Caller claimed my computer was generating error messages on their server. Claimed to be from Road Runner.
I asked specifically which error codes they were getting... and from which of my accounts. Got no response.

I hung up and called back...no answer.

Definitely a scam of some sort.

It's a scam. I got a call also, saying they were from Verizon to fix my email error problems. Ironically Verizon did have email problems at the time so I let them remote access my laptop through Go To Assist which it turns out a lot of companies use. I don't have anything important stored in my laptop but I'm changing passwords on everything now. Here's the catch though. If you let them access your pc they'll find problems and tell you to take it to a retail tech at a cost of $100-150. I told him no and he got very irritated. When I rebooted my laptop later nothing would work right. I had to call HP tech support and after paying them $50. they remote accessed and cleaned out my laptop and got everything going again. In the longrun it needed some tech tweeking anyway but I'm usually on top of these cyber scams and feel like an idiot now. Taught me a lesson. The caller ID even said Ver Temp Tech. I got in touch with Verizon and they have a memo about scam companies doing exactly this.

I got a call from this number; caller had a strong accent; I want to say Indian. Said he was from MSN and that my email account had lots of errors and was creating problems with the server. He wanted to know what the errors were. Told him I had no errors showing online and he wanted me to get on the computer and he would tell me how to look them up. Told him no and hung up on him

Lady called from Premium Tech Support.
She said computer is generating errors. She wanted me to look at log files and I am sure she was phishing for information.

When asked what customer she is trying to reach, she mentioned the name "Jerry Chamblis".

Same thing with a guy who called yesterday.

Caller called, let phone ring twice then hung up. Re-called approx 3 minutes later. Man did not speak clear English, stated that he was calling re: my yahoo account and that it was important to fix the error to protect my credit/debit card. I asked for a supervisor and was eventually connected to someone else who also did not speak clear English who stated what my yahoo account was causing errors in their servers. He was instructing me to run a program on my computer ( probably to give him remote access). I gave him my thoughts and he starting getting upset "whoa whoa whoa" he said (very professional for a customer care rep from yahoo) I told him not to call again and hung up. When I called the number back it went right to a voicemail where the outgoing message was a female heavily accented voice.
