I received a call from this number today telling me I had won a grant for $7000. When I asked what it was for I was told that I was selected back in December from a drawing of 1700 people. He then askes how I wanted the money deposited. I refused to provide my bank or any card numbers. He then offered to send me a card and asked about my mailing address and quotes me an old mailing address of mine from about 4 years ago. I told him I no longer lived there and he then askes for my current address. I told him before I give him that information I wanted him to tell me what my last name was. I told him since he worked for the government and I had been selected then he must know my last name. He told me he didn't have that information and I then told him I believed that this was a scam and hung up on him.

I had some friends that started scamming the scammers that sent the e-mail form Nigeria. (Nigerian money drop) Maybe it is time to start scamming the Grant Scammers. Waste their time at the least get some money out of them at the best. Somehow we have to get the miserable rat B$#&erds to under stand it is not nice to mess with Americans.

I agree with all of these stories i got a call from 202-684-6525 first from a jessie a female with an foriegn accent then she refered me to a stephanie another woman with a foreign accent they had my name and adress and city and state and zip code correct supposedly she was the supervisor but she said i was randomly selected for a federal govt. grant for $9,000 and it could be directly deposited to me debit card or account, or i can go to western union and get it from there but i'd first need to get a greendot card with $200 on it for a security deposit because of the large amount of money and to get an access code to release the money to me. Unfortuneately i did so and then she transferred me to an Antonio Jackson another guy with an accent and his number is 347-573-9347 he then said as a tax fee for my state i'd have to first give the 9% wich was $800 via another greendot card and then a total of $10,000 will be transfered to any western union of my choice all in all i didnt go theu with it and i hope this helps someone not get got like i did its a total SCAM.

I got the same call after going on line and looking up the number i called back n told them this is a scam the lady said anyone can write anything online i asked to speak to someone higher up then her he then told me to hold pushed a few buttons then a woman wit a diff name but the same voice got on the phone how can u do this to someone me n my boyfriend dont have much we are homeless n trying so harf we thought at frist this could br a blessing they didnt ask for money at frist n knew all his info we were talking about getting a house wit the money n a car n getting our kids home with us its so messed up how ppl can do this to other ppl who are having hard times

Got the same call said i was picked out of 1500 people. The first time ,they called me private then gave me another number to call and verify who i am. 2068665705. A woman who obviously was new to the scam and unprofessional answered. She couldnt tell me what the 200 was for. I hung up then called back and a clearer smooth talking indian man tried explainin why i needed a green dot card and put 200 on it. I told him it was a scam and he really tried to convince me it wasnt. His name was jay lol. He knew tht girl messed up too bcuz he said she would handle the card when i called back. How did he know who i was talkin to. And why didnt she know anything. And why did i hear kids Very elaborate scam. Lol

I have been receiving calls for me the numbers telling me that there's free government grant being given to me because I pay my bills on time and I'm not file bankruptcy when you let them go through the whole spiel at that point you let him know that it is a scam and to the host they get mad at you and start calling you names cussing you out saying stupid American than me turn around and start saying you 80 year old woman they are not only attacking the young generation but they are taking our senior citizen at this time I think all of us need to pull together and stand up for our senior citizens and stand up for our God given rights from United States of America we need help with these problems it's not going to stop until somebody help us make it stop they just keep getting different numbers with different area codes and calling they have another number that is it starts with 000 please please don't fall for any of this it is not true god bless you all

Ed I just got the same call, the number 202 559 7618 from Washington just called me. I had noticed calls from U.S. Govt for a few days now. When I answers they new my name, my address, wanted my birthday. Exact same thing as everyone is saying. The bad thing is my 12 year old son is fighting a rare cancer and I don't really have time for a scam. I wonder why they are getting away w this. Using us govt numbers and has been doing so since 2011. They need to be stopped asap!!!!!

Mines was 202 621 5429 man i knew something was fishy i was listening to these ppl say the same stuff over and over and they had my address already something told me to look it up im glad god took me to the right site, NOTHING IN LIFE IS FREE JUST BE #SUCKAFREE lol

I just received a call from 202-210-0054, a man "Frank" claimed to be from the government saying that I had been randomly selected for a government grant in the amount of $9000.  He told me that I needed to give him my bank card information or credit card number to receive the money.  I knew it had to be a scam and told him that I had no proof of who he was and was not giving him my information, so he suggested that I go buy a green dot card and asked what time he could call back... When I told him that I still had no proof of his identity he hung up the phone.  I tried to call the number back to see what it was and a message comes through that "the person I am trying to reach is no longer available."  

Did u Ever receive a check cause I just spoke with a guy as well saying the same thing. I am supposed to call this number to claim my check. And have a Grant # code. I Don't believe it. There's No Way I Just get picked out of Millions of Ppl approved For FREE MONEY.  I NOT GIVING OUT ANY INFORMATION JUST GOING TO ASK FOR A CHECK TO BE MAILED.

I got a similar cal from 855 533 5456 and was told I'd been selected to receive 7000 from a federal grant and had to call 206 317 1607 to speak with he finance mananger.....I called and gave them the approval number they provided and they asked how I wanted to receive the money....direct deposit or western union bur when I said what's the difference I was asked if I knew what a federal grant was and then after elling me to go online to check federal grants they hung up the phone......scam!!!!!!!!

The same thing happened to me. 206 number. Amanda was her name and yes they asked me to put 299 into green dot money card at Walmart. She also said she was calling from the us government. I said, feel free to mailed me a check.


