It would have be nice if the hospital had informed us that we would be receiving a call  from JP Morgan instead of the actual hospital so that I could prepare myself and not think that I'm getting prank calls. This number has been calling me all day and not message is being left because of the HIPPA private policy.

I work at JL Morgan.  We work with hospitals across the United States, so if we call you in say, Arizona, that is why.  We work for over 200 healthcare facilities.  Our hospitals pay us to contact patients and find out how their stay went.  They do this so that the hospital personnel are free to provide patient care, and not have to worry about calling their patients back.  They also do preventative care calls, where they call and ask about your condition and try to answer any questions you may have about medications, your condition, etc.  Nurses conduct those calls.  The rest are Patient Satisfaction and HCAHPS (mandated by CMS) calls.  I encourage you, if you were contacted by one of our employees and they were rude, or anything but kind to you, that you please email shanna.tucker@emedsurvey.com.  I will gladly pull the recording of your call and review it, should you feel you have been treated badly by any employee at JLM.

I am a manager and would love to help explain any issues you may have. Thank you.  We strive to make the transition home a safe one for our patients.

I got a call from a Birmingham #205-995-4226 but I didn't answer because I never answer the phone if I don't recognize the number but they didn't leave a message either. sometimes I get calls that shows up out of area, out of area also  and I've put my name on the do not call list several times but that don't seem to stop those kind of calls either.they might stop for a few days but they start back calling again so what should I do.

if it is true that they want to survey, then that is a common practice not to show their ID, nor accept calls, for most are done from an automated system and will just circulate your number until they get a definitive NO from you. So answer and say NO and ask them to remove your number from their list. Legally, they are to comply immediately.

Received a call two hours ago but only now discovered the call to my cell phone, since they didn't bother to leave a message.

One of the BEST aspects of having "rooted" (aka hacked) my Android smart phone is the ability to use a call blocking application that is vastly superior to what you can install on a standard Android or Apple phone.  With the app I use (Root Call Blocker Pro), I can select from several "rejection" modes and selectively reject (aka block) either unwanted calls, text msgs, or both for any specific numbers.  In my case, I use a preset option to "Block...from anyone NOT in my phone contacts list", with the default rejection setting so that my phone never rings on blocked calls.  I just see a little notification bar at the top of my screen similar to the Missed Call notification you might normally receive.  That is how I learned about the call.  If you like it will retain a log of blocked calls and even save blocked SMS messages (in case you wanted to receive the message) so that you can add them back to your phone call log, contacts, and your text messaging application.  Handy if you receive calls and text messages from relatives with a tendency to change their phone numbers frequently.  LOL.  But enough of me bragging and advertising a phone application that I'm not getting paid to represent.  The long and short of it is this: If you want to avoid being bothered by collection agencies, marketing surveys, and political robo-calls and you have an Android-based phone or iPhone, there are detailed instructions and even little applications (in some cases) for how to hack (aka "Root" for Android or "Jail-break" for iPhones) your smart phone to give yourself the SuperUser permissions to do things like remove unwanted "bloatware" (unwanted applications and demo games installed by your phone carrier that do nothing but waste the limited system memory resources of your phone and install apps like Root Call Blocker.  If you rooted/jail-broke your phone for just those two reasons, that alone would make your life and the enjoyment of your phone MUCH better.

That being said, I don't even know WHY J.L. Morgan called me.  But, come to think of it, I had to have a pre-employment urinalysis test and physical exam @ Concentra a couple of weeks ago, for a new job that I start next week.  I'll bet THAT is the stimulus that prompted this call, since it's been over 6 months since the last time I even visited a hospital.  These "a$$-clowns" KNOW that people do not appreciate these post-visit surveys but they persist in calling until someone answers the phone and tells them to p****off.

In the past three months I have had multiple occasions to receive phone calls from this number.  I really don't mind giving feedback as long as the surveyor is courteous and professional and that is assuming that the results get back to the service provider in tact and entire.  My objection is the manner in which JL Morgan is unidentified on the phone calls.  HIPAA or not, telemarketers (or tele-surveyors in this case) must realize that they are subject to two-way customer service just like anyone else.
Number one:  I don't wear a tele-headset and sit at a computer so it often takes me a long while to get to the phone and there is no one there.  By nature of and the association of the services they are monitoring, you have to understand that I cannot move very fast to answer the phone.  Perhaps there is another medium to use.
Second:  By not identifying, it concerns me and can stress me out because I have a lot of family that lives in that area code, so unknown calls that cannot be returned leave a question about health and well being.

I also work for this company. I can assure everyone that JLM is a highly reputable and very professional company. Their services are a requirement of CMS and conducted on behalf of hospitals, home care agencies, and physicians.  The survey methodology is extremely detailed and must be conducted without deviation.  Surveyors are not allowed to leave messages and must give the patient five different opportunities to complete the seven minute confidential survey.

Every person employed by this company must sign confidentiality and HIPAA documents of compliant understanding. Failure to comply with such understanding results in immediate termination. There are no exceptions.

Hopefully this brief explanation will help everyone's understanding of this company's mission.

Thank you

Go to FTC.gov. You can file a formal complaint there. The calls will then stop within about two weeks. Mine did. First of all, use the dead air, that is illegal. Second, if they use an auto dialer, that is illegal. Third, the time of day they are calling is illegal. Fourth, they should state the nature and purpose of their call when asked. Simply saying they are Rebecca with JL Morgan is not stating the nature and purpose of their call, which you are entitled to know whether or not you are the person they are calling. Make the complaint!

You should not have any patient's information  without their prior consent to participate in a survey!

Further, you should state the hiring of your company by the hospital when the phone call is initiated, instead of hiding behind a company name. No one knows who you are, so they aren't going to answer you unless you say you are calling on behalf of whatever hospital the person was treated at and that you were hired by them and why. This is part of FCC regulations and is required by law when asked of you. Why don't you quit hiding behind your name and just state the purpose of the call?

Geez!

This is not a telemarketer.  The people that call you do not know anything about you other than your name and phone number. They are trying to ask you questions about your health since discharge, or to find out any issues you might have had with your stay.  Its funny that you're all up in arms about a do not call list... they are simply calling the numbers you provided to the hospital.

I have found out the do not call list is worthless. I have the federal do not call on my phone and they still call. Telemarketers can still find a way around it so it doesn't do any good to have it. DO NOT CALL LIST IS A JOKE!!!!!

Just got a phone call from this number, was expecting a call from someone so I picked it up without looking. When the woman asked for me by name I knew it wasn't who I was expecting. I feel bad that I just hung up the phone, but now that I know it was a health survey, I feel better. They already have too much info on us. It's just going to get worse when Obamacare kicks in. Then even people not related to the health industry will have our info as well. Speaking as a Pharmacist myself.
