I keep getting these calls that are automated for dental insurance all the time.

Admittedly calling out on the Seinfeld act stealing was funny. That being said- "morons" "huevos"...its sad (sic). I thought your display name seemed like an oxymoron, apparently I was correct at least in your case. You aren't Dennis Leary or Miller, just like they aren't Jerry Seinfeld buddy.

I don't ever answer my phone. After they hang up, I go to my computer and google the number then delete it. My phone only can take 20 blocks so that is what I do to screen my calls. My family and friends call my cell number.

Keeps calling on my company provided cell phone, no messages left. I wish they would stop!

Automated telemarketer selling dental insurance.

I never pick numbers i do not recognize.  I hook up to fax machine.  All scammers.

Robo call for dental insurance.

I receive calls from this number several times a day stating that they are a debt collector. I do not have any outstanding debts and want this harassment to stop.

I already have Dental Insurance. Dumbass!

just called the number back, got a recording (trying to sell me dental insurance), but it did give me an option to press '9' to be taken off of the call list. I pressed 9. Only time will tell if that actually did anything

After five months, there's no addition to the post reporting any success. That's because those tones usually aren't effective, any more.

Telemarketers got wise to SIT tones a long time ago. That's why things like TeleZapper pretty much vanished. Telemarketers' machines mostly ignore the tones, now.

Unfortunately, the real people who call you can't ignore the tones. Or, like them.

Before you waste your time/money on investigators, check the law. Are you sure it covers calls to businesses?

I am also a Law Firm, and receive multiple calls/day from advertisers and robocallers costing us at least an hour of time every day.  I plan to have my investigator find the owners of these phone numbers, and after multiple documented (caller ID) phone calls, we will send them an invoice.  If they do not reply, we'll file a small claim, receive a judgment, and file on their business credit; this should get some attention.  Same goes for fax machines and any other unsolicited calls.  I expect we will not have to request to be placed on any "do not call" list, the industry will make their own, and we'll be at the top!

Called; left no message. Am on DNC list, but doesn't seem to make much difference to robocallers in Oregon and Washington.

If you pick up the call or press anything they tell you to, then their system knows 1) your phone number is valid, 2) you pick up calls from numbers you don't recognize and 3) you listen to their prompts and obey them.

If you don't recognize a phone number, don't pick up.  If you do and it's a telemarketer, add the number to a Contact called Telemarketer1 and assign that number to one of the phone number slots available.  Assign a destinctive ringtone to this Contact and don't pick up again.  As you get calls from more telemarketers, keep assigning the new phone numbers to this growing list that you keep on your phone.  For bonus points, assign a silent ringtone to these contacts.

What we as consumers need to do is to pressure our cellphone manufacturers to make a one-button block feature on our phones.  If they won't then pressure our congresspeople to force them to.  Do-Not-Call lists don't work.

People, please don't OBEY instructions given to you by the same people who are screwing you.  I seriously doubt that PRESSING 9 will remove you from any call list.  Pressing NINE probably just lets them know that a live person has been reached, and that they should intensify their efforts to harass you.  

The best thing you could do, about these criminals, is pray that the people behind this SCAM will meet their end at the hands of a serial killer, or something similarly appropriate.

consumers submitted 208,362 complaints to the FTC regarding unsolicited telephone calls from Pacific Telecom phone numbers between the dates of between June 2012 and August 24, 2012.   Over 25% of all complaints submitted to the FTC during this period were filed against Pacific Telecom phone numbers.

You can't get these people to stop calling even if you're registered with the Do Not Call list. That list only works with legitimate companies that do cold calling. For instance, if you have a life changing event (only the good ones) that is a matter of public record, say, buying a new home, getting married, having a baby, you may get calls from insurance companies, but only if you are not on the Do Not Call list. Legitimate companies do not call if you are. On the other hand, scammers don't care, they're scofflaws. The law means nothing to them. The previous suggests may help keep you from being bothered by them. I just put each number in my contact list calling them Scammer1, Scammer2, etc. Then I gave them no ringtone for their customized ringtone. Looks like I've got them all for the time being. When they call the phone doesn't ring! If I start getting new calls, I'll just add them to the list.

What! No more junk calls from area code 503? Why, it's like losing a deadbeat relative. Thanks for the good news. I didn't think they would ever get that coffin lid nailed shut. I hope this is the first step in getting rid of Pacific Tel.

Your Complaints are being Heard ? Cancelation of Pacific Telecom?s Oregon Certificate

On July 10th, 2012, the staff of the Oregon Public Utilities Commission recommended that Pacific Telecom Communications Group?s certificate of authority to provide telecommunications service in Oregon be revoked.

Pacific Telecom violated rule OAR 860-032-0060, which requires telecom utilities to submit annual reports to the Public Utilities Commission.  Pacific Telecom failed to submit an annual report for the year 2011.

Due to a significant increase in complaints against Pacific Telecom, Oregon regulators appear to be feeling increased pressure to fulfill their mandate to protect the public.

If this decision is finalized, it will prevent Pacific Telecom?s 22,000 Oregon telephone numbers from being used for illegal telemarketing purposes.  Pacific Telecom has 60 days to file for a reconsideration of this decision.
