I had a reply to an ad i had on kijiji and craiglist. i was selling my car and the name on the email was Scott Varley. he couldn't give me his number because he lost his hearing in a car accident apparently. When in insisted i have a contact, he gave me the number 206-350-1860 as his agents number. He wanted pay pal details and everything. sounds very similar to these other issues. I think that they have figured out a way to get items through paypal without actually paying in the end because they offer the money up front.

I am living here in utah and i got Jackie Brockman emailing me about an item she wanted to buy and she asked for the same things as she did to you... She said she cant call me because her hearing is gone. And she keeps asking for paypal info. Sounds fishy to me.

I think that it is a scam. They wanted something that I was selling online through a local classified ad website. They said that they would pay shipping and extra on top of what I wanted for the item and all I need to do was give them my paypal info. I said no and that they could come meet me and give me cash for it. The woman that emailed me back was named Jackie Brockman and she said that she was currently out of the state and in Seattle for a job. The number she gave me to call was this number so I looked it up and of course to my supplication  its sounding more and more like a scam.

I have a item up for sale on a local classified ads. This person said they wanted my item but was "out of state" so I need to give them my paypal information so they could transfer the money. This is the number that came along with the email. I didn't trust it and wrote them back stating that if they wanted the item they could come get it and pay cash for it.

Got emails from someone with very poor English concerning my rental house.  I told "her" to call me to discuss house.  She sent me more emails.  I asked "her" if she's from Nigeria.  Her next email said she comes from Seattle and wants to arrange furniture for the house.  Very strange email.  this time she gave me her phone number -- guess what number it is?  206-350-1860.  What's going on?  I'm of course suspicious from the other emails -- now what?  What is this scam?  Any ideas?

I plan on continuing to write -- see what "she" really wants-- probably my name address, DOB, etc.

I received the following email from a so called "Hiring Manager" named Mark Smith, who claims to be from the Starbucks Coffee Company and reachable at 206-350-1860.  The email address "Mr. Smith" used was starbucksjobs@aol.com. They were allegedly seeking 'Accounts Receivable Officers' to work from home.  As was the case with Donald, they wanted my name, address, and home/cell-phone numbers asap. I called 206-350-1860 out of curiosity and it went straight to voice-mail without identifying any specific company or corporation. I was suspicious so I Googled the Starbucks Coffee Company, called their headquarters and discovered that this email was a total scam. Starbucks has received numerous complaints about this misrepresentation of them. Take a look at the following email that the con-artists sent to me; If you got one like this, it's not legitimate, they are fishing for your personal information:

I saw this number on an email I received stating they hire Mystery Shoppers part time.  They ask for all of your contact information, name, address, cell phone, occupation and don't even put a company name on the email. Probably selling information- lists.
