Scam
Hot a call from this number....middle eastern accent said my computer was at risk of a major "hacker". I told him I don't even own a windows computer and he told me I was wrong and that I was logged on last night? I told him to give some kind of proof (IP address, product key, serial number...) he told me to turn on my computer and he would help me. I explained to him my MacBook doesn't run on windows. He told me to F**k off and hung up. (I don't own a MacBook or any apple products. I just wanted to screw with this scammer.)

Indian called and said my computer has an online infection and it is destroying my computer as we speak.  I asked what it would cost me for his help and he said nothing.  I asked if he had an error no. so I could take my computer to the computer doctor in my home town and he immediately replied, "tell your computer dr. to f_ _ _ you while you wait.

Oh my.  I was not expecting that.

Guy called this morning saying he was from Windows and my pc was at risk every time I went online.  All I had to do was turn it on and he would "guide" me step by step to "fix" the problem.  Really?

He just called me with the same line.  I told him I did not trust him.  I though he was a con man.  He then used every vile word not in the dictionary.  He said I was a F.... old man.  I responded by telling him I was a lot smarter than he is thus he cannot con me.  The term you used  "Hysterical Indian -accent guy is very accurate."   He went ballistic.

Man with heavy accent called twice to tell me that my computer was infected by a large number of viruses. He said
that he was with Windows. I told  him that I was not interested. He then told me that if I did not accept the program, he
would shut my computer down and that I would not be able to use it. I told him that I was not interested and that I was hanging up.  I hung up and shut my computer off.  Guess what? I later turned it on and it worked just fine.

Just had another phone call from the computer scammers.
This one came in as "unknown caller" no number, but I
had to answer because I was expecting a call from my
friend in Europe who registers as unknown caller.
It sounded like a phone bank, lots of voices, and I
recognized the b*****d's voice.  Told him to stop calling
and hung up.  Now it's twice in one day!  He gave his name --
Shane Watson -- with an Indian accent, same name used
in a post above.  They're so stupid, and they just don't give up!

I get calls 3 or 4 times a day from this number. I don't ever pick up, so I can't contribute details, but they finally got my attention. It is my landline and it's on the Do Not Call registry.

We've been getting calls supposedly from Microsoft
warning that our computer will crash and they will tell
us how to fix it. I even had a very scary Skype call.
shouting at me.  They call every morning and wake us
up.  They call from different numbers.  My husband
shouted at one (heavily accented) man and called
him a fraud.  We don't answer any more, but they
keep calling.  This is the number they used this AM.

The Do-Not-Call list doesn't work.  Someone, please
do something!

Received call from 206-424-8912 from Seattle WA 5 hours ago from a man with a heavy Indian/Pakastanian accent claiming that my computer had been taken over by hackers and infected very bad and that he was a Microsoft Technician. He knew my name and that I had Comcast. He wanted me to turn on my computer to fix the problem.I told him I ran a full Antivirus scan last night along with MalwareBytes,SuperAntiSpyware and SpybotSearch&Destroy, was using ZoneAlarm Firewall and SpyShelter to block Keyloggers and that my computer was clean. He told me my computer would Lock up if they didn't fix it and for me to turn it on and they would fix the problem.I ask if it would cost to fix it and he said yes.I said I would call back in and hour.He told me to call back at 206-424-8913 and ask for Shane Watson. Also mentioned something about Pegasus when I ask who they were.Told him why would Windows be calling me because I am still on Win XP which is no longer supported by Microsoft but will be updating later to Win 7 ...I called Comcast Security and they told me not to call back and took all of my info.I thought I would Google this number and found your replies.THANKS

Got the same scam today. Let them talk for awhile. First flag was I asked for a call back number and they wouldn't provide it. They gave me my machine's CLSID and I did a quick search and found the scam details: http://www.welivesecurity.com/2011/07/19/support-desk-scams-clsid-not-unique/. Told them they were scammers and hung up. Filed a complaint with the WA AG but I would bet the number is spoofed and they are actually calling from overseas.
Here is what can happen if you go the whole way with these crooks: http://www.wired.co.uk/news/archive/2013-04/11/malwarebytes

Got a call from an Indian accented man who said he was from the Windows Technical Section and that my computer was infested and that he had called to help me clear up the problem.  I must have had a brain freeze because I did everything he said and he ended up taking over my computer.  Messages started showing up on my screen telling me of all these viruses my computer had. All the while, he's talking to me about my problems.  Finally, the screen showed the cost of an anti-virus program for 1, 2, and 3 years.  He kept asking me which one I wanted to buy.  When I said that I wanted to buy none of them, he told me that I wouldn't be able to use my computer anymore.  I finally hung up, but when I subsequently went back to my computer, I couldn't get into it because he had put a password on it.  I had to take the computer to a computer repair shop where it cost me $100 to have the password removed.  Bottom line:  Hang up when you get a call from this number!

Got this same call from a strongly accented Indian woman who told me my computer was infected with a bunch of viruses.  I simply said, "This is a scam" and hung up.  To my knowledge, there is no way she could know what is on my computer and I certainly wasn't buying anything nor letting her take control of my computer to check it!

I just received a call from 206-424-8912 a few minutes ago. The guy said he was calling from Windows and that my computer was sending error messages. I hung up before he could say anything else. I have received these kind of calls before and I asked a tech about them and he told me just to hang up. Because Microsoft or Windows (Microsoft) will never call you on anything like that.
