I got the same fax, sounds dodgy, has anyone followed up??

So how quickly would eFax shut down their account if we all sent back several copies of the fax we received to the fax number listed? Just thinking out loud here.

Report the faxes to his email provider and e-fax, since those are the methods he is using to scam people.

GOT this today ,did someone actually ask if this was a scam ?

I received the same fax with the same number from Martin Hawke, esq. It is a scam to get your money. These people send this out to numerous numbers. The reason is people are looking to get something for nothing. Some people ar3e fools and need to get bit by the scammers.

I also got this fax about 5mins ago.

We got a fax (I'm sure this is s scam) with the following content:
"My name is Mr. Martin Hawke a business developer in my country Switzerland. My reason for contacting you is that I have an urgent need to invest some funds amounting to US$22.500.000.00 into a small business in your country for a client of mine. what he requested is an individual such as you, who will be willing to put this money to good use for a period of 6 years for a start. He is offering you these terms: 1. 15% will be paid to you as an administrator of the total fund to be managed. 2. The fund will be used by you as a foreign administrator to re profile the fund as a loan without any interest. That is, you do not pay any interest on the money, but you will give him 50% of all profits after tax that will accrue from the use of the fund. If these terms are agreeable to you, kindly let me know and I will provide you with other necessary information.

Also recieved this fax, although the fax number on it, has changed.

I got the exact same fax, I believe that this is undoubtably a scam how would you go about having it investigated...

This is a variation on the infamous Nigerian 419 scam (google it). Do not send these scammers any information. The only money there is, is yours!

I also received the same fax but with different fax number.  Agree seems like Nigerian scam

If people actually reply to that sort of e-mail, they really must be very thick.

you are right this fax seems to come from india becase if u chek the number on your fax its from india .

we got same fax on 12/02/009 on uor fax .must need to stop this big SCAM.......

I received the same fax from David Matela. Are these people so stupid to believe that intelligent will believe that 15% of US$12,500,00.00 will float down to them from heaven? Unfortunately, some desperate people will try almost anything.

Yep, got the same fax as well today 11-23-09.  David Matela, 12.5 million to invest The sad thing is, people actually do follow up on these types of faxes and get taken advantage of badly.  Thanks to everyone for raising awareness.

ps. little tip:  if you receive a fax or email similar to this, it is fairly easy to expose it as a scam.  Simply type a key word from the message, usually the persons name, into a google search and the results you get will tell you pretty quickly that the message is fraudulent.

We received 3 faxes from this "person" today.  All were listed as David Matela at 206-666-1741, using the sify.com domain, and all are without question a true SCAM.

These stupid fools will never give up trying to rip people off.  Tell everyone you know to ignore these scam requests.  Don't forget to report him to Efax AND to his email provider.
