I just got this email too. I am putting it in my spam box NOW! thank you guys for the advice

i recieved the same email as above. the sad thing is my husband is dying from canccer and when he read this, it got his hopes up that maybe we could do more medical help for him and it would help us. i told him it was probably a scam. but my husband wanted this so bad. but i had to tell him that it was a scam when i read this. is there any way to report this? and get this person put in jail?

Got an email from this person trying to rent a room. Sent a fake check and asked for the "extra money" to be returned to him. Asked for a phone number, and he gave me this.

yes. it is a scam. when you place ads to sell either use paypal as a payment or say in your ad you only except checks for the amount of purchase and will ship as soon as the check clears in 7 - 10 business days. Same with a money order. the way they get you is they send the check for an amount over the order, you cash at your bank which can't tell it's fake right away and they ask for a refund for the difference before the check clears. they never pick up the merchandise. it is most common on craigslist. i got this phone number in a message wanting to give me money in exchange for prayer. i'm sure they will want my bank #'s to deposit soon. i will pray for anyone that asks, but never never give out bank #'s.
