My ID read Seatle, WA.  I called back & it answered in the middle of a recording stating if you'd like to be removed & placed on their DNC list, to Press 1.  So, I did.  Said it should take upto 72 hours to be removed.  Hope it works.

206-397-1902 call from robot caller, scam, thieves, low lifes! Why dont the authorities do the job that we pay them to? These are CRIMINALS who are STEALING old peoples money every day! If any person who reads this PLEASE contact a politicia, police officer, or ANYBODY that you might know, who still does the job that they are PAID to do from our hard earned wages/taxes! Also, like me, report this to the FCC!  Thank You, otherwise it will never end!

I also get these calls ALL the time! I have found out that if you contact a lawyer and or do it yourself, you can begin suing these criminal callers and make quite a bit of money doing it! It sure is a much better way to create revenue than those (Work at home scams) that also should be cracked down upon by our do nothing (Do not call registry, Government, FCC) and such! The rewards are there, just start suing them! The only thing that matters to these people is money. When we take from them more than they steal from us, they will stop! There are web sites that will tell you how to go about doing this at no cost to you! It does work! Nothing else seems to stop them!

Correct! Dont look to that so called Government of ours to help! All they care about is lining thier own pockets, they are no better than the criminal telemarketers! The Police are now only an extension of the "Tax Departmant", they only write tickets to create revenue! They no longer go after criminals that we hired them to stop. No profit in that! You have to stand up for yourself, the Gov. has abandoned you! Take whatever action you deem neccessary! Like our wonderful leaders maybe we should even begin thinking PRE-EMPTIVE STRIKE! How intelligent does THAT sound! The Idiots and Criminals are running this country today, or havent you noticed?

You all sound so negative! Im sure some one cares enough to stop the "crimnals in the phone lines". Have you tried contacting your politcal leaders? It is very easy to send messages to them telling them of your concerns and such. Also, do make sure you file complaints with the FCC, if they get a whole bunch they might become more aggressive.  Good Luck

Got the "Hello, this is Heather.  I'm calling about your credit account..." robocall, with offer to reduce interest to 6%, press 1 to talk with a representative.  I hung up and reported to FTC.  CID indicated the call was from "CREDIT SERVICES", but possibly spoofed.

We need legislation and "socially responsible" mechanisms in place to track down sources such as this.  I say "socially responsible" as a catch-all, don't want to start a debate - but I'm aware that crafting proper legislation and call tracing mechanisms is bound to be complex and touchy (privacy rights, legitimate business needs, etc.), and deserves serious attention.

This JUST happened, and I was smart enough to go to my computer and look it up before I went forward with the woman. I was curious to see what they wanted so I went forward with the live person after the recorded message from "heather". The live person was a woman with a very heavy eastern european accent. She went through the whole sales pitch with me, and I continually questioned which company she was calling from and she only said Visa. She said that if I had APRs higher than 10% than she could help me get them lowered to between 3-6%. Well, obviously that is too good to be true, so I egged her on a bit more. She asked me which cards I had higher interest rates on, and I asked her to tell ME which cards I had higher rates on. She said Bank of America, Capitol One, and HSBC, of which I had none. I then asked her if she knew who it was she was speaking with. She had to put me on hold, and told me my husbands first name, after having to consult with someone or maybe look it up on a calling program. I told her I'd like to get back to her on this offer when my husband gets home, and she began to get ANGRY! That I had spent 10 minutes on the phone with HER, wasting HER valuable time. It was kind of hilarious. I hope she or someone DOES call back to speak with my husband...it will be fun to mess with them again.

Same deal as many of the rest, a robocall from "credit card services"  (NO bank name or even whether it was MC, VISA, Discover, etc.) assuring me that there was "nothing wrong with your account..." but they could lower my interest rate. YEAH RIGHT!!!

Thieving scum.

Call came from British Columbia (Canada) to Kansas by way of VOIP (Voice-Over protocol) from a computer by way of Telecom Pacific. Area code is for Washington.

Call accidentally answered, recorded voice offered to lower credit card rate and couldn't go further because the wife hung up.

Didn't answer but did report them to the Do Not Call list website. Even if you are not on the list, you can report it because it is a recording.

The only reason I answered this call is because the caller ID showed "EXEC SUITE 2" and I thought it was perhaps a legitimate business call. I own a business operated from my home, but do not use this home number as my business line. A recording offered to lower my interest rates on no specific account. Angry that I was duped by the caller ID, I pressed "1" and told them I don't have any credit cards. The lady said it was a wrong number (Yeah, right!) and hung up.

Rec'd a call offering to lower my credit card interest. I am on the do not call registry so I pushed one to speak with a live operator.  He could barely speak English.  Seriously believe this is a scam to get your credit card info.  Am reporting it to the Do not call registry.  Encourage all that participate to do the same.  Robo calls are against the law

I'm on the Do Not Call list, why are these calls coming in?  I don't want these calls.  What do we have to do to get these calls stopped?  Or what
is the use of the Do Not Call list?  I googled it and it is a company that
wants to bother people claiming to help reduce your interest on your credit card.  I pay mine off at the time i get my statement.

They called about lowering interest rates and quoted some high balance. I asked which card, Chase?  they said yes, but I did not offer a credit card number.  They said  I had some huge balance, which I didn't.  They then said they would call back

Yes, JCPenny does solicit magazines. They offer a whole bunch of magazines practically free for a year, charged to your JCP card, and then a year later, you start getting all sorts of bills for continuing the magazines. I think they send an easy to miss postcard saying that they will just renew everything unless you contact them, and then you get billed.
My mother went through this. It did all start with JCPenny.
