They called me asking me if I used microsoft xp. If I was they wanted me to go into my computer so they can help me upgrade my security now that windows isn't supporting xp. I told them I had to leave but if they gave me there phone number I would call them back when I have a moment. Instead I'm using that moment to warn anyone who visits this site to give them nothing. I feel for the people that fall for this.

Woman with thick Indian accent ran the Tech Support Scam on my 88 yr. old mother. She did everything they said but hung up when they wanted money. Within several hours, her computer was completely dead so they must have wiped everything, including Windows.

I just got a call, allegedly from 206-456-0661.  It was some man with a thick foreign accent.  He asked for me by my last name.  Claimed I had "DNS Changer" malware on my computer.  Actually hung up on me when I didn't immediately fall for his scam.

11 September 2013
T-Mobile Customer Relations
P.O. Box 37380
Albuquerque, NM 87176-7380

To T Mobile:
On 10 September 2013 from 18:02 until 19:18 I received at least 24 criminal, unwanted, threatening, and harassing telephone calls on my T Mobile phone +++++++++ Over the past 6 months I have received roughly 50 similar calls, but never 24 of them in 80 minutes. The other 50 calls have come at all times of the day and night, including repeatedly waking my family in the middle of the night. I now have to keep my phone turned off at night because of these harassing calls.  I repeatedly ask these callers to not call me and tell them that I am on the National ?Do not call? list, and did so again on at least 10 of these calls last night. I suspect that they come from spoofed numbers which are giving false numbers to my caller ID. The purpose of these calls is to trick me into giving the personal information by allowing them to access to my computer either for the purpose of them misusing my computer, possibly to steal my financial information to steal from me, or possibly to get access to sensitive information that I may have as a ???????????????????? worker. I suspect that the reason that they kept calling back over and over this time, was that I may have upset them by keeping them on hold for a long time and giving them the initial impression that I was going to give them access to my computer when I had no intention of actually doing so. While they were unsuccessful in harming me or the ????????????? in this attack, they sound like they call person after person until they are successful. They would not continue to do this unless some of the people that they call do fall for their ruse. Stopping them from continuing to do this will prevent significant theft or significant espionage, possibly both.

All of these calls are from males and females with what sounds like Indian accents (last night was always the same male), who tell me that they are calling from Microsoft because there is a problem with my computer and they want to help me fix it. They ask me to go to my computer. I do not know what they will ask next because I never let them get further than that. This time my caller Id said these calls came from 14254069022 (7 calls), 19712179508 (5 calls), 19712179514 (5 calls), 12063971127 (4 calls), 19712179518 (3 calls).

On prior occasions, they have called from 10999100119, 109999100119, 10234567890, 15126104761, 12064560661, 0000000000, 1284678, 284678 and others.

I previously filed a complaint to the Honolulu police (cannot recall complaint number), and did so again on 10 September, with HPD complaint report number ????????????????????

T Mobile needs to work with The Honolulu police and any other agency that can investigate this matter (perhaps FBI, national security agencies, and/or Interpol) to punish these criminals and prevent them from harming and harassing others. While I have no way to determine where the calls are actually originating from, T Mobile have the technology to do so.  Calling after being not to call, calling from spoofed numbers which gives me no way to identify them or call them to demand that they stop calling, and attempting to gain access to my computer and personal information under false pretenses, are all illegal acts.
I have now added the new numbers to my call blocking list, but since they keep calling from different numbers (or are spoofing different caller IDs), I expect that these calls will continue.

I received a call from the same number.  He told me his name was Jack and somebody was trying to hack into my computer.  I asked if I could call him back and he gave me this number: 559-529-5300.  He asked me my name and I said, "If you know that somebody is trying to hack into my computer, why don't you know my name."  He hung up.  He wanted me to go to my computer and enter stuff.  I think he wanted to get access to the information on my computer.  It's a scam.

A notification from the Tango app on my cellphone just popped up stating that Dominic Stout has just joined Tango and I should say hi.  The number connected to the account is the very same one all these complaints are about.  I have the phone number on my carrier's block list so they obviously called me at some point, too and I just don't remember.  If anyone else had Tango on their phone, add Dominic to your contacts and say hi-over and over again to see how he likes being harassed.

These scammers are overseas and beyond our legal jurisdiction for the moment. Get your mom's bank to claw money back and replace the account, criminals have it and will charge again. Try complaining to  http://www.ic3.gov/complaint/default.aspx
If the PC has been used to access online accounts after the remote access, use a clean PC to change passwords and check the profiles on those accounts. Verify that contact email addresses on those accounts have not been changed. Do not delay, this is now a race to regain control of those accounts if they've been compromised. If you cannot log in, then those accounts have been compromised and you must call for help to regain control of those accounts. If your mom stores passwords on her PC, then go and change every one of those passwords pronto with a clean PC.
Get off the web and park the PC because any installed malware may download more malware. Take system discs and the PC to a local IT shop, tell them what happened, ask them to reformat the drive and re-install the OS, and ask if they can rewrite the Master Boot Record in case the MBR has been rooted. Reformat will destroy all info on the drive. If you do not have backups of data, you can try saving data but there is some small chance malware can hide among the data that you will be saving.

HELP!!! they scammed my mom and she gave them money and they logged in to her computer and now it is a mess. she is 78 and very sweet and of course knows now it was wrong but at the time was taken complete advantage of. they called me today and when i said i was going to call the cops and demanded her money back and to stop calling her they told me to f-off and hung up on me. i have called countless numbers back from where they call from and of course they are out of service. at this point the money is a wash but i want them to stop harassing my mom and caller at all times intimidating her. i have no idea how to proceed as how do i make a complaint against a company i cannot even reach? any input or suggestions at this point would be greatly appreciated.

I received a call at 6:15 am in the morning and not being familiar with the number, I let my answering machine pick up the call. No one left a message. I then googled the number and saw that others have had a very bad experience with it. I have *78 on my phone and I added this number to it . It is now blocked and cannot call me again. I suggest that you call your phone company and have *78 added to your service, then you too can get the annoying numbers blocked and unable to call you.

Heavy accent Indian woman called waking me up at 7:30 am! Wanted to fix an issue/ error with my computer. Would not answer my questions (such as why are you calling at 7:30 am!?). Wanted me to get on my computer even though I explained I was not having issues with my computer. Would not put a supervisor on the phone after one was requested. She had asked for my grandmother - trying to scam her?

Got the call from the Indian accent guy today, from Techmart. I kept interrupting him by saying Really and he kept stopping and saying yes ma'am.  I finally told him that I don't have a f***ing computer problem.  He said, I'm sorry I don't understand what you are saying.  I said, I don't have a f***ing computer problem, I have a f***ing con man problem on the other end of this phone.  That he apparently understood.

My mobile number is on the Federal DNC list (I confirmed this today as well) ...this scam company, or however one wishes to refer to them, rang the first time (with 5 '0's attached to the end of the caller I.D.
Fortunately I searched and learned who/what they were before answering the 2nd time (only to confirm that they are still attempting the same crimes).  Oh, yes they are!  The boiler room operation may not be India, or they may be using  more than one to attempt to steal your identity ... the person I talked with appeared to have more of an East Asian accent (possibly CN?)  He specifically said that he was calling from "Microsoft" and proceeded to say that they were "monitoring my IP address."  I think the guy I had was a bit green or not very comfortable with English, and didn't last long before he hung up on me when I mentioned my Mac.

I reported the call to the FTC, National Do Not Call Registry by calling the complaint hotline at 888-382-1222 or you can go to http://www.ftc.gov/opa/2008/04/dncfyi.shtm
I urge all to do this with these guys!
