be left ONCE a day. Please quit trying to pretend you know everything. Jesus, you had to "vlose" your account because you had 30 NSF's probably

You don't really believe that you should call the FBI do you? Did you call the number that you posted? That is a regions bank number. Meant for people overdrawn on their checking accounts.

Steven is right. I used to work for Regions Collections Dept. and this is one of the numbers. If you feel suspicious or uncomfortable with verifying information just go to your nearest branch and inquire about the phone call. They can even call the corporate office (located in Birmingham, AL) or whatever number called you while you are standing there. There are different numbers that they call from, usually depending on what type of account (checking/savings, installment loans, mortgages, odp, etc.) they're collecting on. They will never ask for your full social (just your last 4 if you call in) and they will always refer you to a branch if the phone call is uncomfortable to you.

I kept getting calls from this number. No message or anything. Finally, they called me 10 times in a twenty minute span this morning while I was trying to sleep. So I finally answered and they were looking for someone that had this phone like 6 years ago. Don't be alarmed, just answer and set the record straight. They apologized and promised to take my number out of the system.

This is Regions bank. They called me to verify my account info such as my address, phone number, and last 4 of my ssn. I think this was all brought upon because my account was overdrafted by a draft that was pulled from my account without my knowledge. Everything was cleared up and the item was returned although I was still charged the overdraft fee. :-( They were not trying to be rude. They were simply trying to ensure my account was ok and get to the root of the problem of the overdraft.

Thank you, Michael. It helped me tremendously. They returned the amount and I called the person who tried to draft the account and set something up with them. It appears that when I canceled phone service, I still had an autodraft with them and they tried to pull out the entire remaining balance which was a lot because I didn't understand the terms and conditions of my terminating the line. Either way, it was my goof with them (for not reading the fine print), and it was fixed thankfully by my bank who has always done a great job with my account. I don't argue the $35 overdraft fee because it was my own stupidity that caused it. I'm just thankful that my bank was looking out for me and called me to verify my information and to make sure all was ok.

I received a call from this number but did not answer.  A name did not appear on my caller ID, simply the number.  When I called back, an automated voice came on the line and said thank you for calling Regions Bank, a teller will be with you in a moment.  I hung up before anyone answered.  I do have an account with Regions but do not have any issues.

I received this phone call on my cell about 5 times within the past few months. They claimed to be Regions Bank and was asking for a person named Allen Reynold (or Riddle... something close... couldn't really understand). It's getting RATHER annoying. I received another call with the same area code but the rest of the numbers were different but they left the exact same message on my voice mail. I don't know what's going on but this is so frustrating. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one with this problem.

Called 4:45 p.m. Sunday afternoon, claimed to be Regions calling about banking business. Ask for me or my husband (using our full names). Wanted to verify our home address for security reasons. Would only give 'banking business' as the reason for the call. When I said that it was Sunday afternoon and I wasn't going to give my address, she said they could call back another time or I could call a branch on Monday.

Regions Bank calling for someone who hasn't had this number for a decade. I'm guessing they're just now sifting through Union Planter's shoddy records keeping.

Received a call from 205-560-8186 but it showed Regions Bank as the name on the caller ID. We simpy got a recording to hold on and a representative would be with you in just a minute. Then it hung up. This call was made to my business and this is the 3rd one we received. Each time that same thing happens

this phone number belongs to a collection agency.  They try to disguise their number as being from a bank but it's actually a collection department trying to receive as much info as they can to satisfy a debt
