I was contacted by David Martin Chief Investigation Officer of the IRS, Criminal Division.  He said a warrant was issued against me and that I was under Federal Investigation.  When I called him back at this number, I got a voicemail of Mark Watson of the Internal Revenue Service.  He had a heavy foreign accent and you could heard lots of noise in the background. as if he was calling from a telemarketing office.  When I did a search of the number, the information came back as unknown.

Prank Call
Got two messages on my work phone number on two different days.  After I received the call I was a bit disturbed and called them and stated you may have a wrong person in the message.  The second call went to my voicemail once more as I was in my meeting.  I got out of my meeting and called my father who works for the FEDs and he stated this is a SCAM.  He advised me do not give any information and take their info and report back.

I have not got any further calls, and when I do I will be contacting authroities and advising this scam artist what I am doing.

ALERT - EXTORTION SCAM - ALERT
DEA Warns Public of Extortion Scam by
DEA Special Agent Impersonators
The Drug Enforcement Administration is warning the public about criminals posing as DEA special agents or other law enforcement personnel as part of an international extortion scheme.

The criminals call the victims (who in most cases previously purchased drugs over the lnternet or by telephone) and identify themselves as DEA agents or law enforcement officials from other agencies.  The impersonators inform their victims that purchasing drugs over the lnternet or by telephone is illegal, and that enforcement action will be taken against them unless they pay a fine.  In most cases, the impersonators instruct their victims to pay the "fine" via wire transfer to a designated location, usually overseas.  If victims refuse to send money, the impersonators often threaten to arrest them or search their property.  Some victims who purchased their drugs using a credit card also reported fraudulent use of their credit cards.

Impersonating a federal agent is a violation of federal law.  The public should be aware that no DEA agent will ever contact members of the public by telephone to demand money or any other form of payment.

The DEA reminds the public to use caution when purchasing controlled substance pharmaceuticals by telephone or through the Internet.  It is illegal to purchase controlled substance pharmaceuticals online or by telephone unless very stringent requirements are met.  And, all pharmacies that dispense controlled substance pharmaceuticals by means of the lnternet must be registered with DEA.  By ordering any pharmaceutical medications online or by telephone from unknown entities, members of the public risk receiving unsafe, counterfeit, and/or ineffective drugs from criminals who operate outside the law.  In addition, personal and financial information could be compromised.

Anyone receiving a telephone call from a person purporting to be a DEA special agent or other law enforcement official seeking money should refuse the demand and report the threat.

Received the same call today, returned the call to get the same message as referenced above.  Left a message stating I would like a call back.  The person asked me for my name which I refused to give him stating that he originally called me and should know who he called. He then stated he was looking for "so and so" (i forget the name he asked for). I told him he had the wrong number, and he hung up.

Got several messages to call this number early last month. Caller claimed to be special agent Frank Thomas from the DEA. When I finally got in touch with him, he claimed I would be arrested and fined on drug charges (no specifics). I told him I don't do drugs. He became somewhat threatening, claiming he has an informant who named me in a case and that the only way to save my hide was to wire him money. I told him I have no money so come and get me.  Still waiting.  In the meantime, I have called the actual DEA and the FTC. This is a scam, do not fall for it!   And thanks Google for helping to expose this stuff.

Received a call from a foreign man saying he was a "special agent"   , since I went thru a very stressful time with this same thing last year and almost wired money before friends stopped me,    I did not even give him time to finish his line......I told him to go get a real job and quit trying to scam people!

Call from this number looking for someone else, said it was DEA . My wife told him he had the wrong number. I called the number and it went to a voicemail answering as the DEA. 2 months ago got same kind of calls from a NY Number supposedly DEA; Commanding Officer Gibbs and LT. Lynn Taylor. Threatened me with arrest and search warrants. I talked to the real DEA and found out they are in the Dominican Republic and this has been happening a lot. Be careful! Do not panic or send them any money. Real DEA said they would never call anyone to warn them of an arrest.

Got a call from this number and his voice mail does not sound legit at all-doesn't even ring and goes directly to his voice mail claiming all agents are busy. He has a very bad lisp and is very cocky. Told him that I will forward a packet over to my lawyer when I receive it from him. Hoping that's the end of him.

Someone posing as Agent Fran Thomas called today and said that there was a warrant for my arrest for the purchase of online medication several years ago. He could help by recommending that I was a law-abiding citizen (he had done a background check) and that I could avoid problems by sending 2400. for Johanni Gomez, Bronx, NW via Western Union.
I called the local DEA office in Seattle and was assured that this was not a legitimate call. Be careful!

I just got a call from Officer Frank Davis at the DEA stating that I have a warrant out for my arrest and if I cooperate fully I would have 3 choices, 1 year of house arrest, A 3 month drug rehab program, or a fine of $1300.00. If I did not comply I would immediately be arrested and extradited to seattle to face 3 years in Federal prison. I told him that I have to contact my attorney and I will call him back... he hung up. I then went to the DEA website where they have this listed as a scam with an 800 number to report such incidents. Make sure you follow through so this clown will have a run in with the actual DEA who frown upon impersonating a Federal Agent

I had a missed call from 206-436-4992. When I called back he said he was from the DEA and that there was an ongoing investigation.  When he asked for my name and I said that he had called me so he should have it, he said to hold while he got the records and then he never came back.  Obviously scam looking for idiots who would give them personal information.   Unbelievable.  I would have like to see how far he was going to go in asking for information.

I got a call from the DEA today, it was the same scam, told me I could choose between house arrest for a year, 30 days in rehab, or a fine. He told me I would be arrested the next day and that 37 people had already been arrested.  I told him I had no money and he said that I should borrow it but not tell anyone what for and that is when I realized what was going on.!!

I got a call from this number saying he was DEA. I researched the number on the net and found that the number is registered to YMAX COMMUNICATIONS CORP.  in washington state. Micheal Davis said that I had a warrant out for my arrest for buying diet pills 16 years ago over the internet. He said that I was going to be picked up and processed and finger printed down at superior court and then released. He told me that the fine would be 1000 to 10000 and he would call me back to get it. I told him I couldn't afford any fine. I reported this man and the number to the FTC and they are investigating it.
