I received a call from this same company today.  The foreigner was very adamant that my computer was going to crash within seconds,....but here it is.....still working!  I looked them up online....no listing for that number but I know it's from the Seattle area.  Wonder what Bill Gates would say to a call like this???  DO NOT give these scammers any info......they are just thieves of your identity.  My computer is very well protected against viruses, malware, spyware, etc.  I may have been born in the last century, but I'm certainly no fool!!!  :-)

Prank Call
I got a simular call... Their premise was that my PC was spewing out SPAM, and they needed to help me get it fixed.

They identified themselves as "Get Easy Tech" a "Service Provider for Windows." Their callerId on my cellphone was 91-777. They gave me (206) 462-5444 as a call back number, when I requested it 'in case we got disconnected.'

I played along for awhile, and they guided me into the Windows event viewer and stated the warnings there (it is normal for every PC to have several errors & warnings in the application log) indicate a "malicious program."

After that, they sent me to a website to establish a remote control session with my PC. I knew if I continued to play along, they would be installing malware on my PC!

At that point, I hung up on them. But in a couple minutes later they called me back! I told them I knew they were malicious/criminal persons, that no viruses were on my PC, and that they planned to remotely install a virus. I then hung up again. And they've not called back.

Received a call today...the caller was very persistent, VERY heavy foreign accent, claiming tohave an office in Seattle, WA, but could not connect me t someone who spoke clearer English.  Managed to get off the phone after about 7 min.  Called my son asking what the tought, and he said absolutely do not give them access to my computer.  They have not yet called me back, and I will NOT call them back even though they did give me the phone number and a name.  The technician who was supposed to talk to me after she "Anna" got all the rest of the connection ready was Sam Martin.

What I was able to glean from the converation is they refer to themselves as Windows authorized technicians, and that there were multiple viruses on my computer, and by allowing them access to the computer, they could tell me when I got such viruses, where from, and the names of the viruses.  Thn I could decide if I wanted to pay the 49.95 for the rest of my life free access for my computer an anyone else who uses the same connection would be free for the same services.  ...Sounds VERY FISHY to me !!!!!!

They called my senior citizen mother this morning, telling her they are a sub-contractee for Windows Operating system, and that her system was infected--that they could see that see downloaded malicious files for questionable websites. The caller sounded like he was from India perhaps, and she had a hard time unde4rstanding him, so asked to speak with someone else. A woman then it on the phone, who had an accent, but less pronounced, and told my mom the same thing. My mom asked for their phone number (she doesn't have caller I.D.), and they finally gave it to her. She then told them that I am her tech-support provider and she wanted to check with me about it.

I then called them, and after about 10 rings (the first ring sounded distant, then switched to a more local-sounding ring), they answered saying "Get Easy Tech" in a very, very think accent. I explained why I was calling--that I wanted to verify who they are and why they were calling my mom. He gave me the same schpeil.saying her computer is infected. I repeatedly asked how they could possibly know this, and was finally told some B.S. about Windows Operating System "told them it was infected", and that they are sub-contracts for W. O.S. because W.O.S. is too busy to contact customers themselves.

I asked for their website address, and was told it's GetEasyTech.co.uk, and further told that they are a UK company however they "have a Seattle office". I told them to take her number off their call list, and that if they call her again, that I had instructed her to record the call. I then called my mom and suggested she report the call to the AZ. Attorney General, which she said she would do.

Preying on anyone, much less senior citizens, should not be tolerated.
