this number called claiming to be Tech Support for my computer

I received a call from this number but the funny thing was that the person on the other end was someone from a company with which we do business (this is a business phone) and they were calling from another city and state. They had no idea why 206-336-7191 was showing on my caller id.

thats hella werid they called knew my name where i lived said i was in peru needed money from my grnamda(whos my step grandma, know one knows that she is either) and they said my arm was broken and i needed money to get back to america

Received a call at 5:22 am.  When we answered the line went dead.  Tried to call the number back and got a "beeping" sound.

Tired of getting calls from this number and no one ever answers or leaves a message. I'm not late on any bills and never have been, what is going on?

@Lampshade - this site can't stop them, and there probably isn't much you can do to stop them either. Make sure your number is unlisted. Be careful about giving it out, even on major/well-known websites where you might shop (you'd be surprised who they sell their phone lists to). Most modern cellphones and home phones (if cordless, especially) have a Reject or Block Number feature. Learn how to use it and add the numbers to your Block list as they bother you.
Lastly, make sure you are on the National Do Not Call Registry. There are links on this site to the registry where you can register your phone number(s). IF someone still continues to call after you have told them you are on the Do Not Call Registry and have asked to have your number removed, then make sure to file a report on the site...every time!

ps. Please don't fall for any scams from callers who might claim to be law enforcement agents. That has been a big problem lately. Always check a number out here first before you do anything! Good luck!

how can i get them to stop calling me

These people have called me at least a dozen times about my purchase of Viagra/ Cialis, which I have never done. They want  me to give them my CC number to order more I have repeatedly aasked them not to call me again.

This number keeps calling me and telling me I have purchased Viagra/cialis and asking to purchase more with my CC number. They have called at least a dozen times after I have told them not to call me back.

Called me about Wells Fargo... Car suspension... what? 10 min ago.

Called me at 5am this morning. No message!

Got a call from this number 10/12 at 3:30 AM. Not happy.

Got a call today (9/16/11 ) @ 930 am, from 206.336.7231. Indian speaking voice, stating my pc had a VIRUS and was showing up at Microsoft. He wanted me to answer a lot of questions, which I refused. He then asked me to go to my pc and he would talk me through in trying to clear up the trouble. I told him to send me a letter from Microsoft explaining what he was talking about, I then said I don't offer any info to an unknown person. Sounds like a scam. I also get calls from a credit co.

Called me tonight, claims to be Windows Service Center, a well known scam. At least this time they spoke clear english.

Call me on my cell phone at work...wanted me to check for viruses with him, language barrier, could NOT under stand him.  So annoyed.

Calls every morning around 8:00am. No one is there when we answer.

Caller: "I need to speak with whomever is financially authorized."
Me: "Financially authorized in what capacity?"
Caller: "In general"
Me: "You need to be specific, sir, in order for me to route your call correctly."
Caller: "Never mind, I will call back later."

Apparenly, the caller thinks he will get a different answer next time?  Good luck with that!

Got a call from them about my computer downloading and sending virus. They can eliminate any viruses on my computer thru their network for the low low cost of $39. Definitely foreign and phishing scam.

Called me repeatedly leaving almost incoherent messages. Finally talked to a person live, obviously from overseas somewhere, claiming there were pending charges against me that needed to be cleared up by 1100 tomorrow. Told them to get F*!&ed and don't call me again.

I keep getting calls from this number. When I answer the line goes dead and you can't call them back. being on the National Do Not Call List I am ready to file a police report on this number.

I get call from this number, they telling : this is credit card- low interest rate....,every day i am geting this kind of calls.

Both from the same company saying this is "your pharmacy calling about your medication. We can refill that for you..." etc etc BLAH BLAH BLAH
I don't take the meds they described. I don't use online pharmacies. They never gave their name.
The accent was heavy and sounded like it was from India. This is definitely someone pinging a call off a skype number. In my case both left voicemails and the SAME 888 number to call back.
Why 2 calls? Hassle me once isn't enough?

USING MY REJECT FEATURE FOR THIS NUMBER, TOO!!

This number called me about reducing interest on my credit cards.  No name of the company given.  the recording said that needed to have one credit card in good standing, and owe over 3000 dollars on credit cards.  Press one for more details.  It sounded like I was being forwarded to an out of country number because it rang like a UK phone.  These calls keep coming on my cell phone during work hours.  I have a Do not call status on the phone.

this is from a illegal debt collector  - they call from that number and leave another number to call back.  He has an accent and talks very fast.  It is a boiler room operation.

They call at 1:00 a.m., 2:00 a.m., 3:00 a.m., 4:00 a.m., 5:00 a.m., ... Stop calling me! I answer no one responds, I let the answering machine get it and they leave no message! You are driving me crazy!!

6:30am!! Some illeterate inner city telemarketer calls grilling me about whether or not some girl lives here. When I asked where she was calling from and who she was and wtf she was doing on my phn at 6am, she hung up. The line won't take calls back. I figured it was a telemarketer.. from the looks of the site, it was a phish? Great.... so much for the Do Not Call List.