Fishy

They had called me with a blocked number. They gave me a Grant Code # RY157. Told me to call another number (202-697-9394). I called the second Number. She said to call her when I get to the Wal-Mart or Walgreens for Western Union. So, I called her about 15min later and said I was at the western union. She said " why would you be at the western union store, when i told you to go to wal-mart or walgreens"? So, I said "yes, I am at walmart at the western union in walmart". I was really still at home though. =) .... She said "ok, do you have your deposit money". I said "yes, I already gave it to them". She said "you already gave it to them? , Did you get the 7,500 dollars? , you got the 7,500 dollars?" She asked me that about 4 times. I just kept saying yes, thank you. Speaking fast, with confusion and a bit of an attitude, she said "ok, good, thanks, bye!". BAahahhaha....... lol...

I also  received a call from 206 #, telling me i was selected to win $7000 from the federal government.i could do anything i wanted too do with it, told me i was selected because they do surveys on people who have no debts, Patty there accounts on time and all that.seemed to good too he true.told them how is it possible, Hoe do i know that it isn't a scam.he just told me i was receiving the call from the governments office, it couldn't be a scam, he needed to verify some info.on me asked if he had my name correct, nd then he was going too ask for my address when signal was lost. I didn't believe it, googled it and i found all these messages with people that have heard the same thing. So isay it is all b.s. Hasome things just sound too good too be true

You're welcome. I thought about this a bit more after I logged off last night. I wonder if it would be possible for you to take the police report to your landlord and explain what happened ? I don't know your situation, but with the report in hand to prove the validity of your claim, perhaps your landlord would be willing to grant an extension on your rent ?

First of all, don't beat yourself up. You're not going to be able to get your money back if you used Western Union, but you need to take a few steps to protect yourself .

Please place a flag on your credit report with Experian, TransUnion, and Equifax. This will prevent new lines of credit being taken in your name without verifying that you are the one applying for 6 months. This protection is free of charge.

I'm an idiot and fell for it all ....... It was one fee after the other and I was constantly reassured ...... Now my rent money is gone and I feel raped both mentally and financially $5,000 and I'm at a loss for what to do I filed a co,mplaint with th e police department and they made me feel more of a fool then I already do ........ So soon to be homeless and all over a grant that never existed ... Tey knew my name address don and what school I attended and I figure this would help pay off some of my student loan I'm such an idiot

I also got a call from these guys. I almost fell for it because I was really sleepy during the day and the guy named Mark (lol) Indian accent told me that he work for federal grant department, i was one of the 1700 chosens to receive this money. area code was 202 in D.C.  He gave me the code then he told me to western union to some kind of deposit my money for $320 and I would receive $7k because i filed taxes on time, no criminal record, no sign of bankruptcy and its once in life time plus $320 back from my deposit just to verify that I am the right person then call another guy so he could tell me step by step of how to do.  But because when they called me, I was sleepy so I thought it was $20 deposit via western union so I actually drove to western union store and called them back ( now I kinda have my mind back).  So when I got there, I called them and they said I have to deposit $320 cash. I asked them why $320 if they just need to verify then a dollar should be enough but they said its the government policy (my thought was like ok)  then my final question was "since you are callin from D.C. then I'll go see u guys in person because I live really close in D.C. area (they have my address but I don't think they have any idea where it is). They put me on hold for a few mins then came back on again saying I can't come to their office, authorize personnel only (lmao). I said ok whatever.  Then he hung up the phone.  LOL

Wow so crazy i just receive a call.from a women she told.me i can get a money pak so i did then said i couldnt use it then stated that i had to call Gary taylor w pd350  @ 2024700336 to confirm and he kept hanging up every time there was a transfer involvedsuch a.scam they also had Indian accent but did sound very sufficient as if they were in a call centersmh

Got the call 10 minutes ago but I never used H&R block or amason. I laughed and hung up

I had receive a call on 5/12/13 by a woman with a blocked number and she told me she works for the U.S. federal Grants dept. Then she gave me a number to call which was 202-621-0436 in order to receive the money along with a pin or a code number NA102. When i called a woman with maybe an India accent with the name Mary Johnson. Too funny!,,,Anyway, she told to me the condition of being selected.Which is impossible cause i file in my first married name.  She called me by my new married last name. Whats funny is that i know this came off the internet because i just got married in Feb and i have not even changed my name on my utility bills yet. Still Laughing...I am to return her call tomorrow when the bank open so i can go to the western union and allow her to speak to the representative before i send the money. It is 100% refundable in the amount of 280.00 with my 7000.00 grant. I am not a fool and i am so glad i didn't give them any information on me.  They had the wrong address. What they don't know is my credit is monitor and i must approve any new accounts. I hope someone bust these evil spirit people.

I recieved a call telling me that I had recieved a $8,400.00 government grant for free.  All they wanted was my checking or savings number or even a credit card number.  I had recently applied for a credit card that you put the money on.  I didn't activate it yet but I gave them that number.  They then told me that I had to call the person in charge of the accounts department and give them the Federal Id number that they gave me. First person whom called had a heavy accent.  His name he told me was Joshua Roberts.  His phone number was 202-666-3552.  The second person whom I called first left the information and he then called me back and if I herd him right he said that I had to pay a one time fee of $240.00 and then the money would be released into my account in 45 minutes.  His name was Alex Cooper.  His phone number was  202-470-1411.  This man also had a very heavy accent so bad I had a hard time understanding him.  This is the second such call i have gotten in the past three weeks.  Always asking for money.  This time I had Joshua roberts explaing what he told me to my husband while I looked for me card.  Please don't let people like this real you in.  They need to be stopped as they are also doing this on line.
