Hello, I received the SAME exact email this afternoon for an item costing $350. I replied that I would not be sending the item without her "check" clearing and that I would prefer to be paid with a money order - they don't bounce.  I called the number and left a message...all of this was before I entered the telephone number into GOOGLE.  I'm not a very trusting person, I guess today, that was in my favor.  So far, I don't have any phone calls from Ms. Bama.

I just recieved an instant message from a so called shopper on golsn.com and the phone number was the same area code and first three digits the last four were completely different.  But the guy said he would like to buy my computer/scanner/printer asap and left the phone number for me to call and an email it is a hotmail email address.  I live in KY and I looked up the area code it is washington area code so I am getting very skeptical thinking this may be a scam trying to happen as well.  I called the number and someone named mike had a voice message there and I left a message with my home phone number but nobody has called back as of yet.  Now I know by coming here to not take paypal payments and local pickup only.  Thanks for the warnings.

I just now got the same exact e-mail from Tella Bama AKA Sheila Morrison  looking to buy my Engagement Ring and Wedding Band off Craigslist. My first clue that this might be a scam was the "fresno" Calif. return address since I live in the Raleigh NC. area but I sent a few extra pics anyway as they requested. Immediately, and I really do mean "IMMEDIATELY" I did receive the above mentioned response from them to "stop all other action on the item, forward my name, address etc. etc. etc."

That's when the smell of a scam became a stench and I decided to check out their phone number they provided and landed on this page.

Some people are really lame in trying to pull a stunt like this but the sad part is that someone is likely to fall for it and get burned. These thieves would not be up to there shenanigans if it didn't work.
Thankfully there are sites like this one to at least 'help' keep us safe.  THANK YOU SITE!!!!

4th email from this Tella Bama (Sheila Morrison) Test Below.

I am sending an overpayment check down to you,the remaining amount  will take of the shipping charges of my shipping company, this shipping charges involves "all the remaining  costs  of all goods i am shipping through them."I am sending  the check next week and you will receive the check under 24 hours as at the time i dispatch the check.

My Response: I will exchange for Cash Only - no checks and only face-to-face.  I conduct all my Craig's list business that way.  When can you meet me at the South Center Mall?

This phone number was on an email I was sent from a Tella Bama on Sheila's email wanting to purchase my expensive watch off Craigs List -
She gave the same info wanting Name, Address, Phone to UPS a payment. Told her I ONLY deal in CASH, if they wanted to send money Western Union but I was only interested in dealing with local buyers. Never got another email.

Thanks to Craig's List for Educating and warning us about these kinds of people. It is so unfortunate this goes on.

I got the same thing from "her" Says her name is sheila and want to buy my ring off craigs list. Funny thing is she has contacted me before on another ring.....and when I told her that she had already tried to pull this scam on me and I wouldn't fall for it she emailed me back and said "OK". Whatever that means and now she had disapeared again. SCAM!!!

I got an e-mail from someone claiming to want to purchase a ring from me off of craigslist. She wanted me to send her my name, address, phone number etc. so she could send me the payment via UPS. The writing was in terrible English. Smells like a scam to me. This was the phone number on the e-mail.
