A guy calls my house and ask to speak to my husband by name when i tell him he isn't in he then  hangs up. This guy has called my phone several times

Probably yet another caller from Dytel, Inc.  I've seen this number associated with scam Law Enforcement fundraisers, and extended auto warranty scams.

YES my phone company says that it's a Auto Warranty Scam group so beware!

Caller asked for my husband by name I said he was not home and would he like to leave a message.  Called replied he was Justin Smith with the Alabama State Police and hung up.

Got a call from a guy stating he was from the Alabama State Police ASsociation and was collecting money to take care of families of slain officers.

FYI:  There is no such thing as the Alabama State Police Association.

Reminds me of a scam call I got a few months ago from the same group asking for money to buy body armor.  (was reported in newspaper as scam also)

I got this call yesterday 6-24-10, My housekeeper answered the phone. The man sounded angry, asking for my husband by name, she said he wasn't in and asked to take a message.  He then asked for Mrs. *****, still angry. She said I wasn't in either, then he hung up.  The number registered on caller ID as Birmingham, AL  Who ever this is, I tried calling back when I got home and it went to voice mail and said the mail box was full.  However this is, one day they are going to call the wrong person that has contacts with the phone company that can find out who the phone is registered and then this person is going to get into trouble.  I HOPE !

Just got the phone call for the 3rd time in about 24 hours. Never say anything, just hang up about 5 to 10 seconds after I answer the phone.

We keep getting calls from this # - just got one, and they hung up when I said hello.  Grr.  Why bother calling when they seem to hang up on everyone who answers?  Jerks.

Have been getting calls from this number 2 to 3 times a day. When you answer they hang up.  I sure hope somebody gets these aggravating scammers!

RECEIVED SEVERAL CALLS FROM THIS NUMBER . I CALLED BACK LONG DISTANT AND GOT A MESSAGE THAT THE MAIL BOX WAS FULL

Just got a phone call. They didn't ask for anyone, just silence then dial tone, but have gotten a call from this number twice within a day.

they called me, asked for me by name, i responded that it was me, and they hung up. i called back and it went to a full mailbox. i googled the number and found this site. who is this mofo?

I have received several calls from this number.  They ask for me by name and immediately hang up.  Or if I call they automatically hang up.  I have contacted the police and they are unable to do anything about it.  They only ask that I keep a log.  I have since changed my number.  Why is it that no one can locate this number?

This is a scam targeting people who purchased a new vehicle. This person will try to tell you they are with the warranty company - they are not. They are frmo a competing warrenty company and they are tryign to get you to cancel your valid warranty and purchase thiers but they do this in a devious way so you do not realize that you have changed warranty companies. Do not give them any information about yourself or your car warranty as they ask for your car serial number. Your real warranty company already has this number and does not need to get it from you! Tell them they have been reported and then call your local authorities to report this fraud!
